I started on 3mg suboxone, and my first two days I experienced extreme itchiness. So, they switched me to 2mg subutex. I've been on that same dose for a few weeks. During my last appointment, I spoke with my provider that day via telemedicine. He wasn't my normal provider. Anyway, I explained that I am still experiencing strong cravings, intent to relapse, and drug seeking behavior. The provider said that 2mg is a very small dose and rose the dose to 8mg a day. I waited the 24 hours they require before calling the office back. The front desk prep said that I still had 10 2mg pills and to simply take 4 pills. Of course, she isn't my provider and I wasn't going to take the prescription in a manner that is contrary to what the instructions are. Turns out they weren't intending to write the script and to discuss it during my appointment the next day. The purpose of that appointment was to assess the increase in dose. During my appointment, my regular provider was there. She simply said she disagreed with the increase, and that there was no notes reflecting the dose increase from my appointment a few days before! She then went on to say she is not comfortable with writing anymore refills. She promised a review with the addictionologist. But I see the writing on the wall. I think I'm being discharged because of their own miscommunication and confusion among themselves. Frankly, it's much easier to acquire oxy and relapse. I'd rather not. That is playing with my life. I strongly suggest you establish care with another office. These guys seem incompetent and sketchy. Best of luck on your recovery journey!

Allow me to tell you why I left Fireweed Health Care. In a word: Deb. Recent visits have led me…read moreto the conclusion that I can no longer trust her judgment. She parrots back Trump & Alex Jones diatribe so much in the sessions that you don't know if your medication is being prescribed by her or by the "War on Opioids." Among subjects that have come up are that Pokemon GO is turning kids on to Satan and that the creators of Rick & Morty, just like anyone Alex Jones and Fox News don't like, are pedophiles. The thing that convinced me that I needed to go elsewhere was my first appointment after my roommate took his life following the earthquake in December. My depression and anxiety are a matter of record, so I was honest about how I don't know how I'll make rent and look after his wife and so forth. The following is not her verbatim response, however, all of the sentences were in it: "Well, you better get a job, then! Can't keep sucking off the government teat forever! Once you've lost more weight, your depression will go away, then it won't matter that you've been on disability for 14 years." This woman is a NURSE? That is neither the definition of "compassionate" NOR "care!" One appointment with her set my Depression therapy back five years! Maybe she thought she was giving me a "needed kick in the ass," but no. It was a kick in the balls when I was already down. This combination of experiences is why, after years with their other providers, I feel that I can no longer trust Fireweed Health Care with my pain management.
