The office is shady. They rely on telemedicine and communication between each other within the…read moreorganization leaves something to be desired. I started on 3mg suboxone, and my first two days I experienced extreme itchiness. So, they switched me to 2mg subutex. I've been on that same dose for a few weeks. During my last appointment, I spoke with my provider that day via telemedicine. He wasn't my normal provider. Anyway, I explained that I am still experiencing strong cravings, intent to relapse, and drug seeking behavior. The provider said that 2mg is a very small dose and rose the dose to 8mg a day. I waited the 24 hours they require before calling the office back. The front desk prep said that I still had 10 2mg pills and to simply take 4 pills. Of course, she isn't my provider and I wasn't going to take the prescription in a manner that is contrary to what the instructions are. Turns out they weren't intending to write the script and to discuss it during my appointment the next day. The purpose of that appointment was to assess the increase in dose. During my appointment, my regular provider was there. She simply said she disagreed with the increase, and that there was no notes reflecting the dose increase from my appointment a few days before! She then went on to say she is not comfortable with writing anymore refills. She promised a review with the addictionologist. But I see the writing on the wall. I think I'm being discharged because of their own miscommunication and confusion among themselves. Frankly, it's much easier to acquire oxy and relapse. I'd rather not. That is playing with my life. I strongly suggest you establish care with another office. These guys seem incompetent and sketchy. Best of luck on your recovery journey!

This "Doctor " is ridiculous. My spouse recently entered the building that this office is located…read more He went in to visit a different company. On the way out of the building he was approached by the doctor that works at the treatment center and was accused of being a homeless man who was "stealing". He told my spouse he knew he was there to steal something and told him to empty his pockets. He was then informed that my spouse was visiting a different office in the building. When confronted about this interaction the "doctor " had a smug look on his face and while he denied it and stated they were "the most sympathetic towards the homeless ". Not One time was my spouse asked if he needed anything or if he was in the wrong spot. He was Automatically racially profiled because he was native and "looked homeless " he is not. There was No apology only argument. At no point did they say "we're sorry if that happened " just "excuse me, only 2 people work here and you have the wrong place". For that alone I will never recommend this business to anyone. Stay far away, they don't care about you, they care about business and money. They can't even have the decency to ask questions before they yell at you for "trying to steal" and have no class to even apologize.

Allow me to tell you why I left Fireweed Health Care. In a word: Deb. Recent visits have led me…read moreto the conclusion that I can no longer trust her judgment. She parrots back Trump & Alex Jones diatribe so much in the sessions that you don't know if your medication is being prescribed by her or by the "War on Opioids." Among subjects that have come up are that Pokemon GO is turning kids on to Satan and that the creators of Rick & Morty, just like anyone Alex Jones and Fox News don't like, are pedophiles. The thing that convinced me that I needed to go elsewhere was my first appointment after my roommate took his life following the earthquake in December. My depression and anxiety are a matter of record, so I was honest about how I don't know how I'll make rent and look after his wife and so forth. The following is not her verbatim response, however, all of the sentences were in it: "Well, you better get a job, then! Can't keep sucking off the government teat forever! Once you've lost more weight, your depression will go away, then it won't matter that you've been on disability for 14 years." This woman is a NURSE? That is neither the definition of "compassionate" NOR "care!" One appointment with her set my Depression therapy back five years! Maybe she thought she was giving me a "needed kick in the ass," but no. It was a kick in the balls when I was already down. This combination of experiences is why, after years with their other providers, I feel that I can no longer trust Fireweed Health Care with my pain management.

So disappointed yet again. Alaska claims to have indigent and homeless problems and says "if you…read morehave an issue reach out and help is available". No it isn't. At least not from this so called provider. I was referred here and went to a few dismissive sessions seeking a primary care doctor and a neurologist. Both were 10 minute cursory sessions that left me feeling unheard and like a fool for trusting a stranger this help. They can't prescribe medication and they (at least for me) treated me as though I was a silly little girl with trivial problems that don't matter. Not to get into it deeply but as soon as someone puts that energy out as a healthcare provider, the person on the other end closes up. As they are supposedly educated persons in the field of mental and physical health they know that. But they dont care about anything but the paycheck. Rest assured, you better make your appointments or you will be charged. I had to make changes and some cancellations due to the very issues I was seeing them for and they told me they wouldn't see me anymore unless I was a walk in. As someone who works to keep the lights on I can't afford to sit around a "doctors" office for them to oh so gracefully allow me to prostrate myself and pay cash for a their shit attitude. I will say the front desk girls have always been quite pleasant. But this isn't ok. The admin hires some barely out of high school girl to work the front and except them to know the ropes immediately? This is a negative place all around. I won't be back even if my symptoms get worse. I will be looking for a different provider. This company has lost my faith, trust, respect, and a whole lot of money. Don't make the same mistake I did. Even reading a book gave me a better sense of self and I wellbeing than this joke of an institution ever could. Frankly I'm embarrassed to have gone there after my partner passed. It was a really hard time but instead of supporting and helping me though the dark side these people Just made me miserable. I will badmouth them as long as I live. It's that bad. They gleefully took my grief and turned it back on me all the while making sure to hound me for bills. Take care of yourself because no one else cares as much as we do. The whole world experience with AK Behavioral has made me a more guarded person. Angry and defensive instead of the person I used to be. Dr. Virginia and dr Lisa were the people I was seeing. I'll leave out last names so there is a semblance of nondisclosure. The front desk Is polite but clueless. The back desk end is where the conversation, diagnosis, and recommendations/referrals come from? The left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing. Sad state of affairs There are so many sad and pathetic things about this. It's unfortunate for everyone all across then board. I haven't been able to sleep at all. Upset and angry. The power situation is bullshit. The saying is "if you need help, stand up and ask for it". Which is bull in this town. In anchorage we prosecute the criminals and jail the homeowners. We let the homeless drug addicts walk in front of cars and it's the drivers fault. Then the city council has meeting upon meetings on how to address the brain drain. Why are people graduating from UAA and staying here instead of getting out like they want to? They he system is corrupted if it ever worked in the first place. You should all be ashamed.

Theres a serious problem with reception. This place never, not once, answers the phone when I call…read more I was not reached out to about an appointment change because they called a number that wasn't mine and they had a type-o with my email address and couldn't send me important forms.
