On Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 8:24pm, while ordering drinks at the new Alaska bar lounge at PDX airport, we were assisted by Susie and we ordered 2 drinks, 1 of which was a premium drink. In short, both drinks should have been complimentary but when stating that fact and the supporting reason, Susie motioned to her forehead and said she couldn't read that on my spouse's forehead. She said that rather loudly and twice. I told her that he had stated the facts twice prior to ordering when she told us to move from one side of the bar to where she would prepare our drinks. If anyone were to watch a video of the bar area at that specific time, they'd see Susie's hand motions waving over her forward as she told my spouse that she couldn't read that on his forehead.... They'd see our expressions as well. We usually tip when ordering at the bar but my spouse, rightfully so, put the cash back into his wallet. We spent the remaining 30 minutes watching her facial expressions, or lack thereof, with other customers. We felt uncomfortable with this specific individual, hopefully training is provided to avoid any similar attitudes towards other guests. We were very early for our flight and were so happy that we could use the Alaska Lounge. Ronnie greeted us warmly and told us the layout of the lounge. The lounge is very large with lots of seating and work areas with a lot of natural light coming in. The bar area is well separated from the food service area. They offer an array of hot and cold food items, a coffee bar, a salad bar, a selection of snack items, as well as dessert items. We were content to have a quiet, comfortable place to sit, read, work and relax while waiting for our flight. The staff was very friendly. The lounge was kept very clean. We only tried the broccoli cheddar soup and the oatmeal raisin cookies. They both were freshly prepared and delicious. Thank you for a comfortable respite! read more

April 21 2025 we were able get into the Alaska lounge concourse c free of charge using our business class tickets from Portland to London England. Normally it would cost $50 for two people using our American Express Platinum credit cards. We headed straight to the hot food area and stocked up on gyro beef , quinonna, and mashed potatoes. Gyro beef went fast and had to be replenished quite often. Slices of tender beef went well with the quinoa and potatoes. Also stocked up on chocolate brownies. , corn chowder and chili beans. On the other side was a salad bar complete with iceberg lettuce tomatoes and garbanzo beans among other foods.. there was a soft drink area complete with various carbonated drinks. There were tables for eating along with plush chairs for resting and napping big area in separate room. There are two lounges for Alaska airlines at Portland airport. The lounge in concourse b is near the entrance to concourse b.. the lounge in concourse c is across from gate C5. Just make sure you go to The concourse c lounge and not The concourse b lounge in the afternoon as The concourse b lounge closes at 12:30 p.m. whereas The concourse seat lounge is open until 10:30 p.m. What were we doing in Portland Oregon taking business class to London? We were using our Alaska airline points fly British airlines from Portland to London as there were no reward points for going from San Francisco to London. read more

I love that Alaska offers a lounge. You have all your basic breakfast foods, complimentary coffee and alcohol and soda machine. They have an assortment of seating while you wait to depart on your trip including free WiFi. If you have the opportunity I suggest stopping by! On my early morning flight this week, I had a delicious crepe with Yukon gold potato and walla walla onion scramble, some form of delicious egg dish (maybe mushroom frittata), and hollandaise sauce. Really glad we were able to take advantage of the lounge. It's not something I usually do but it's something to consider more in the future. It's really nice to go enjoy some food where you can actually sit and enjoy it. It's so much quieter and more calm in this space. The food was good too, plus the drinks. We were flying soon so not so much drinking but it's nice to get a well prepared cocktail pre-flight. I would absolutely do this again if given the opportunity. The service is consistently excellent, with comfortable seating and a pleasant environment. The drinks are good, but they only allow ordering one at a time, which can be inconvenient if someone needs to sit with the kids. The food is not my favorite; it's prepackaged and honestly not very tasty. It can suffice when you're starving, but it's not my first choice for a meal. read more

This particular Alaska lounge is decent. They are building a new one so it should be improved sometime next year. It's not too big compared to other lounges at this time and depending on time could be either empty or way packed. The food is meh. I mean I'll eat if hungry but, it's school cafeteria level. Plates are tiny so people don't waste food I guess but, it makes it super hard to actually put food on the plate. Employees are great and usually friendly. Lots of drinks (coffee, tea, soda) + alcohol if you're into that. The food and non-alcoholic drinks aren't' really worth it unless you have a long layover or want a place more quiet than the airport terminal. Now if you're coming here for some alcohol it could justify the price a bit more. Bathrooms are nice and clean here. read more

The food choices in the new lounge are horrible. The new lounge itself is nice not as much cities as I expected. It was pretty busy right now. Bathrooms are also nice but food items are bizarre than a member for a couple of years and thinking of canceling it it's better to just go find something to eat in the airport. read more

I've been to a few airport lounges and this one is pretty good. It is clean, an abundance of seating, there are lots of food and beverage options and has lots of outlets. There is a high top bar with outlets, perfect if you have work to do. The food selections always seem to include an entree, some fresh vegetable and fruits and a sweet treat. The bar serves a variety of spirits and there is both a soda and coffee machine. The service is great, with food being replenished quickly, tables cleared and one person even provided a wake up call. read more

Not sure why they chose to exclude short haul first class passengers. Seems like a poor public relations move. I fly frequently, but not all my flights are cross country. Ok...this is not a traditional bar or restaurant...but if you have access to the lounge please go..as a frequent flier who travels more than 100,000 miles per year and visits dozens of lounges across the country (and world) this is the best airline lounge I have ever been in...not even close! Why so good you ask? Well...beyond the obvious of complimentary food and drinks...it is the exceptional staff that makes this place shine. Alaska Airlines almost always has the best lounge staff as they are actually employees of the airlines (versus outside contractors like other airlines) -- and the staff seems to genuinely care about their customers. Case in point...on my way to Tennessee on my wife's birthday recently, I happened to mention our travel plans in passing to the bartender on duty -- Kim -- in the lounge while getting a drink...about 5 minutes later and totally unexepectedly, Kim shows up at our table with a delicious birthday brownie for my wife...my wife cried as she was so happy with the gesture! But having been a regular in this lounge for several years...this is just what all of the staff does there....it is a great team that honestly makes me forget about a lot of the other issues that we have when traveling...oh, and the lounge food and drinks are pretty good as well for a lounge! Only worthwhile if you are a member, have a First Class boarding ticket, or have some sort of travel pass. This Alaska Lounge location is rather small in terms of size and food options. During peak hours it gets very crowded and a lot left to be desired. There are non-dairy milks available but they are not refilled accordingly. I am also unsure if they might have made an error on the labels but I developed a stomach pain after consuming a hot tea with a slash of their supposed almond milk. The seats in the back were large and private. The restroom was decent. Perhaps it was bad timing and overall experience is better at non-peak hours. read more

As a frequent Portland visitor, lounge enthusiast, and current Alaska elite, it's hard to be impressed with their lounge here at PDX. I am really not trying to go against the grain with my 3 star rating, but there are number of things that make this lounge average at best: * It's small. Not only is it the smallest Alaska lounge I've seen, but there literally is not much room to stretch around and/or move around. Everything smaller from the bathrooms to the buffet to the bar. Which leads me into my next point ... * It's often crowded (#2). There are some days where PDX barely sees a blip of people (#1) but almost every time I've come here in the last couple of years has been packed. It's actually debatable as to whether it's better to spend the pre-flight hours here or checking out all the fun things that PDX airport has to offer. * WiFi is weaksauce. Ironically, I'm finding better speeds with the general PDX public WiFi. * The agents who are there to check people in are slow and selectively nice. There have been moments where I've checked in and nary a word was uttered. I usually assume they are simply not in the mood. * The bathrooms are often closed for cleaning. This is not inherently a bad thing since I love my restrooms clean as well, but this is pretty frequent. Limited stalls / urinals with frequent usage means plenty of opportunity for lots of mess. Not everything merits a sad face though, some good things worth mentioning: * The view in the mornings is actually quite nice. * I can totally see how folks might perceive this place to be pleasant and even a little cute. * Though it's standard practice to have a rotation of foods at all Alaska Lounges, I do appreciate that they make do with their little buffet by offering a number of different items. Like all Alaska lounges, the soups are key. Honestly I do hesitate coming here but PDX's lack of lounges makes forces my hand just a bit. I'm really hoping that a Centurion Lounge will come here some day, or at the very least, a larger, more spacious renovation to bring this lounge up to par with the rest. As of November 2023, this airport is in the middle of a major renovation. Construction can be seen from almost every area of the airport, including the view from this lounge. Alaska is a partner airline of American so access to this club may be included in your access to their Admiral's Club. My CC gets me into both and it is always a welcomed environment compared to the general terminal. Sometimes you just want a snack or a cold drink and don't want to have to pay $10 or $15 for the pleasure. Access to these clubs meet those needs for me. Don't get me wrong, most don't have over-the-top food selections but almost always have enough of a selection to satisfy the craving until my next meal. Staff in this location was friendly and helpful. It's a smaller lounge but I didn't have any problem finding food, drink and a comfortable place to sit. They have some cocktails for free, others are for sale. Just depends on which brand of wine or alcohol your prefer. Fountain drinks are available through one of those 100-in-1 machines. Coffee also available through an automated machine. Food items on my day including some desserts like cookies, make your own tacos, chips and some soups. Enough to get me through. Will visit again the next time I'm there. Enjoy! read more

I'm a loyal American Airlines traveler and when I was flying out of PDX and there was no Admiral's Lounge, I used this lounge instead, since they share with each other. The lady checking me in was very helpful, fast and nice and the other staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful as well. They have a very nice breakfast, one that's better than AA's in fact! Bagels and Lox with all the accoutrement, eggs, breads and something that's really cool - an automatic pancake making machine! It actually works and makes fresh pancakes to order. The restroom was really clean and so was the rest of the lounge. The lounge is slightly on the small size, but there was plenty of seating available when I visited. I'll definitely return when back at this airport! read more

Great place to get away from crowds and relax get some healthy food and espresso before and after a flight. I fly about 30 times per year and it's well worth the membership cost over the airport coffee shops Hudson news and restaurants. With guest my cost per person per visit was around 5 bucks for an all you can eat and drink lounge. Should have done this years ago read more

This place is a total dump. I appreciate they are building a new lounge in PDX in a year or two, but between the lack of offerings, their failure to recognize what are supposed to be reciprocal agreements with other One World alliance lounge memberships and general rudeness of the staff, I wouldn't bother. Have tried to give them another shot repeatedly, but they keep failing to even meet minimum expectations. Better off going to the restaurants before walking down to Terminal C. read more

In September I did a mileage run with enough of a layover to check out the lounge in PDX. The PDX lounge is considerably smaller than their SFO and SEA lounges, but you'll still find many of the same offerings at PDX. From the pancake station, mini food bar (tomato bisque and salad when I went), bar, coffee station, and scattered seating. Despite the size, the lounge is perfect when there isn't a crowd, and there's also counter seating with views of the runway. That said, when I visited the lounge was really showing wear and tear. The carpet, especially towards the back where the main seating is, had several large stains and a lot of the seats had food debris. The countertops at the food and coffee stations were clean though, with a few staff consistently wiping down, cleaning, and restocking. As others have noted, the restroom is very small. Should there be a line, highly recommend stepping out and using the restroom in the main terminal and then returning. Alaska lounge day passes, even from other cities, can still be redeemed. Simply show your boarding pass and the receipt of the day pass. Don't forget: if you have the Alaska credit card, you only have to pay half for the day pass. It's nice that Alaska has a lounge at PDX, but hoping they'll consider giving the space an upgrade or at least change out the carpet. If you have a long layover (or if you already have a day pass) it's worth stopping in, at least to take advantage of the free coffee and food bar. read more

I've been to the lounges at SEA (newest) and SFO and this one just doesn't compare to those two. The couple of times I've been to this location, I've been a tad uncomfortable because it's so small and so crowded. I really hope PDX is given a new location soon. Outside of that, the folks that work here are so nice and you can't beat the price for unlimited snack foods and an open bar. And if you're an Alaska Airlines credit card holder, you get an all day lounge pass for half the price. Definitely the most bang for your buck. read more

They really need to expand. the restrooms are woefully under-equipped. one stall in men's and 2 urinals does not make it during the morning rush. read more

First time arriving at the airport early enough to enjoy my Priority Pass perk, courtesy of Amex. (Thank you PDX for making it so easy to get thru the gates.) They had a nice mini bar and was pouring a nice Red fr Paso Robles, and good draft beer choices. We were relaxing in their comfy lounge chairs when the attendant offered us hot bowls of clam chowder...of course we could not refuse. Very nice way to kill some time before our flight home. I know construction is happening now at PDX, but I sure hope that once it's done, there's some huge improvements. The current lounge is small and can get crowded. Food selections are pretty limited. Expansion of food offerings would go a long way. It's a nice and quite place to wait for your flight if there's room. PDX is really such a good airport and has excellent food offerings. The Alaska Lounge should be at a minimum on par with that experience and hopefully better. Right now, I wouldn't recommend paying for access here. read more

Alaska changed their policy on who has access to lounge in February. Since then various Alaska staff has explained the rules differently... the issue is... is the 2100 mile limit is for a one flight on your trip... or the entire one-way distance. I was allowed in before. Today I was allowed in and booted 10 minutes later. I guess the truth is that this lounge service has very little value anyway. So no big deal. I'd rather be in a public part of the airport than interact with lounge staff again. I wish Alaska could get them all to have a better understanding of these policies.. read more
