Ready for some steakhouse cuisine when you're far from home and all they seem to have is tacos?…read moreWell you're in luck because this place has got your cravings by a covered. Just to preface I really think this place is more of a 4-star joint but they just tried so hard. But onto the goodies. Made a reservation to come in, and when we arrived my lady went up to the hostess to be let in. They told her the kitchen was closed. I was busy paying the Taxi, but when I walked up in a suit and told them I was 5 minutes early for my reservation they changed their tune. All of a sudden this place was open and the welcome mats were placed at our feet. The service felt rushed, so I recommended coming in closer to dinner time. When you can enjoy a less hurried experience. We started with calamari a salad and pork tacos. I went for the ribeye and didn't look back. My The steak was a bit overcooked as the searing went a little deep, but overall it was still juicy and pretty good. They brought out a little hat and some complimentary dessert for my birthday which was nice and even sang las mañanitas. So if your looking for some fancy decor and some lovely environment in which to enjoy your food, you'll be happy you came here

We had just arrived to Guadalajara and glad we found this restaurant open and close by our hotel…read more It is beautifully decorated, inviting, welcoming and upscale. Our server and staff were friendly, attentive, welcoming and happy to answer any questions. We stared with Jamaica margaritas and were greeted by salsas and tostadas. Salsas were tasty and go from mild to hot. We ordered the tuetanos de res a la parrilla con champiñones and added escamoles to try. The tuetano was delish and the escamoles and acquired taste, but we tried them! We wrapped up with fish tacos and an oblea with cajeta which was delish. Just what we needed to wrap up the meal.

We started with oysters, which were incredibly fresh and clean-tasting, followed by the tuna carpaccio--delicate, perfectly balanced, and melt-in-your-mouth good. The aguachile had just the right kick, bright and refreshing, and the pulpo was hands-down one of the best I've had: tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. We paired everything with a couple of cold beers, and honestly, the freshness of the seafood stole the show. You can tell this is a place that takes pride in quality--from the ingredients to the presentation to the service. The atmosphere is beautiful and elevated without feeling stuffy, making it perfect for both a special night out or a relaxed but memorable meal. I wanted to go back again during our trip, but they were fully booked--which says everything you need to know. Campomar is absolutely worth planning ahead for, and I'll 100% be back next time I'm in town. Campomar absolutely lived up to the hype. So far this has been the best taco spot in Jalisco. They open at 1:30 and there was already a line…read morewhen we arrived at 1:20. They promptly let us in at 1:30, and were fully staffed waiting for the lunch crowd. You seat yourself and they immediately bring out the 4 different house salsas and a bowl of limes. Love that! There's a menu on the wall or you can scan a QR code at the table. Here's the tacos we ordered: Al pastor- best one; between my husband and I, we ate 10 of these. Costilla- husband rated 7/10 Carnaza- soft and tender Lengua- tender, not chewy, husband rated it 10/10 Dorados- crunchy tortilla with carne molido inside, and topped with carne asada..this was my 2nd favorite. Asada- tender tiny cuts of meat. Total- 10/10 we are already planning on coming back before we leave! Wait staff was attentive and the food came out quickly!

Got there around 8pm and we sat immediately. Place was full but a table for two was open. We sat down and they took our order. I ordered 3 pastor tacos and 3 asadas with cheese. I also ordered a horchata to drink. The tacos came out pretty quickly. The pastor was really good. But the star of the show was the asada WITH CHEESE. The cheese is the key. They fry up the cheese on the griddle and it gives it a slightly brown color from the heat. The asada taco with cheese is the best tacos I've ever had. If you go here order this! I ended up ordering 2 more asadas with cheese because it was so good. They have some delicious salsa at the table as well as pico de gallo and of course lime. I also ordered a jaricalla which is similar to flan. Very delicious! This place is a must stop restaurant when in Guadalajara. It does get pretty busy for a good reason. The people working were very nice. If I didn't have so many places I wanted to try I would have gone again during my visit. This place is simply amazing!!!!
