The customer service here is the best!!! You can ask any waiter for anything and they personally take care of you instead of having to ask for your particular server. The Ribeye tacos are stunning but the meat is spectacular.The only thing we didn't like was the smoked chicken.The temperature was kinda cold.We didn't complain because we didn't have the time but we know that if we would of said anything they would of taken care of it.
Outstanding evening at Brick tonight. I had read some other reviews and it got my interest piqued as it was supposed to be close to the JW Marriott where we were staying. It was actually right next to the JW! Our server was named Mike (Miguel) and the manager was Santiago. Mike was simply wonderful. Other than knowing we wanted a filet, I couldn't figure out what I wanted to drink and what to do about appetizers and sides dishes. Mike's recommendations were spot on. Appetizer- Burrato Con Serrano (their version of Tomato Mozzarella with black olives). It was really good and refreshing. Dinner- 10 ounce filet. Good, but not Texas steakhouse good:) Sides- street corn, peppers and onions, french fries. Nothing fancy compared to home, but still tasty. Jalapeños were HOT for this gringo! Dessert- Gran Ferrero. Wow! Drink suggestions throughout dinner were outstanding. Other tidbits- the weather here is beautiful. 100 degrees in DFW and when we landed here we walked outside to 72 degrees. Prepare yourself for some rather loud "techno" music with videos playing on several of their TV's. Actually enjoyed listening to something different. They tend to undercook their steaks compared to what we are used to in the States. If you want medium rare you better order medium. The presentation for everything from start to finish was top notch. Service was as good as it gets, anywhere.
Found this restaurant on Yelp, so I decided to take my parents and sister before taking them to the airport. If you want a quick rundown, I recommend dining at this restaurant. Food, cocktails, ambiance, and service are worth stopping here for lunch or dinner. My only complaints were a couple of steaks we ordered. NY Steak was tough and overcooked because of how it was served, and one ribeye was too salty. However, ALL of the other dishes ordered made up for it! Ambiance - 5/5 - The restaurant itself is beautiful. Clean and modern. They have two different dining areas - one had more of a daytime feel (which is where we sat), and the dining area was a little darker and had a dinner setting. Underground parking is available in the structure! Food/drinks - 4/5 - The steaks we ordered, in my opinion, were just okay. We ordered a ribeye (Nacional), and my steak was seasoned a little too heavily with salt. The ribeye was tender and cooked rare, as requested. My mom ordered a NY steak seasoned well; however, it was served on a hot stone which overcooked the meat as she ate it, causing it to become very tough to eat or cut through (It was ordered medium). Plenty of higher-end cuts were available, but we wanted to try other items on their menu. Complementary salsa, cheese (queso fresco) with an oil drizzle, and some tostadas are brought to the table - all very good. My favorite was the Tostadas de Atun Fresco (Tuna Tostada). I was sad we didn't order more, but we had plenty more dishes to try. It was fresh, light, and drizzled with a zesty oil that brought it all together. First time trying cooked oysters, and that was a yummy experience if you're an oyster fan. I preferred the oyster topped with chili oil, but the garlic oil was also good. The Tacos de Lengua a Las Brasas was tasty, tender, and cooked well. They bring you a tiny cup of the lengua (beef tongue) broth to sip on with a bite of the taco, which I hadn't experienced before. It was great to amplify the flavor of the taco and also delicious on its own. The Gran Pulpo a Las Brasas (octopus) was delicious! It was seasoned well, not tough or chewy, and the presentation was excellent. It is served with small portions of mole that was so good! My sister ordered the Brick Pasta, similar to alfredo pasta. It was finished cooking in a cheese wheel which I thought was a nice touch. Pasta needed a little bit of salt and pepper but overall good flavor. For dessert (because you can't skip dessert), we ordered the Gran Ferrero. Beautiful presentation; this is for you if you are a chocolate lover! It was a bit too chocolaty for me, so a couple of bites were good. They bring flavored fruit icicles at the end - not too sweet and refreshing a treat. Service - 5/5 - We arrived shortly after opening hours (1:40 pm) and were the first table there. The server, host, and bartender were super attentive & helpful with items on the menu and recommendations. They also showcase the type of steak cuts available, which is neat. I had asked about a cocktail pictured in a Yelp review. The drink was a red martini with a "smoke bubble." The server said it wasn't a specialty drink on their menu, proceeding to say it was a Cosmopolitan and would ask the bartender. The Cosmo sounded good and ordered either way. To my surprise, the bartender brought my drink and added the smoke bubble. I thought that was nice, especially because I didn't expect it. :) Prices are highly reasonable for the quality, quantity, and presentation of dishes and cocktails. It was 5 of us dining for lunch, and we spent approx. $ 265 USD/ ~$5000 pesos (including ~15% tip). We ordered tostadas de atun, lengua tacos, oysters, octopus, pasta, 3 steaks (2 ribeyes and NY steak), 6 cocktails, and 3 beers. Overall, it was a great experience and a restaurant I would gladly return to.
Perfect top notch service. I have very high expectations and Brick met them all. Impecable service, delicious food, on point presentation. They have a complete bar selection of beer, cocktails, wine & champagne. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and had a lovely evening. Most importantly I am super impressed by the service.
Last night I had an amazing experience, I had dinner at Brick Steakhouse in GDL. My waiter was Louis and he was wonderful. When we arrived, we was greeted and shown our seats. The restaurant decor was beautiful and the music invited us in . Louis our waiter, came to table and just introduced us to the beginning of what to come! We started with drinks and grilled oysters and followed with octopus and shrimp. Even though this is a steak house, Brick's seafood menu is definitely something to try. Thank you Louis, Leo the manager , the marvelous bartender and the kitchen staff . We will return!
Quiet evening dinner in Guadalajara at the very refined "Brick". Located in a financial center, the restaurant was empty except for our table and one other. The waitstaff told us that the economy in Mexico wasn't what it was prior to COVID-19. We ordered per the photos attached and everything was as expected for an establishment of this caliber. The only subpar item was the Japanese wagyu which was quite fibrous throughout. It was possibly due to the per gram pricing, but we would have gladly paid the same amount ($$$$) for a well trimmed, smaller piece with the tough membrane removed. Otherwise all the beef was grilled to a perfect medium rare temperature. Everything else from the doting service to the roasted tortillas, octopus, prawns, vegetables, house made popsicles and espresso was 100%. Needless to say, we way overindulged this evening, but couldn't recommend a better place in Guadalajara to do just that. Mangia bene!
I'm not gonna lie, this is probably the best restaurant experience I've had in my life all across the board. I've been here three times now, and each time our server has been the same, why? ...because I've requested him! Luis is absolutely TOP NOTCH! He is the very personification of Mexican excellence and a credit to this establishment. On this third visit in town from Atlanta, I invited my family who lives in GDL and there were six of us. We had two Chamorros (no pic cause they were gone as soon as the hit the table lol), the best I've ever had! All you need is some tortillas and salsitas and you're all set! We also ordered a few sides and some additional cuts of meat to share. The mezcal cocktails were absolutely amazing! All around this dining experience was the best I've ever had and EVERY time I travel to GDL I'll be visiting this spot and requesting Luis as my server, best believe. If youre ever in town, trust me, check this upscale place out, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
This place is amazing!! My first time and first meal in Guadalajara. We stayed next door at the AC Hotel. We checked in and were extremely HANGRY from traveling. Brick just happened to be a conveniently located 5 star restaurant steak house. We had the BEAN TACOS and the queso fundido w/ rib eye. The bean tacos we crazy and the rib eye in the cheese made it pretty much steak cheese. My only gripe would be that the queso could use sour dough bread. We ordered the ribeye for our main entree. Mike recommended the Mexican style and it was great. Definitely get the onion and peppers as a side. I didn't like the leaks too much. Overall the food was a 5. I'm sure I'll have more to add as I kept seeing other dishes I would like to try. I'm absolutely going back to try some of the desserts.
I was so happy to find this restaurant! What a great place to grab a drink and dinner. I went here a few times during my trip to GDL and each time I had great service, tasty drinks and good food. I was impressed with the service, we ended up meeting the owner and he made sure we were taken care of. The waiters speak English and offer some awesome suggestions. Their selection of steaks is impressive and they offer just about every cut you can think of. Mezcal! Ohhh the mezcal was on point here too. They serve it in a coconut shell with some orange slices and wow just amazing. I highly recommend trying this when here. Great place with amazing food and service, hard to beat!
This place in Guadalajara next to the W hotel is fantastic. I went to eat a steak, but never got to it. I ordered a Godfather as a drink, and the shots were huge! I love octopus, and they had an appetizer of Octopus and Pork Rind sopes. I ordered it. It was incredible! And they gave me a complimentary tostadas and cheese appetizer with three different salsas. It was fantastic. So I never got to the steak. Will have to go tonight and get that steak. read more

Service was excellent, food was delicious. We had several appetizers all of which were really good. Went there for a birthday , they bring out an awesome little piñata made of chocolate. Cocktails were also excellent read more

Nice atmosphere with lots of windows . With plants and basic modern style . I got the ribeye with smoked potatoes. Along with carrot cheesecake for dessert. The prices were right. it wasn't overly expensive. read more

Just celebrated my wife birthday at The Brick and I want to thank Santiago and Alejandro for making our night extra special by giving my family excellent service and attention. We all ordered steaks and each one was cooked to perfection and melted in our mouths. The service at The Brick far exceeds any restaurant service I have experienced in the US. Thanks again , we will definitely return when we are back in beautiful Guadalajara. read more

Our first visit to Guadalajara. My Husband is playing in the Seniors Tournament at Guadalajara Country Club. Had a free night and Brick Steak House was recommended by one of the other players. We were able to secure a reservation at the last minute on Valentine's Day! Phew! We were kindly greeted and allowed to chose our table. Chose a quiet, cozy corner. We were brought toasted tortillas with seasoned cheese and three salsas as a complimentary starter. My Husband ordered a bottle of 3V Casa Madero 2020, which we had fallen in love with earlier in our visit. I ordered a Cosmopolitan. I was totally unprepared for what they brought me! It was a Cosmopolitan in a martini glass, topped with a bubble of smoke. They burst the bubble with a squeeze of zest from a sliver of lemon. The smoke had been infused with Rosemary. Wowsa! It was delicious! I was so excited, I had to order another just to video the experience. I drank it of course! For our Entreés, my Husband ordered Bone Marrow and then we ordered Carbonara to split. We are well traveled Winos and Foodies. We have plenty of experiences around the world to compare and rate dishes. The Bone Marrow was the BEST my Husband had ever been served. The Carbonara was absolutely delicious. Hard to compare and rate as each Chef puts his own spin on it. They brought us complimentary frozen treats on a stick to finish our evening. Then, we asked if they could get us a taxi. BOTH our server and the Manager literally went out to the street and not only secured a taxi, they negotiated a good rate. We were blown away by the entire experience! The service, food and ambiance were 5 stars amazing. We most definitely recommend Brick Steak House! Can't wait to return. read more

Convenient location from our hotel, so we tried it out. The service was excellent, and the steaks were cooked perfectly (we asked for medium rare), which they offered to slice and serve. They also have a hot stone to keep your steak warm upon request. The other dishes we ordered were good, but not as outstanding as their steak. Overall a good dining experience read more

This was a dining experience! The one you want to have on vacation. My partner and I had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant. The quality of service along with the delicious food really provided a great finishing touch to our vacation. We had a wonderful server named Alejandro who brought out all our dishes and talked about what we were going to eat. Definitely will be coming back. What a high quality luxurious restaurant! We were traveling for business in Guadalajara and ended up and Brick for dinner. We were extremely impressed with the service and quality of food. Pepe was our server and he was so great that we went back the next day. I would highly recommend Brick any day and ask for Pepe, you will not be disappointed. read more

Wow! What can I say about this place. We were on vacation for 5 days and ended up going three times. First I'll start with the service. One word Amazing. Everyone is very attentive and very helpful. From giving you suggestions on their menu from making customized drinks with their awesome mixologist who actually makes the drinks next to your table. Our server Fernando was the best! So helpful giving us ideas on which places were good to go dancing and where to go and listen to music. Now for the food. OMG!!! To be honest it's pricey, but totally worth it. My favorite was the pulpo al carbon (bbq'd octopus) it was so tender like cutting into butter, it was served with veggies and mashed sweet potatoes it was the perfect combination. Their steaks are phenomenal and huge. They bring you the cuts do you can pick which you'd like. Omg the desserts are so creative and decadent. From their pastel de natas (like a soft cheesecake) to their delicious pastel de elote (like a sweet cornbread) served with ice cream. Everything was perfect. Our friends who are locals had never been there and they absolutely loved it. Perfect place to go for drinks, great food , oh and they also have a DJ playing awesome music. read more
