Freddie is our guy!! My son has begged me for a tattoo since forever, so when he turned 16 he researched that FL would give him one with parental consent. Being the horrible mother I am (sarcasm, don't come for me people! ), I allowed it! So during our annual family vacation, we found Alan's Cool Ink and this guy was honest about what the tattoo would likely look like as my kid continued to grow. He gave us what I thought was a fair price and proceed with his craft. Well, this year, same thing. Now he's 17 and wanted a even bigger piece to honor his grandfather "King Phil", forever President of Unexplainable M/C (Nashville, TN). We love the piece, the price was great, Freddie was great, whole experience was seamless! He blended with the 1st tattoo (which in my opinion needs something done to it now that his arm has grown AND more importantly, you can barely see my name now ), it's flawless! The only problem now is he'll be 18 soon and can get a tattoo locally, Freddie you moving to TN? Ha! Anyway, can't wait to see what he produces for the kid next year. read more

My first tattoo, so limited experience to draw from... however: our first location, which we had chosen after careful research, had closed early, so we walked in at 7pm (closing at 8pm) for a small set of tattoos, and were graciously received, treated with the utmost of respect (first tattoos at 60yo), given complete flexibility over font choice and size, and had an extremely enjoyable experience with a guest artist from Spain! The office area was clean, well lit, and the hygiene/cleanliness practices were obviously a high priority. We received a thorough explanation of all that was happening and what to expect/how to care for the tattoo until it has healed. Highly recommended. And for the place that closed early... thanks! read more

My boyfriend and I stopped here to get small matching tattoos as walk ins. The receptionist was very helpful and nice. We saw Andrew shortly after arriving and he did an OUTSTANDING job on our tattoos. He showed us different sizes and made sure we were 100% happy before proceeding. It was really affordable and not an outrageous price like many other shops around. Andrew was such a pleasure to meet and chat with, the shop had a really cool vibe with some amazing artists. Not one of those pretentious tattoo shops with artists with attitude. I really can't say enough good things about this place. We will definitely have to get more art when we're visiting again. If you're looking for a genuine artist who's also really awesome at what he does, ask for Andrew! read more

Was in Destin for vacation and had been wanting to get a few small tattoos. Alan was absolutely amazing. He listened to my ideas and put together a perfect delicate design. Super clean lines and was even able to add some small details to make my wrist at too pop more. I highly recommend this place read more

My friend and I drove an hour to the tattoo shop earlier today for them to say that it would be 3 hours until they were ready for any new clients, so we made an appointment for 9pm. We had dinner reservations and we rushed to get here for our 9pm appointment.... and then they said it would be an hour cause she took on another client...? The appointment and the money we put down was supposed to hold our spot. Terrible service. When asking if we could just leave and get our deposit back because it was their fault they said no. I understand the deposit is non-refundable but it wasn't our fault, they knew about the appointment, the deposit is usually on the person if they don't show up. We were early and still got told to wait. This isn't our first time here either, we definitely will not be coming back. read more

My dad and step mom came in one night to make an appointment for the next day and they got them sat in for that night! Definitely a place you would want to get some ink. read more

This is definitely one of the better tattoo shops in the area. It's located right in the center of town, the shop is clean and spacious and has a laid-back, professional vibe that you'll appreciate. This was one of the smoothest, easiest times I've ever had in a tattoo shop. One feature of this shop that you won't find in many is that Alan's Cool Ink does laser tattoo removal and treatment. No more flying to Beverly Hills! Reanna is a true artist. She does excellent black and grey and her line work is flawless. My ink turned out perfectly and I'll definitely come back the next time I'm looking to get some work done, which seems to happen with more frequency when you have a great tattoo shop right around the corner! read more

I got my tragus pierced and was overall pleased with my experience! Some of the workers were definitely a little sketch but that's to be expected at tattoo/piercing parlor, am I right? The big thing to me was everything seemed to be very clean. New items used every time. Not sure of my piercer's name, nice lady that works the front counter. She was very patient with me and told me all the steps and walked me through everything. I would definitely come back for another piercing! read more

I got a tattoo while on vacation and am very pleased. The shop was clean, the employees were friendly and there was no wait. I walked in and told them what I wanted, Freddie drew it up and got to work. The total time I was in the shop was about an hour and the work looked solid. The pricing was reasonable and I would definitely recommend Alan's if you're looking for a tattoo. read more

I wish I could give no stars. This place has the worst people and they are unbelievably rude. They have no problem with turning down service and have never been treated by a business so terribly. Do not recommend because if I would have gotten my tattoo from here my only memory would have been how awful me and my sister were treated. #hate read more

I brought my brother here to get his ears pierced, just his lobes, but it was a great experience. He thought he forgot his ID, and although they did tell us he had to have it, they were really cool about it. Not snappy with us or annoyed or anything. He found his ID, the girl behind the counter (who's name we didn't catch) was really cool and helpful. Best part was by far Scott who did the piercing. Said he had 23 years experience. Definitely showed. Very friendly, put my brother at ease, had us laughing about how nervous he was, made it a great time. Overall, very quick and easy, very clean and professional atmosphere, definitely recommended. read more

After visiting them earlier this week and getting all the needed information for my niece to get a tattoo, we returned today. A different man (English gentleman) greeted us and gave us different information, telling my sister that she couldn't sign for her own daughter because, although they share the same address on their driver's licenses, my sister having a last name different than my niece (my sister is remarried) disqualifies my sister from signing for her OWN daughter, which is opposite of what we were told few days before. We ended up visiting a second different highly reputable tattoo parlor not far away and my sister could have a different last name with the same address. The guy at Alan's was not helpful and was rude to my sister. Disappointing, but we had a happy ending elsewhere. read more

I have been here a few times and they are very kind but today my friend and I went to get her nose pierced for her Birthday and the lady Christina didn't even clean her nose and shoved the needle through her nose. My friend and I were here on vacation and spur of the moment we decided to get ear piercings. We were a little hesitant, but after searching this placed seemed like the best option. It's a family run business so conversation was easy and the staff was super nice. Our piercer was Stella, one of the daughters, and her personality made the experience. She put us so at ease and had us laughing the entire time! I would definitely recommend but remember it is walk ins so wait time may vary. Overall, it was a great experience!! read more

Went in to get a price with my daughter who needs a parent consent and they treated us like we were lying about being mother and daughter. One of the males stated we needed to have the same last name like this was 1920. People do get remarried etc. and might not carry the same name as their child. I know I might not look "old" but I am too old to play games and take an underaged child to get a tattoo that's not my own. Practice courtesy, it goes far. read more

My wife and I have a few tattoos between us. The first thing that struck us was that we had to speak with some guy at the front rather than directly with the artist. This man took the artwork back to the artist and returned with a quote of $220-$280 for a black and gray. The artist never saw my wife, never asked the size or location of the tattoo, never came out of her/his little studio. The second thing we noticed was a lot of people in the place with no tattoos. This lead me to believe that they are used to squeezing cash out of vacationing suckers looking for their first tattoo. Well, not us. We'll go to our normal artist in Oregon and know the quality of work we'll get for a reasonable price. After reading most the reviews, it does seem they do good and reasonable work for locals, but my feeling was that they like to squeeze the tourists. This was my personal experience. read more

I'm very unhappy with my experience here. My Husband and I got matching tattoos to celebrate our 1 Year Anniversary while we were vacationing in Destin. Well, the ink on my tattoo didn't even last a month before it started coming off!!! This was my 3rd tattoo so I'm no Rookie and I also took all the precautions on the aftercare. I messaged the studio last week to inform them of this and still haven't heard back. No apology. No partial refund. Nothing. I also have pictures to prove what I'm saying but there's nowhere to post them on here. I don't mind sending them to anyone interested in seeing them. Save your money and find somewhere else to go!!! NOT GOOD BUSINESS!!! read more

Just noticed that my review never posted. I'll repost: Love my new tattoo! Sandy did my tattoo as well as a piece on my son. His was much more intricate and Sandy sketched, sized and redid the process until both she and my son were pleased with the sketch. His turned out great and he is real happy with the results (he had a shark jaw tattooed on his elbow...he is working on an ocean themed sleeve). I had coordinates tattooed on my left forearm (for my beloved Austin, TX). Sandy worked through some different fonts and placement options...I love it! Going back this week for some new ink! My husband and I have also gotten tattoos here in previous years. The shop is clean and their prices are very reasonable. Spring Break is a real busy time for the shop, so if you are in town and considering tattoos or piercings, I would definitely recommend and appointment during that time. read more

Sandy was awesome. Great detail and shading on portraits. I would definitely recommend requesting her!

My granddaughter and I wanted to get a Faith, Hope and Love Cross/Anchor Tatoo together on our left foot while at our condo. We were looking for a clean, family oriented place. While eating at The Pancakery, someone highly recommended Alans and Yelp had also directed us there. This was a special event for us both. We called and they were booked. The lady told us that we had to come in and pay us a $50 deposit to make a reservation, which made sense. We went there and they immediately made us feel at home. One of us already had a cross there and one of us needed the entire Tatoo created. Lea, our artist, looked at the drawing and gave us each a fair price. We paid the deposit, filled out the paperwork and left. Later, we came back a bit early and Lea was ready. She was fun, talkative and had great music playing. Used sterilized instruments, explained as she went along. We were impressed that she used her digital art studio to refine and "clean" up the design. My grand niece came along and we laughed and more memories were created. Lea joined in with us and we all enjoyed the experience. She is a true artist. Clean, bright, family owned, great music. Thank you Lea! We appreciated you so much!! You went the extra step in creating extra special memories. read more

Exactly what Kim W said I will say times 2. Reanna is the artist supreme! This was my first tat. I had the design in my head, looked at her art work on their website and I knew that my design was perfect for her talent. I got mine about 4 weeks ago. Reanna matched my vision, plus. I love it and will be returning for the next installment of my sleeve during my next vacation. The store and Reanna's 'studio' were spotless. My art healed without any problem. The whole experience was worth repeating. I don't usually do reviews but I spent literally years(at least 40) finding the right artist. Now I am already formulating the design (in my head again) and really looking forward to my next vacation. read more

My 20-year Army veteran-turned-four-year Government contractor honey decided that it was time to re-pierce his ear and get my name on his chest! This was my second tat and my honey's first and we were excited to share matching infinity symbols with each others name in the loop. Reanna was amazing! She expertly created what we wanted and suggested the perfect placement of her art..above each of our hearts. The tattoos came out awesome! My babe also got his ear re-pierced and it looks great!
