The folks who run the space are friendly and welcoming, the wi-fi is fast, and the on-site kitchen has the coffee and other basics that you'd expect. Pricing also is reasonable, especially for the cafe membership. I plan to use the space again should I need to.

I tend to soak up the environment, so if I'm in a bustling coffee shop, then I'll want to become part of the bustle. Hence, finding an actual co-working space topped my list of to-dos. Luckily, I stumbled across Sprout on Yelp, and even luckier for me, they are one of the few places in Providence to offer a day pass! The pricing was incredible given the free (fast) WiFi, the access to multiple kinds of spaces (including my favorite hot desk area with sprawling desks and large windows--though there are other places to work closer to cubicles if that's your jam), and free coffee/tea. There's even a cute little cafe a few hundred yards away to grab some quick lunch (closes @ 2 pm). The parking was also free (score!), though the lots are shared with an apartment complex/other businesses, so be aware that you may need to circle around a bit to find a spot. Overall, it was a great place to get some work done, and I'd highly recommend checking it out if you're in town for the day/week, and if you need monthly plans (and conference rooms), they've got that, too! Stacey (business manager) was kind enough to give me a short tour when I first signed in, and she had lots of great information to share. 5 stars without a doubt!

I realized…read moreI had two presentations for work, but couldn't drive back to Wilmington and would've had terrible reception at Merck. I considered a couple of coffee shops/cafes, but they were noisy with no good place to plug in my laptop. So, I decided, while my friends were having lunch, to walk to the park/river walk to see if I could find a nice spot to sit and use my phone for Wi-Fi (I know, it was a terrible idea). As I'm walking and praying that there's a spot with minimal distractions and optimal hotspot coverage, I was about to take a shortcut through the bank parking lot and couldn't believe my eyes: The Barn @ Center Hill. It was so perfect. I tried to get in, but the door was locked. Someone happened to be going in, so I asked her if there was space available. Another customer/user came out and suggested I call the manager. I called Kim, and she got back to me in under an hour. She was immensely helpful and I was through the doors working in under 10 minutes. They have lots of options for membership. I only got the half day membership because I don't live near Manchester. But, there's also a full day option, monthly options, all-access membership, and even a private office space option. The place was rustic, but clean. The wi-fi signal reached outdoors to the picnic table, which was perfect on a cool autumn day. And the variety of spaces was invaluable. They even have a kitchenette. I'm not sure how accessible they are for folks with mobility challenges (I didn't get a chance to fully tour the space or ask). I would totally recommend this space. They were an answered prayer. I'm considering going there once a month to work, just to get away from home for a bit.

Kim saved the day when my connection went out completely just hours before an important, all-day meeting being held virtually. She emailed me right back, helped me get into The Barn that morning, and checked in throughout the day to make sure everything was going smoothly. I was able to present during my meeting without interruption, and took care of countless uploads and updates while I was there! I will definitely be back and can't recommend this co-working space enough.

I reached out to Mike at the Bridge of Flowers Business Center and he was very willing to accommodate me by letting me work in the office temporarily. The connections, etc, are great. The other people in the office are very friendly. The location is also ideal -- on the third floor of the building on top of McCusker's Market. There is plenty of parking as well as places nearby for lunch. You can basically choose to work in a cube, desk, or space, and pay a corresponding rate. There are offices, and a meeting room. There is also a kitchen area with a refrigerator (no freezer), dishes, and utensils. The bathroom also has a shower (if for some reason you need that). The business center has actually been here for about 10 years, but it's not heavily promoted. I learned about it from a friend who worked in the office.
