Based on my experience, he engages in this practice to prevent patients from seeking a second opinion advising that they do not need the expensive surgery he is advising. In April of 2026, I visited Ravon Dental for an initial consultation about my gums and possible gum recession. Prior to my visit, I had not experienced any gum discomfort or pain. During the initial visit, Dr. Ravon advised me that I needed major surgery for both my lower and upper gums. Not wanting to do the entire mouth at one time, I scheduled the lower gum surgery. Dr. Ravon completed the surgery on my lower gums using a large amount of tissue from the roof of my mouth. The recovery was quite painful and I am currently still experiencing discomfort from it. When I returned for a follow-up visit a few weeks later, Dr. Ravon advised me that I had to do the upper gum surgery and replace my silver fillings by the end of 2026. In light of the pain I was still experiencing from the April surgery, I sought a second opinion from another periodontist whose office is also located in Beverly Hills and who is internationally recognized for his excellence. The second periodontist I visited advised me that I did not need any work whatsoever on my gums, did not need any fillings replaced, and that anyone who wanted to do any surgery on my mouth "is crazy."
