Upon my arrival, I was informed by a staff member that they would not give me my glasses because an optician was not on-site. The glasses were fully paid for ($700.00) and I made a special trip just to get them. if Target cannot suffjciently staff their optical shops, then they should not offer the service. I came back two weeks later to pick up my glasses (still happy), and after about 3 more weeks I received a text saying I had an outstanding bill. I thought it was a scam and reported it junk. I received an email a couple of days later again saying that I owed $133 for my visit. Confused, I called the number at the office and went through the options. I was sent to an offshore service that barely spoke english and could not explain in detail why I owed more money AFTER my visit was compete for almost a month. After another call I was able to receive another version of my billing statement. It STILL did not detail why I owed an additional $133. The math didn't even work out on the document. I called the number, and again was sent to an offshore call service, and all they would say is, "your insurance didn't pay what we thought." I have reluctantly paid a bill that came a month after I had my appointment and follow up because I don't want to affect my credit. Because I still have not been able to have a detailed explanation of what was/was not paid by my insurance to explain why I owe the additional payment I will 99.9% certainly be going to a different eyescare provider in the future. The medical care was great....the billing/customer service after was awful.

When I showed up (10 min. early) I was told I was put in a hold group and would have to reschedule because I had not confirmed my appointment. I did not get a text to confirm. The impersonal clerk said I should have called them. How would I have known to do that! I should have asked why she didn't call me! She said she could give me another appointment a month away. There was another clerk there who was doing nothing. How about giving her the job to call people who haven't (can't) confirmed. I don't know if this is Dr. Cox's policy or if she even knows what her office staff is doing, but I hope this complaint reaches her. They could have called me but instead Dr. Cox lost a patient. I'll find a practice where the staff treats me better.

The lead time is quite long, but I'm hoping they get her new glasses back to her within a couple weeks. Since she had custom clip on sunglasses added they mentioned it could take 4 weeks! And since my prescription is expired a little more than a year and since the glasses were purchased just over a year, the best they would offer me is 50% off a new prescription for the crappy ass job that they did in producing this one year-old set of freaking glasses, to prevent it from getting scratched. 23 years. I will definitely keep coming back. They offer "digital imaging," which is not covered by insurance, for $29 ($19 every year after). I asked if the images are included in my patient files when I change duty stations. I was told they are not released or included if you request copies of your medical file from them unless you want to pay $92.00, however another eye doc can request them. I asked if they charge the new doc a fee for releasing them and I was told "not usually." Hmmmm... I already paid the $29.00 fee for the digital imaging BEFORE I asked these questions and now regret it, because I do not own the images. I requested my money back for the $29 fee and had no issues.

He has a perfectly reasonable, logical explanation for whatever ails you, and he does whatever he can to explain it to you. He also uses technology that - prior to visiting his office - I hadn't seen in other optometrists' offices, like the camera that takes a big, clear photo of the inside of your eye to check for any horrifying abnormalities and to compare the overall state of their health year after year. The rest of the staff was really helpful. An employee that was awesome helped me pick frames and I personally didn't feel any pressure to buy, just helpful suggestions about the shape and color of the frames. There is a reason Carolina Family Vision was voted "Best Eye Doctor" in Holly Springs this year.
