At the age of 83 Sir Paul Mccartney still puts on a crazy good show!
    Daniel C.

The other day it dawned on me whilst waiting in the merch line at a Paul Mccartney show outside the Alamodome. I was thinking about the finite parking space, which by the time you read this will be a hundred dollars. I thought about the logistics, the hair-brained foresight the progenitors of the Alamodome had. I thought for 30 seconds and realized there was none. The masterminds that brought the shortly lived Fiesta Plaza Mall, where the UTSA downtown campus now resides conjured up this cursed mess. The Alamodome could've been like the opulent or luxurious visions of Houston, New Orleans. But alas, they opted for a cheaper version. Which I believe has short changed the city. A few decades with the odd Post Malone show, UTSA football games or area graduations what is its purpose? It just sits there hunkering. It's aesthetics and architecture are pitiful. A one star denotes if it is so bad then why do I still go? The answer. Simply, there is no where else to go. And I'm not sure creating a new arena will resolve that. This review is beginning to sound like an Op Ed. I will move quickly with my critiques, which are many. The pros: Crickets! The cons: When it was built they forgot to include parking. Be careful parking in the neighborhood, as there are scammers abound. Designers should've created this venue with a parking garage in mind. Instead there are like a hundred available spaces for the 40, 000 person capacity. Even if you find parking it's like scaling Castle Greyskull to get to the entrance area. The security is ultra laxed here. I've gone to a few shows here and they barely wand you. At the Majestic Theater staff will hunt you down if you have a Fun Sized Snicker. Since the shows are of big drawing artists there is no walking space. Walls and walls of people bumping into you. God forbid you have to wait for your company who's gone to the lavatory. Or should I say using it at all. I will tell you having gone to many stalls in my Yelp Life at shows I have experienced the best and the worst. The restrooms are deplorable. The floor is wet with P.P. And a multitude of dudes drunk on $23 dollar Modelos wait in line to wet the floors. There is absolutely no breathing space. The word of the day here is: long lines. Lines for overpriced food and beer. Lines to get to your seat. At that capacity staff are ultra unhelpful. Make sure you are in the right section. I saw ushers tell a guy he had to walk the distance of half a football stadium to get to his seats. Am I ranting too much? Let me conclude this. The seating here is really tight. Even though we got some decent seats I still felt cramped in. The whole night someone kept kicking my seat from behind. The closer you are to floor seats, the longer your trip will be to get drinks, food and the restroom. Furthermore, never mind. City leaders constantly sing the praises of this place. I guess it's easier to proclaim this from box seating that most locals can't afford. The Alamodome is a venue in need of dire repair. Its interior hasn't seen any renovations since the Hemisphere Arena was demolished. But entertainers will continue to come here, especially as ticket prices continue to rise. And people will go to those shows as there is really no alternative venue. If it's any consolation you can wash down your sorrows with $20 dollar nachos and $40 dollar margaritas.

Came for the Breezy Bowl. Nice arena with plenty food options and magnificent sound. The seats are a little close but to be expected for a stadium. Clean bathrooms, convenient self serve check out kiosk for the concussion lines.

It's been a long time since I've came here. My niece was graduating here and was excited to see her and the place again. The Alamodome is huge and has alot of parking (depending on the event you go to, it's best to get there early to get a good spot and dont be surprised on the traffic as it can get somewhat bad). Unfortunately there was a lot of trash outside as we walked to the front door. Wish they cleaned it up a bit more. Also they have signs on what you can bring and the size purse, bag. We did call ahead to confirm what can be brought but when we arrived we were told the opposite. They had a issue with the bags but they ended up leaving us alone as they had to deal with some other big issue happening at the time. It felt a bit unorganized and not enough people to really handle the crowd. Inside was a bit better on trash and plenty of seats to grab. We did order food there and unfortunately the nachos we ordered were stale. The fries and drinks were decent but places like this over price everything. Probably best not to order alot of food here or maybe just a snack or 2 if needed. Overall it was alright and hopefully will be better the next time I come here.

After attending two Men's Final Fours in Arizona (where I live), my friends and I decided to travel to San Antonio to enjoy the 2025 Men's Final Four, which took place at the Alamodome in San Antonio. Four of us traveled from Arizona, Colorado, and Kentucky to enjoy the games. We entered the ticket lottery and received seats in the upper arena only about 5 or 6 rows from the top. The seats were surprisingly still a great view of the basketball court from even that high up. We also took advantage of the elevator for three of the four ways up and down between the two days of basketball games. Even the stairs weren't that bad. We did notice that the food options were much more plentiful downstairs with name brand restaurants while the upper level had more arena-style food resembling more of a typical sporting event. We also found more entertainment options and easy entrances and exits from downstairs, which I guess would be as to be expected. Either way, the condition of the Alamodome, the seats, and the stairs and elevators beat most of the other arenas or stadiums I have been in recently. We also appreciated how close the Alamodome was to the Convention Center and various plazas nearby, where the other Final Four activities were taking place. It was nice to know that people could watch the teams practicing ahead of the game days or enjoy free activities both in the Alamodome and nearby plazas and centers. It was also convenient being close enough to the River Walk to enjoy parades along the river. While there was likely nothing that could be done about it at the Alamodome, the traffic walking from the Alamodome to the other side of the Tower of the Americas was horrendous. Otherwise, it was easy to get around. We did end up parking about a 20 minute walk away to avoid hefty fees. Also, we tried not to order too much food but we were curious as to why caps from water bottles were collected before purchased whereas not all stadiums and arenas do that. The games themselves were incredible! We got three close games where the teams up at the half all went on to lose very close games. We had a very pleasant experience, and we'd consider coming back to San Antonio for more Final Four action in the future, especially if the games are at the Alamodome again!

Came here for Final Four weekend. We attended both the Final Four and Champions game. The stadium is located in a convenient location downtown next to all the hotels which makes it great for walking to and from as the Uber/Lyft prices are always higher for big events like these due to the demand. Entering the outside of the arena & the lines were an easy process. They were definitely prepared with enough staff to check everyone's bags and scanning tickets. There are plenty of door options to enter the actual stadium with lots of signs outside. The food lines weren't too crazy on both nights. Food options could have been better (pizza, hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, turkey legs) but I understand this is not a regular used stadium for a professional or college team. It's a great size arena and the March Madness energy was definitely felt in there!

Had a blast during the Alamo Bowl 2024! The place is big and the attendance was around 63,000 people. The game was between BYU and Colorado University. Lots of people, various places to buy food throughout the venue. Finding. My seats were not hard and the people working are more than happy to help yo

First, trying to get close with many streets closed down and the parking situation sucks. The outside parking lots were the same as the arena lots $40, tho shady areas and only take cash in the outside lots Going and coming just to walk in and out was a pain Women's restrooms always had a line, no matter when, this older stadium was prob designed by men Nearby hotels do not allow the public in and lock their entrances Found a great nose bleed section, super steep too, but wouldn't go back unless I stayed overnight at a hotel nearby. Forget the elevator, be ready to walk up and down, the lines were impossible Thankfully people were civil Sound was great Staff was nice and helpful if you could find them Caution! When booking online they don't tell you about an obstructed view, poor people on the upper sides see nothing! Not even the screens. Look at my pictures, I posted to remind myself for next time, in case I dare return

We attended a Women's Conference and the parking was quite the walk ...(and very pricey) to get inside ...however the inside was air conditioned nicely ..it made it very comfortable ...lots of restrooms and lots of food options, drinks..but on the way out ..it was a nightmare ...nobody directing the traffic at the end of the event ..it was horrible...fortunately once we exited the Alamodome parking lot ....there were police officers directing traffic to get us out! Day 2 of conference ...was better...it seemed more organized and we were out quickly...we were very pleased!

FIRST TIME VISIT!!! So this is our very first visit to this venue and our very first UFL San Antonio Brahmas game. My review is solely on the venue itself, it's staff and amenities. LOCATION: Located just off the freeway near DTSA, the Alamodome has seen a bevy of sports and musical performances, bringing a variety of entertainment for San Antonians and visitors alike for decades. Parking is ample, but many entrances will be blocked off during big events, so prepare to figure that part out on your own or follow the masses. Parking was a whopping $30 for this event. Grounds had quite a bit of litter blowing around. TICKETING & ENTRY: We received free tickets from an outside organization, so tickets were sent to us electronically and upon entering the secured check point (at one of 2 entrances). Our QR codes for our tickets were quickly scanned. This staff was quick and efficient, but not friendly at all. Very impersonal, I felt like livestock being rushed into a slaughter house. LOL! Total human to human disconnect. I later googled and called several phone numbers before I was connected to a live person at the ticket office. She couldn't help me with seat changes and I was forced to locate the box office at the venue. Inconvenient considering different types of staff (security, concession, etc) could not tell me where to find the ticket office. sigh SEATING: we changed our seats to available ADA seating to accommodate for my husband's service dog. The seats at this venue are small, as are the walking spaces in front of each row. No space for Max. With tickets in hand, I approach the ADA seating area on our tickets. There were 2 staff members manning this one area of about 15 seats that were blocked off. Two! Neither could confirm the row and area as defined on our tickets. I'm like, "is this row 19?" They had no idea. They look around us at other neighboring aisles and sections from where they stand with no conclusion. Several uncomfortable moments go by and we're still standing here. Pointing at my ticket, I'm like, is this the ADA area?? They say yes. Good! We're getting somewhere. I point out to them that the row in front of them reads 18, therefore, they must be standing in ADA Row 19. Let's just say the game hasn't even started yet and I've used the Lord's name in vain about 12 times during this interaction. This area has ample space to move through, especially if you have mobility challenges. Or a large pupper in tow. CONCESSIONS: Not a great variety of food and drink selections within a 4 or 5 minute walk in either direction from our section, which is pretty much street level. The venue is small, so I'm surprised so much space was empty and wasted. I couldn't find sweet treats, aside from plant based ice cream (barf) and a handle of convenience store/personal sized packages like Oreos and boxed peanut M&Ms. These were found in their grab and go self service market area. The candy was $5, bottled sodas $6.50, to give you an idea. No fountain drinks were sold. 4 mini carne asada tacos was $16+ tax. I was disappointed to see salsa or hot sauce was not offered upon receiving my tacos. I asked and the girl had no idea if they had hot sauce. She had to ask another worker who had to take my plate back from me and bring it back to the kitchen to add it. To be expected at a venue like this one, but ouch! I would've loved to have seen churros, soft serve ice cream, cotton candy. Sad. MEMORABILIA: Maybe employed by the team itself or by the venue?? But there was a section set aside for sports team swag shopping. The worker couldn't answer half of my questions on merchandise like, "do you sell fitted hats or are they all adjustable?" "Who is the person on that T-shirt?" The answer was "I don't know". I did love the Fiesta medal, but sadly all team merch was blah, underwhelming and super expensive. One trucker hat was $60! A child sized foam football was $30. No kids apparel and nothing fun for the ladies. Overall, the workers are so disconnected from their jobs, they don't know up from down. They go through the motions but don't invest in learning anything of their craft. Keep in mind, though, that these workers are contracted from other staffing companies. But still, this venue should be aware of the staff that are being paid to represent them. And that they suck. Lol! Anyway, would consider visiting again in hopes improvements are made. Please Alamodome! Give me more dining and snacking options! Encourage your staff to smile. Perhaps you need to pay them more to care. I don't know. Just a thought.

Not the prettiest venue, but very functional. I remember way back, when the city paid for a new venue for the Spurs to play in. That didn't last long. That said, I have seen a multitude of other shows in this near downtown venue and enjoyed it for its open concept. If you are on the first floor section you are not too far from the action - whether it be high school football, Runners Football, concerts, or Monster Jam! There are plenty of vendors indoor and outdoors. Plenty of restrooms, and parking and public transportation space are aplenty. I went to the Monster Jam with the kids, and this place gets loud. Tip: Bring ear protection. The cost at home is triple if you decide to buy headphones inside. Grave Digger and Co. provided an excellent show this year.

Every time I come here I enjoy every second with my family. Without a doubt, one of the biggest attraction spots in San Antonio. But in my personal opinion, it's due time for an upgrade. No matter what level you sit in, the seats are tight with little to no knee space.. What's the deal with no fountain drinks? We pay good money to come in and enjoy our event. Why not good food and drinks to go with it ? Wonderful place to create memories with your loved ones. I just wish it was a little more comfortable.

Great venue on the inside. Nice plaza outside. Terrible signage and accessibility for parking (Lot A had a Singh for public parking but we were told it was permit only). Lot C is on the other side of railroad tracks with a convoluted series of stairs and ramps to get to the plaza and entry. Additionally, there was a golf cart coming down the pedestrian ramp making everyone coming up hug the wall so THEY could get by. It took over 15 minutes to get accessible seating at the box office. Then, the usher called me sir & tried to direct us to the wrong seats in the bowl. Dude, you're in the accessible seating area and you don't know how to read an accessible seat assignment? On a positive note, in-seat ordering is available. The facility is very clean, and the concourse are exceptionally wide.

Do the parking lots accept credit cards?

Unfortunately, not. Cash or pre-paid event-parking tickets only.

Has anyone attended a concert at the Alamodome? If so, where would you recommend sitting to get the best sound?

It's been awhile, but the best sound I've gotten out of the dome was close to or on the floor. The worst is (of course) nose-bleed section. But for the right concert ie.… Read more

The atmosphere inside the stadium was electric fans were into it, music was on point, and you could really feel that playoff energy. One of the biggest wins for me was the front row parking super clutch and made the whole night smoother. Drinks were solid (a little pricey, but expected at a game), and the restrooms were surprisingly clean considering how packed it was. On a personal note, I even connected with someone there that could turn into a great business opportunity, so that made the night even more worth it. Only downside was the service. It felt slow and a bit unorganized at times, especially when trying to get attention or place orders. Overall, great vibes, great crowd, and a memorable nighteven walked out with a win on my bet. I'd definitely come back, just hoping the service improves next time.
