This used to be a pretty solid car wash, but it seems to have taken a bit of a nosedive as of late. If you want to pay nearly $40 for a spotty, streaky mess, you'll be very satisfied with their work. The workers will also help themselves to whatever change is left in your cup holders, so you don't need to feel pressured to tip.
Yes this place is kinda Expensive but they do a great job so I don't mind paying up if they do what is promised & it looks good! Workers are doing their best out there & the work shows. Was happy with my wash!
Since my last review, Alamo has become my regular hand-wash car wash location. I usually get the "Gold" wash package, which includes a full-service hand wash, rainbow wax, sealer & polish wax, clear coat sealant, chassis bath, rust inhibitor, exterior treatment, and an air freshener (choice of several scents). I thought they did a great job on getting my incredibly dirty car clean, inside and out! They have both indoor and covered outdoor waiting areas. Also, a small convenience store with car accessories, drinks, snacks, etc. There's also a small restaurant called Lov Ch Ch (café, breakfast/brunch, desserts) that's in the same shopping center. Good place to wait for your car to be completed.
I like it. It's like an old school car wash with a modern twist. Basically there are people that vacuum when you drop your car off. They move it on to the conveyor and your car gets sprayed down by the pre-wash mixture. Actual people, one on each side, wipe the car down...then it travels down where it gets a thorough rinse. Once outside there are people that wipe down the outside and inside of the car. I remember car washes like this being like $20 back in the day, but today I paid $38 for the gold package with a $5 tip. My mom's car is on the bigger side and sometimes other places charge more for that. All in all I am satisfied with the service. It took around 30-40 min to complete. My car was nice and shiny, everything felt clean and had the fresh lemon scent. I went during my lunch time, so i ordered ahead to Wallace chicken around the corner. Once my car was done, swung by the chicken place, picked up and got back to work on time.
Good car wash place! The car came out clean and thorough! It took about 30 minutes and price was reasonable! I would recommend!
I Pay for the highest tier and didnt even get what i paidfor, rims not even touched. Cleans my tires last gets the black stuff on the sides of the car. Taking short cuts . Half windshield cleaned what the heck Edited: manager helped sort things out and made package clear while helping what another worker missed to clean
If I could give zero stars, I would. I've been to Alamo Car Wash in Walnut about five times only because it's close to my house, but after today I refuse to ever come back. Every single time it has been something, but today with Antonio was the last straw. I pulled up around noon, made it obvious I was waiting, and still got ignored while a guy who showed up after me got serviced first. When I confronted him in Spanish to make sure there was no confusion, he brushed me off with some nonsense about putting us together. That's not how customer service works and that moment already told me this place doesn't value its customers. The real deal breaker came when he opened my car door without a care in the world, banging it against equipment like it was nothing. When I called him out on it, his answer was "this doesn't scratch." That made me furious because it's not about whether the item can scratch, it's about how careless he was with my car. His attitude was immature and dismissive and when I asked for a manager, suddenly the manager was off for the day. When I asked for a supervisor, apparently none existed. Instead of accountability, Antonio literally walked away from me while I was speaking to him. That was the final confirmation that this business is unprofessional, careless, and disrespectful. I don't care if Alamo Car Wash in Walnut is the closest to my house, I will gladly drive the extra fifteen minutes to La Puente Hand Car Wash where the service is respectful, professional, and my car actually comes out looking clean. If you are thinking about trying Alamo, save yourself the stress and just go to La Puente Hand Car Wash instead because they know how to treat both people and cars the right way.
First of all, they just told me they don't have anyone to do interior and can only wash exterior. Other than that, they said a 911 is too low and they can't wash it, seriously? No wonder no one is here
Great service. Not too expensive. I paid $45 for a full wash. Only reason I have a 4 stars is because the amount of time it takes! Be prepared to wait an hour for an inside/outside wash. Also, I didn't get any type of air freshener which I feel should have been added to the package!

I have been here on a couple of occasions. Always impressed by the detail they take to clean my car. I know that service can vary since employees come and go but I have zero complaints. Alamo has just lost a loyal customer, thanks to their failure to uphold good customer service standards. My family and I were just there this morning for a car wash and after they had finished cleaning my car and I finally pulled out of the work area, I heard a sound as if I hit or drove over something. I tried to ignore the sound but about a minute after, I noticed that my tire pressure light was on. I then proceeded to Firestone which was just on the next block, to get my tires pumped with air (I had assumed it was a simple case of my tire lacking air). As their mechanic was measuring and filling air into my tires, he noticed that the front right tire was at 20 psi compared to the other 3 that were 31, 32, 32, respectively. They recommended a full inspection and sure enough, they found a SCREW stuck in my front right tire (I took a pic and I'll be posting it)! Unfortunately, the damage was non-patchable so the tire had to be replaced. We requested the mechanic to remove the screw so I could go back to Alamo and speak to their lead guy or whoever could possibly help me. We went back to Alamo and spotted their lead guy (I don't know his name, but he usually wears a faint yellow long-sleeved button shirt, has a thick mustache, and is typically the one who takes your preferred type of service), and the guy who took my order in his behalf. I explained the situation: told them I just came from Firestone, SHOWED THEM THE SCREW and the picture I took of my tire with the screw in it. Even mentioned the loud popping sound we heard when we pulled out. I was very irritated and disappointed when all they could tell me was, "we don't have nails or screws on our work area," without even a courtesy apology or an offer to further investigate the matter. I was not expecting them to give me a refund for the service, but they could have AT LEAST given me the courtesy of good, appropriate customer service. Given all details above, I am no longer going back to Alamo. Their service was good until today. read more

Came here on a Thursday afternoon around 2:30 place wasn't that packed but it took about 45 mins for my car to be ready. There was about 15 cars in the que waiting to be dried and waxed but the only problem is they only have enough workers to service about 5 cars at a time. That's why there is such a long wait! Major plus about this place is that there is plenty seating and very nice decor for a car wash. Major negative is how understaffed they are here! As for the wash they do an above average job I suppose for their basic services. read more

I have been coming here continuously and constantly take good car if my car and keep up on its maintenance. Today I paid for a gold wash and waited outside instead of watching my car go through as they washed it... OBVIOUSLY A MISTAKE! as the guy pulls my car around to dry after going through the wash he is taking forever to get out and then 2 other workers show up one which was the manager. I asked is there a problem? They said yeah your car won't move in neutral or stay in park... I go that's funny because when I pulled in to vacuum and parked it stayed right there! Frustrated he walked off and said I'll get someone to dry it off I'm sitting here waiting with no updates and their trying to blame me! And every time I ask each worker walks away or says idk! This is ridiculous I will never return! This is horrible management he didn't even address the issue and forced his worker who didn't even speak English to try to tell me it's my fault! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR NEVER COME HERE! I will NOT be returning! Now my car was taken without me even being told or escorted to a transmission shop! Again the manager from the Alamo car wash did not say a word to me or even take my blue slip I received what a horrible experience! THIS WILL NOT BE COMING OUT OF MY POCKET! I tend to give most businesses two chances. I'm the hard headed type who needs to learn his lesson twice. First visit was about a month ago. Came in with a small sedan mid afternoon. Everything went okay. Sub par wash and sub par customer service. Attention to detail is not something to look for here. Car was finished and when we went to claim the car, the keys were no where to be found. The employee said the car turns on so the keys must be somewhere in the car. After saying so, they felt they had no more responsibility for finding the keys. Second visit, October 3rd, 2019. Came in with a SUV. Line seemed pretty short when dropping off. Vacuum crew was friendly and seemed to do a good job. Washing crew basically just went through the motions of just rubbing your car with towels as the car went through the machine. Finishing crew was massively understaffed! My SUV was parked furthest from the seating area where half the car was exposed to the sun without any cover. The car sat there for 10 minutes and had hard water spots before anyone even came to attend to the car. The staff ran it through the wash again without me asking. Only took 6 minutes for the SUV to emerge again. Only to sit and be left unattended for another 8 minutes. . . Umm okay, . . At the same time, there was about 8 other cars unattended. This business only assigns one person per car for the finishing touches. Sitting here for over 50 minutes. It takes an average of 20 minutes per car per person. In addition, it seems like there's no particular order to which car they will attend to next. So you'll have people who come after you leave far ahead of you. Call me crazy but they would probably be much faster and do a better job if they assign two people per car and attend the cars in order. . . Anyhow, after sitting here for 50 minutes, my SUV is finally done. No honk or anything, they just drive the SUV off to the side and walk away. If I wasn't watching, I guess I would just sit for another 50 minutes? I check over the car and I'm sorely disappointed just like my first visit. 2 Stars because they didn't outright damage the car and the car is relatively clean. For what they charge.. you would expect good service this is my 3rd car wash with Alamo and they suck. A simple damp rag would do the job, maybe customers need to stop tipping or going to a drive thru wash and cleaning it yourself. read more

Checked their website and called in to speak with someone about shampooing my floor mats. They even gave me an estimate. Headed down there to only be turned around after being told "we don't do that." Complete waste of time. Never again. Fairway car wash here I go! LOL read more

I've been here twice, the first time was okay I guess since I had no complaints but this second time was horrible. So I rolled in there and decided that I'll do the gold wash this time and paid the $24 for it. After about an hour, got my car and didn't bother to check (bad move). Later in the day around 7pm, I noticed some black marks all over the interior of the car, trunk, and for some reason, my floor mats were out of place. I've attached all the awesome photos of them for everyone's viewing pleasure. I normally don't like writing bad reviews unless a place really strikes a nerve and this place did just that. If only I found it sooner, I would have drove back there to point it out. I mean gold wash folks, not bronze or silver, but GOLD with TIP. It wasn't even that busy that day which probably fueled my anger more considering they had no need to rush. read more

They did a great job on cleaning but it was way too long (about an hour and 15mins). I came on Tuesday at 8am figuring there wouldn't be that many cars. It was decent but my car sat in the drying area for about 30mins before they started working on it. read more

Okay let's start the story...Once upon a time... I've done my research looking for a great hand carwash place because Im planning to just stick with one and earn my business there. I was in denial not believing the previous reviews who complains on their so called GOLD SERVICE to be bad! So I decided to go there and give them a try. There are cars there, pretty busy, but not as busy as last 2 Sundays. I would say is pretty normal for an established business like them. So, I would like to talk about their professionalism. First, I found a coupon online that says "$2 off any wash, expired on 10/15/15" I went in to the line, talking to the first guy, who is in charge for the vacuuming, right away he said that the coupon cant be accepted. However, after asking him couple questions, he said that he can honor the coupon (with a sad face just so that I can get off his way). Secondly, I went inside to the cashier, asking him about the coupon that I have. He was nice enough to explain why the coupon cant be used. He said that, someone who they didnt know put it up there and they cannot take it down. Well, as an established business I think they should be able to take the coupon down if they cant honor that anymore. Anyway, he offered me a better deal after that (to buy three 'GOLD' carwash for full price and the wash that day is free of charge). I right away agree to that looking and assuming at all the "services" they will do to my car. Thirdly, here comes the nightmare. Excitingly walking to see my car after the 'honk', I took my time checking their work. BUT guess what I found. My 2 of my floor mats were upside down, in the back was just thrown towards the corner of each sides. MOREOVER, they DID NOT vacuum the driver floor mat, which I think needs the MOST attention! All dirts are still there. Thus, I got out the car and asked them to re-vacuum my car. The guy who is in charge looks sad to see me again! He drove my car with quite a speed, which I dont really mind, but maybe some other customers will mind tho (just saying). Fourth, they 'honk again for the second time, and I went again to check. Yes, this time they did quite OKAY (i still do a better job with whatever vacuum I have at home), but whatever, I dont expect for a PERFECT service. I went out the drive way, but this time I did not smell anything nice in my car! THEY DID NOT PUT AIR FRESHENER to my car! Drive back in and ask why, then the same guy this time (kinda feeling sorry, but DID NOT APOLOGIZE whatsoever! except giving me excuses "you come when we are pretty busy!) WELL, HELLLOOOO??? WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ME FROM THE VERY BEGINNING??? I COULD HAVE DRIVEN OFF TO ANOTHER CARWASH PLACE AND DIDNT HAVE TO COMMIT TO YOUR 3 GOLD SERVICE CARWASH THAT TURNS OUT TO ONLY BE THE CHEAPEST SERVICE YOU DID TO MY CAR. At this point, he did what I asked, spraying my floor mats with my choice of air freshener. Fifth, I drove out DISAPPOINTED, and guess what I found when I was looking at my car while filling up the gas. crazy WATERMARKS flowing down from my passenger side mirror half the way down the body! I SHOULD HAVE TAKEN THE PICTURE FOR YOU TO SEE before I cleaned it up. AND.... I notice that all the yellow and white spots on my roof are still there!!! this time I remember to take a picture of it for your pleasure. Sixth, I also notice that in "GOLD" service they have such a thing called WINDOW TREATMENT, but in all four windows all I see is WHITE LINE ACROSS MY WINDOWS AND WATERMARKS. I DIDNT KNOW THAT IS WHAT YOU MEAN BY WINDOW TREATMENT, i guess I shouldn't treat my window if that is the outcome! so yeah, my overall experience here was EEEKKK...and this was my first time as well, what a GREAT WAY to impress your customer! I hope they realize how powerful YELP is to bring their company down! I can let go of these things if it happens to my 10th or 11th visit to the store, but this was my FIRST time! So I go in today around 5:30 to get a wash, I got the diamond package!! Upon leaving!! I did a quick inspection of my vehicle!! I paid a little extra to get the dressing applied to my car!! Not only they did not do that they also didn't vacuum the car right, they washed the floor mats, and they put it back in the car with paper covering it, instead of putting it in the trunk and letting me know about it. I have photos of the so called diamond package! They really need to step up there detailing. $35 for a wash and tip is ridiculous. read more

Convenient and nice location. The process is easy enough: pull up to the car wash, tell the guy which package you want (what you get for each package is listed on the signs which makes it easy), he gives you a receipt and you take it inside to pay. You can watch your car go through the car wash as you walk by the window, then pay at the register. There's usually a good number of people (at least every time I'm here there is...I'm usually here on the weekends though), so the hand drying/detailing process may take a while. This is where it's helpful to have your smartphone/tablet to do some work or play games haha. You can check out some nice cars as well. They do a pretty good job, very detail-oriented. You can tell they care about your car, which is nice. It's not something I'd do often though since it is a tad on the pricey side for me and my budget. They don't open on rainy days, obviously. If it's rainy in the morning and clears up, call ahead just to be sure that they're open. My bf and I planned to come on a day where it had rained early morning and cleared up; I'm glad we called because there was someone there, but they weren't open. read more
