I had to use the restroom. They told me go outside while I went outside. It was locked when I went right back inside. They told me I need a key after I was already waiting 15 minutes then they started laughing then they told me the bathroom is closed. ... I've switched from Chevron because of this Shell station. The pumps work well and it is clean and the service is top notch. This station has a car wash that has a prewash set up to wipe off bugs and fenders. Alamo residents jump out and get it done. read more

These folks need a lesson in customer service. We stopped by here for some bottles of water and to use the restroom. I went inside, paid for two bottles of water, and I asked the cashier for the restroom key. He starting rambling in very broken English. He was making no sense, in spite of me making it obvious that I just wanted the restroom key. Finally, someone came into the gas station with the restroom key, which I took from that customer and proceeded to use it. Very filthy restroom, by the way. I came back to give the key, and the guy asked me why I don't understand English well. Ironic, huh? I leave the key on the counter, and headed back to my car. This is the funniest experience I've had thus far at a business. read more

Literally the worst people on the face of the earth. Read all the reviews. Their vacuum machine took my money, but the only thing that sucked was the owners attitude. He said the machine does t belong to them and to call the number on the machine for a refund. The number goes to a medic-alert type company. He flat out refused to return $1.50 AND STILL HASN'T PUT AN 'OUT OF ORDER' SIGN ON THE MACHINE. When I originally spoke to him on his rude employee's phone, he was at another one of his gas stations in Walnut Creek. I told him the phone number on the machine was incorrect, and his response was that if I would pay for his gas, )which I thought was ironic being that he's a gas station owner)he would come to Alamo and prove to me that the number was correct. This guy is a rude, lazy piece of garbage, and I am going to actively work to have his Shell franchise taken away. I know it seems petty to be bitching and moaning about $1.50. For some people, that might represent nothing, but they took my money that I paid taxes on, and gave me grief in return. Awful, awful people. read more

Went to get gas and a carwash. While we were about to get the car wash, it asked us to move forward, stop, and all of a sudden it stopped working so we decided to move forward a little bit to hopefully trigger a sensor that someone was in there but it didn't work. I called their phone line and got hung up. Second time I was firm and couple of mins a guy came out pissed and lecturing us even though were explaining what had happened. Asked us to go inside the store for a new carwash code and same thing the guy that came out to lecture us started saying that we should follow the instructions (which we did initially) but he wont listen to REASONING. I just ended the convo by sarcastically saying "GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE". Just an FYI, they have a log book of customers that had the same problem with their carwash. Doesn't that tell you that there is a fucking problem??? Go somewhere else these people are the absolute worst. read more

Went here for gas and a car wash - they have newer pumps which is nice! Got my code for the car wash on the receipt and got in line. There were about 5 cars in front of me, so took about 20 minutes to get through - all good. There's a bucket and brush you can use on your car before it's your turn to go in the car wash - great little pre wash, and they provide towels at the end so you can dry your car off before you leave. 10 out of 10! read more

Credit card payment for far wash was not operating. With line of cars behind me I paid cash and got a receipt with instruction to collect change inside (change machine at wash also btoken). I go inside and a delivery man was getting an ass chewing from a store EE. I presented my receipt to other store EE who challenged me several times telling me i needed to pay with exact change - which I did not have. After explaining this a d the line of cars behind me he still challenged me before slapping the dollar on the counter and shouting at me on my way out " Don't come back here, I don't want to see you in this store again." I turned around and walked back to him and replied, "that is a promise, and why don't you get the $#@! out of our town you @#$^^$#@!! Been through their car wash three times in the last two weeks. After soaping and the brushing cycles finish, the drying cycle starts. It won't rinse the soap off your car. This is very hard on your paint as there are strong chemicals used in the soap. I have complained each time and even showed them the dried, streaked soap on my paint. They refuse to refund me which sucks because have to go thru the Chevron car wash in Danville, and pay them, to wash off the soap. read more

BEWARE of the Shell Gas Station Car Wash on Stone Valley and Danville BLVD $200 damage on my brand new SUV. On March 7, 2022, I filled my tank with gas and bought a car wash. I went through the car wash as I have done before, but this time, as I went to dry my car, I found that the car wash ripped my rear wiper blade completely off. I walked into the wet car wash to retrieve the broken parts. I found what I could and went inside to speak with the gas station manager. I was told to fill out a report and someone will call me in 2 days. It's been almost 7 weeks and no one has reached out to fix this problem or return my phone calls. I have gone back in there to speak with the gas station manager and I've also contacted the car wash manager multiple times. They will not take responsibility for the $200 damage that the car wash caused. Nowhere outside the car wash does it say that one should enter at own risk. I will take my gasoline and car wash needs elsewhere. Rotten Robbie is right down the road and is always cheaper. read more

I never thought I'd be this passionate about a Gas Station Car Wash, but do yourself a favor and leave your car dirty - don't pay for this car wash! In fact, I don't even think I'd use it for free! I was in Alamo and needed gas and thought a quick car wash would be nice. So I picked the Shell because the Chevron across the street doesn't have a wash, I had never tried it before so it may be fabulous? WRONG. I paid for the highest one ($10 I think?) It was slow. It is super old. It didn't wash anything off my car. The foam was only coming out one of the three sprayers, and when the "dryer" was going by it was still spilling foam all over my car. They know that your car will still be soaked when it finishes, so they politely offer towels, great! WRONG again. The towels are small and very rough, I used it to wipe off the foam, dry off my windshield, and that was it. Too much effort for my car that was still dirty. I won't return to this car wash, and probably won't ever get gas there again just out of principle! Head over to the Chevron in Danville if you are looking for a quick wash (and DRY) that'll actually work! read more

What do you expect from a gas station? This ain't it. After a long drive on the freeway, I got gas (overpriced) and my wife used the restroom. The door stuck, she couldn't get out. Dishonest pricing. Items advertised with big signage next to them but you are charged a completely different price. Pure leaf teas adv. 2/$3 (+ crv additional). Charged 1.80 each + crv (bought 2) plus other items. I noticed the expected bill has higher thsn it shouldve been so i requested a reciept. Called out and the cashier on the price overages and he was rude and confrontational. I showed him the signs and he said "well the price has changed". When. I told him he obviously overcharged me he seriously said "what difference does it make??" I said you charged me almost a dollar over for my few items I got. He got rude and finally offered a refund but I refused and told them that they are dishonest. Add that up x whatever amount of items that are sold each day. Very sad buisness practice!! read more

Wow! This was a terrible experience. The cashier working was so rude that I will never return to this station. The printed receipt cutoff before my wash code printed. So i went inside and asked him to help me. He said i needed to tell him the pump number. I told him it was on the receipt which he was holding. He input the wrong number pump and told me i had to come back in the morning to resolve the cost. I walked out and checked the pump number realizing he had input the wrong one. I went back in and asked if he could retry with the corrected number. He reluctantly did and was able to give me the wash code. I said thank you and as i turned around he told me that "it was my fault". I asked him what he said and he repeated it. I laughed and left. read more

I had the same problem as others, went inside because I couldn't find the car wash code on my receipt, and the man working there was very rude towards me. I was able to get my refund, but (since I didn't know that the machines had an issue printing codes) when I asked him how/where to find the code on the receipt in the future, he snapped at me saying I got my money and don't need the code anymore.... okay... Nothing wrong with the gas station itself. However they have a known issue in which the receipts are not printing car wash codes despite them being purchased. After taking my receipt into the store and bringing this up, the clerk gave me grief accusing me of not purchasing one and didn't want to give me a receipt showing the code I had indeed purchased. After showing him the receipt he complained about how She'll won't fix the problem. I mentioned that they should at least put a temporary sign up saying to go inside for the receipt but he let me know in a not so eloquent way that it is not his job... Totally agree with the multiple comments regarding rude and incompetent cashiers. I usually don't write reviews against businesses, but after the third separate incident, I've decided to agree with all those with similar complaints. This had happened a couple of times before too, so I went inside to tell them and her response was looks clean to me, we just had it serviced. I left my number for the manager and no response. Really don't like getting gas or a wash here. Always a bad experience. Staff are rude and unhelpful when machines don't work. Have never been able to get a smooth wash here. Minus one star for price of gas. But what do you expect when you're in Alamo. The four stars are for the car wash. The efficacy is pretty unreal for a gas station car wash. It's quick and easy, and they have a scrub brush before hand to get off tough spots and a bucket of towels to wipe off remaining water droplets afterwards. Pretty great! read more

Paid $10 for the top car wash with all the extras. Prewashed my SUV with the available brush while I was waiting. Car was dirty on top with gritty sediment when I exited the wash bay. I returned to the store and asked to run the car through again. Attendent said my car was clean until I insisted he climb up on the tire to see the obvious dirt. He asked me to write my name and number on the receipt then opened the till and gave me my money back. I said, I don't want the money, I want to run through the wash again. At this point, he started yelling. He said we have your name and number, don't ever come back here. And I won't. Nuff said. read more
