When I drove into the area back on May 25, 2025, I was taken aback by how much this area of San…read moreAntonio had changed. The street that I remember driving in front of the Alamo many years ago is now non-existent! I am really digging the Alamo Plaza, though. From what I understand, the plan is to make it entirely pedestrian-friendly - no more vehicular traffic. Thus, much of the surrounding area is still under construction, but most areas in front of the Alamo are safe. This plaza is not the same as the Plaza de Valero, which is in front of Menger Hotel. Just ensure to wear loose, breathable clothing and drink plenty of water on the really warm to hot Texas days... a young lady in a tour group I was in passed out and hit her head on the concrete of the plaza. She (or rather her boyfriend) refused medical attention. I don't know if she's okay now, but it seemed serious at the time. PARKING I think your best bet with all the ongoing construction would be at the Rivercenter Parking Garage. TIP The building west of the Alamo will be the new Alamo Visitor Center and Museum. A grand opening for 2027 has been slated.

I was pretty disappointed in this pumpkin patch. Visited today and was expecting it to be a lot better and a lot cheaper. I probably shouldn't have such high hopes. The parking is such a pain since it's right on the access road, I can only imagine how many accidents there might be since this location is new to everyone. We waited in the line for 20 minutes to enter (got there at 12PM on Sunday when it opened). It was pretty busy to say the least and it was the smallest pumpkin patch area ever. For as much as they have to offer, it would've been a lot better if they had expanded. It was pretty busy and hard to move around without bumping people or cutting in front of people who were waiting in the lines. The admission was $5 per person, kiddos are free under 16 years (which is a huge bonus). But once you get inside, be prepared to spend waaaay more than just $5. Each activity costs so much tickets (1 ticket = $1). The cow train was 3 tickets, hayride was 3 tickets, petting zoo was 3 tickets, the moonbounce was 3 tickets, riding the pony was 5 tickets, bouncing on this insane jumping machine was 5 tickets. Overall, A LOT of money can just be blown out the window from this place. It was nice, but it's unlikely I would ever go back. The people working at the entrance and at the food concessions were pretty grumpy too, not happy as I expected them to be. The area I really enjoyed was the actual pumpkin patch area, it was great to take photos and A LOT of pumpkins to choose from. The moonbounces were freaking crazy, my son got on the bottom of a bunch of kids and were trampling him, thankfully I was there to get him out but it would've been good to have people monitoring the moonbounces or at least make the parents supervise their children. I definitely wouldn't go back to this pumpkin patch and I would probably not recommend it to people. It might be because I visited South Texas Maize and had such a great time. It's $10 per person there (kids 2 and under are free) but everything is included in the price. It's worth the extra drive and the extra cost on the admission to just go elsewhere!

Heads up, the price to get in was a shock at first. Something like $49.00 for 2 adults and 2 kids. I had a mini stroke . Then I saw how excited the girls were about the hay ride, barrell train, huge sand pit, a small petting zoo, TONS of playground equipment, cornhole, outdoor bowling, a basketball hoop, an old firetruckand and so much more. I was excited that all activities were included in the cost. Plenty of photo opps. Great prices on basic snacks, drinks and of course pumpkins. They also had wagons we could use. The kids enjoyed painting their pumpkins. I enjoyed not needing to clean up a mess at home afterwards. The staff was great too.

The kids were able to pet and feed the farm animals, play on the playground (they loved the swing carousel), launch potatoes in the potato launchers, go on a tractor pulled hay ride and the highlight was the pony rides. All though the weather was hot; Julie provided us with a generator to run an industrial fan at our assigned pavilion. We were able to host a party for 50+ adults and children at an affordable price. If you are looking for a unique experience and venue for a party, I would recommend Owl Creek Farms (ask for Julie, she is very responsive). Thank you Owl Creek Farms, Julie, Tucker and Abby for helping us make this event a success.

The majority of works are priced between $1k and $7k. A large variety of styles are available. What caught our eye was work using a particularly interesting color palette, located on the righthand wall. Basically, bright rainbow colors within very dark blue outlines and a dark background. Very eye catching and interesting to look at. The artist for those paintings happened to notice us admiring them and proceeded to explain why he decided to start painting them in this particular style and showed us some of his prior work in this style. Overall, pretty chill (if a bit quiet) and informative, with artwork from local artists.

They have a bunch of paintings all around a central theme: San Antonio, Texas. They've got wonderful paintings of the Riverwalk, so many paintings of the Alamo, and longhorn cattle. Windmills, and blue bonnet flowers. All of the things that you love about Texas. When we went, they had an artist in the corner who was vibing out and doing some live painting while we browsed! The paintings went from small scale, that'd you'd hang in a bathroom, to large scale that'd be at home in the centerpiece of any Texas ranch! The staff was there and made sure we knew that the artists were all local and that they ship to the lower 48 states, no matter how big the painting. The gallery was inviting and well lit, and they offered plenty of room to be able to take in all the art. There's a wide variety of artists, all doing cool stuff. It really is inspirational to see how artists see our beautiful city! They have counters set up that look like they could host events with some wine and cheese while you check out the art. Nom!
