The aisles are organized and clean. They have an assortment of international teas, spices, curry, produce in the back, frozen food, rice, nuts, Hindu religious products etc. I would recommend checking items before purchasing as I noticed some had expired. The prices range from inexpensive to pricey. I love that they have digestive cookies, unfortunately I didn't see the brand I like so I tried a different one which was decent. I don't see myself returning, but I'm glad they updated the store.

The spot is just west of Denton Hwy. on Basswood in a little strip center on the north side. It's a small store, but it was organized well and I was easily able to find what I was looking for. They had the paste! They also had a large variety of spices so I took the opportunity to stock up on curry spices. It is definitely a better deal to purchase here instead of Kroger. The large chain stores like Kroger might have 1 or 2 options when in comes to curry or any international spices or ingredients and the charge way more. If you are looking for any specialty Indian food or ingredients then I'd definitely recommend stopping in Amma's! When I'm in the area this will be my go to spot.

I told her you have already charged my card for this and opened my banking app to show her and had printed confirmation in my hand. She did not offer to help me at all, just told me how to order next time. I called my bank and reported this immediately as fraud! Something is fishy about this whole deal, I totally understand a glitch in the system but, with no offer to help only telling me how to do it next time is ridiculous! Do not order on their website unless you have some free time on your lunch break to call your bank, press 20 options, and wait 15 minutes for assistance!!!

I've been shopping at this Indian grocery store for over a decade, and honestly, I didn't even…read morerealize you could review grocery stores on Yelp until recently. That said, I feel like this place really deserves a fair and balanced review because it's definitely a hit or miss. Over the years, I've learned you have to be very careful when shopping here. I've come across packaged spices and snacks that were already expired, and in some cases, it even looked like new dates were printed over old ones. The quality didn't help either, the taste and texture were clearly off. Even with staples like lentils, it's worth double checking before buying. One experience that really stood out was when my dad bought cinnamon sticks from here. He was convinced they were fake because they literally tasted like plain wood...no aroma, no flavor, nothing. He was so frustrated that we actually went back to return them, even though we didn't end up getting a refund. Another ongoing issue is pricing at checkout. I've noticed multiple times that I've been overcharged, never less, always more. Sometimes I've been charged multiple times for a single item. When I've gone back to point it out, the response is usually just a quick apology, and nothing is really done to fix it. Because of this, I've started checking my receipt before I even leave the store. That said, I do want to highlight something positive. Recently, they opened a pani puri stand, and it was genuinely impressive. It tasted just like authentic street-style pani puri, fresh, flavorful, and really satisfying. That alone made me want to write this review. Overall, I'd rate the pani puri , but the grocery side of things is closer to . Definitely shop with caution, double-check your items and your receipt, but if you're stopping by for pani puri, it's worth it.

Glad to have Chef Jacob back in the area and in full swing!…read more One of the best when it comes to authentic Kerala cuisine--and really, Indian dishes overall. I actually drove from Austin to Irving just to pick up some of our favorites: fish curry, beef curry, vada, and more--dishes my children and grandchildren truly enjoy. Since moving from Michigan four years ago, I had high expectations of finding authentic flavors around Dallas, but was often disappointed. So discovering that Chef Jacob is back was a real delight--and well worth the trip. The food was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Everything was ready on time, and the quality exceeded expectations. Our whole family thoroughly enjoyed it. Kudos to the new management as well--the place is clean, well-organized, and very professionally run. Way to go, Chef Jacob and the entire team! Highly recommended. Tom Johns Austin, TX
