Had to call 911 because there was a car in my driveway.. sounds weird, but I'm in a moblie home…read morepark, and this never happens. I thought there may have been someone in my home either robbing it or waiting for me to go in and check it out and be attacked. I don't know all of my neighbors yet, and I did not recognize the car. I've been in my new home for about 2 months. Waited about 45 min for a response. Understandable as there was no *immediate* danger....and of course domestic situations and shootings take precedence. The officer called first before coming over. They ran the plate and realized it was one of the neighbors. On the phone he said he'd go to their house and tell them to move it. When he arrived, he started talking about having it towed. And then, got a bit mad when we said we didn't want THAT to happen for fear of retribution, etc. Then he made a snide comment to me about how he'll go talk to the neighbor because the domestic violence and robberies can just wait. I was a taken aback by that comment. It was very rude and condescending. We didn't need him to stay for an hour so we could do an intervention or "talk about it". It was a quick talk-to in hopes he could get them to move thei r car. If that didn't work....then we'd go to the tow company... The 911 dispatchers were awesome. The cop was obviously under stress and I understand that completely. They were short staffed. But, I still appreciate him handling the situation for us. I appreciate all they do. Come to find out, the neighbor's guest parked in the wrong driveway!! So they apologized and quickly moved it! One huge misunderstanding! All's well now.

is there funding given to the hpd department or and agency assigned that is supposed to be out in…read morethe field advocating with the unhoused community? if so hpd why do i do not see any officers or adobe or bacs advocating for housing placement food showers treatment etc? many of the unhoused are deficating and urinating all over the city and in the parking structure at the main library and at city hall where the community pays taxes and have to walk our kids to school. what are the long term goals for treatment and beds and education? many need treatment and a place to stay and food. where are the advocates and what are you doing with the funding?

My backpack was stolen from my car yesterday while I was picking up my son from the daycare on…read morecampus. It was about 5pm and time was tight because I had to stop by McDonald's for dinner and then take my son home, and then turn around and come back to campus for my 6:30pm class. Because of this, I didn't roll up my windows. I was gone but 5 minutes. I didn't realize my bag was stolen because I didn't notice it was gone until after we got back in the car at McDonald's. Even then, I thought that maybe I had been mistaken and had never actually taken it with me, but rather, left it in my office. When I came back to school at 6:15pm and checked my office, it was not there. That's when I realized that it had, in fact, been in my car and must have been taken. There was nothing of value to anyone else in my bag, but I had my USB stick in there with the ONLY copy of my term paper and 3-page bibliography -- DUE THAT NIGHT at 6:30pm -- plus, virtually all my lesson plans, handouts, and PowerPoints that I have ever created these past 2 years as a graduate Teaching Assistant. I spent about an hour rummaging through dumpsters and alleyways, etc. within a 5 mile radius of McDonald's. I never found it. My professor offered to give me an incomplete. This was my LAST CLASS and then I would have my master's. LAST CLASS! Then yesterday morning, the CSUEB campus police called my brother, who lives all the way in Texas! Corporal Andrew Hardenburgh had taken the time to delve through my bag (it is soooo messy with random papers, etc.) to find any identifying information. I had an old email from my brother in it and he called and emailed him ON A HUNCH. Thank you, thank you, Andrew! Funny thing is, I had been meaning to clean all of my junk out, including that email, but had never gotten around to it. Thank goodness for being lazy! And thank goodness for campus cops and their instincts! -J

What's the point of taking the phone call, what was the whole point of answering get in the description just not to show up. And this what makes me mad the most because it's like okay now what if my life was in danger and I would have had did something to that person's life and now my life is in Jeopardy because I did something to his life but yet the police don't come so you get put in these situations to where you might have to make a life and death situation decision which don't make no f****** sense. I don't know what's going on in America but we need to get back to the f****** fundamentals and we need to get back to real police officers I don't know who y'all hiring because first off most of the people y'all hire don't even know the f****** rules I used to work at the jail in Santa Rita most of them didn't even know the rules so that just lets me know most are here for a paycheck we don't have the love that we have back in the day when I was growing up in 1994 before me it was pure love when it hit the 2000s pure love 2010s straight evil I don't know what the f*** is going on but y'all need to get your s*** together don't answer the f****** phone if you can't come and apply pressure to a situation that's going on this s*** is f****** ridiculous and it's pathetic

I answered and informed the caller I would call him back. That's when a CHP pulled me over. I tried to explain to the officer he didn't want to hear it. He gave me a ticket, didn't give a warning. I have a perfect record. You would have thought he would give me a warning. I see dirt bikes driving down Mission Blvd every day. I see blacked out car windows(tint) But he targets the working men and women. I'm literally in uniform you would think he would take that into consideration. Now as a long time supporter I have changed my view and will no longer make donations to law enforcement or support them in voluntary programs. I am really disappointed and feel the officer was trying to make a name. Pathetic!

The bathrooms are old, and the water pressure is low. They have one small kiosk for coffee and snacks but no cafe. They have security at the front entrance so be ready to pass your belongings through the security scanners. No restaurants or many food options within walking distance, maybe a Taco Bell if that's your thing. Don't get me started with parking because that is the worst! The parking garage across the street has a weird entrance in the back, and they expect you to stand in the long lines with only one pay station, you have to pay for the entire day before you go in. Remember your license plate number to pay. It's $4 a day, super ridiculous you have to pay before going in and not after because how can you predict how long you will be there for? I heard there's some limited street parking that might be free but the clerk told us he got his car stolen and so did others, so unsure if he said that to hog the spots for himself or if that is really true. Just be prepared to pay $4 a day which totally sucks if you have to serve jury duty and your trial you serve could take months. Please don't make juror suffer even more than they have to by making them pay for parking. Many are taking time out of their work schedules and forfeiting pay to be there so this is totally unfair.
