Now comes the bad part - getting the glasses. I was told two weeks. They were not in. I should mention his office now has a phone tree and you cannot always get a person. If you leave a message your calls are not returned. When I did speak with someone I was told they are definitely coming today. It has now been three weeks and no glasses. They refuse to call and find out the problem. In one year their practice has definitely gone downhill.

I was considering not writing this review even after all the…read morewaste of money and time but Vision Source-Eye Center of the Triad had the nerve to send me a bill for $4.13 a couple of days ago. I cannot let this pass! I am so extremely disappointed with this eye care practice. Total incompetence. Let me begin with: I have had myopia since I was 12 years old. With Dr. Martinek, I walked into the office having myopia in both eyes, but walked out with a "perfectly healthy" left eye (20/20 vision). But 5 months after that visit, when I could not see at all, I walked in with her "20/20 vision" in my left eye and left with myopia again. Go figure! Meanwhile, she had me on "dry eye" treatment however charging both my eye and medical insurance for unprofessional and incompetent care. I still had to have a THIRD eye exam this year because I could not see after Dr Martinek's second exam. I know mistakes/typos/calibration errors can happen, and I appreciate honesty. The people in this practice, starting with Dr. Martinek, are unable to take responsibility for mistakes but quickly blame the patient. Josef, the optician/administrator, is condescending and disrespectful. It is truly embarrassing. I prefer driving 90 minutes to see my eye doctor in Wake Forest and have positive, respectful, quality care.

I am only giving this a 2 because the Doctors and a FEW of the staff is good. HOWEVER on the…read moreglasses side of the office, the 2 that work there male and female are BOTH arrogant and do NOT listen to the customer WHO is buying the glasses. The FEMALE when I asked her a few questions threw in my face I have been here 25 years I KNOW. The male when we were having to order the glasses for a SECOND time had made up his mind what I needed when he NEVER meet me before and my daughter was trying to explain what we do for a living. It was like she was NOT there to him. The first time we order the glasses they came within a week but I was NEVER asked by miss 25 years to test them out to see if I could see or not and I had several other appointments to go to, After a couple of days TRYING them that is when I saw that a WALMART $20 pair was 100 times better than these, I called and left a message and after 2 hrs no one called me, So I called back and the lady in the glass section answered that is when she pulled the 25 yrs crap.I was neverl explained to that LINE bifocal lense would not go to the edge, I have had them BEFORE and they DID. But here ARROGANCE was really shining through. I complained and all I got was to reschedule the appointment. I asked to speak to the office manager right after the older eye doctor checked the lens prescription was a little off. When we told the office manager she told us they have had to talk to them before, evidently they have NO FEAR on how they treat the patient. When we talked to the male with the NEW lens order he did NOT really want to listen to us. This was right before Christmas, When we have NOT gotten the blasses well into the NEW YEAR I called and i was told another 7 to 14 days so what took about a week before was now going to take a MONTH. No explanation NO apology. So I had to go another month without seeing!!! I called the office manager again to find out was up and THEN I got the truth, the people that made them SCREWED them up for a second time and had to remake them AGAIN. The folks in the glass side new this and NO CALL NO APOLOGY. When I FINALLY got the glasses today the EYE DOCTOR receptionist waited on me. and the ones in the glass side there was both the male and female with ONLY one customer, I guess I was NOT important enough to bring to me, CHECK the fit, CHECK the lens and MAYBE an apology for it taking so long. If you need a good EYE Doctor they are GOOD, if they order glasses or contacts for YOU, AVOID this side of the office. You will not only be TREATED better but same some money and if they screw up you might get a little something for incovenience . My total cost before issurance for ONE pair of lineless biofocals was $928 and my cost was $502.40. If I had went to Visionworks I could have gotten TWO pairs for a little more AND i would have gottent hem WITHIN a week.

Absolutely terrible experience. Not only was the nurse extremely rude and dry, I waited for over an…read morehour to be with the doctor for 10 minutes. They did not inform me ahead of time what my insurance did and did not cover and ended up charging me $120 for an eye exam even though my copay was $20 and their reasoning is that I have astigmatism which I informed them of ahead of time and they still told me it would be a $20 co pay. This is sneaky and unacceptable. I purchased lenses and not frames and inquired on contacts with them. I swiped my card for the lens purchase that day and was called the next week and was told my insurance benefit was already used. Keep in mind I specifically asked them about this benefit since I was not purchasing frames and they informed me that I would still be able to utilize it for contacts. Now the next week comes and they claim that was miscommunication and they can't use the benefit for both when I specifically inquired on both with them. Keep in mind I already purchased the lenses so now I would have to pay out of pocket. They told me the week prior it would be $83 if I didn't use my insurance and now Anita is claiming for it to be $170. Another miscommunication. So I suggest before you go here, you read on your benefit and you know about it front and back because they will not be helpful at all with what your insurance covers. Now they claim they don't usually do refunds and the only way they can do that is via check So their miscommunication has now cost me hundreds of dollars which is really great. I came in here in a good mood and left extremely frustrated and now the next week even more frustrated nobody here is helpful. Everybody is in a rush and not friendly. Do not go here. I also asked to speak to the supervisor and no one has contacted me since.

The ladies at the front desk had me checked in within record time. Because I had already completed my paperwork, things went smoothly. I was then ushered to a large, lovely seating area, where many other patients were waiting. The office is massive, containing several doctors, as well as a vision center to pick out eyewear and procedure rooms. My technician and doctor were absolutely wonderful. Initially, the tech took a thorough history and did some tests. She was very pleasant, moved with intention, but not rushed. She was communicative, but not chatty (IYKYK), and had me very impressed. I was well-handled and wondered what was left for anyone else to do. Lol When the doctor arrived, he was even more thorough than the technician. He double-checked her work, then began a discussion with me about my eyes and their health. He did some more evaluation and put me at ease. I remember thinking, "This place is amazing!" At the end, he gave me advice and then said, "That's it," with the most amazingly warm smile I had seen in a while. It was genuine and read like he really enjoyed his job. I mean, WOW. So I was going to try them again thinking because of their closure during covid they would afford me with at least one more chance to a different pair of lenses since I paid $185 for a year of service Well to my surprise they are not willing to work with me. They will charge another $185 ( or more) to do contact lenses trial and exam. I was told by another eye care company that I wasn't a fit for contacts, but this doc at Battleground assured me I was. I tried 2 different pairs when I first got started and they didn't work. I kinda gave up but also had other concerns( back surgery) that were more pressing.
