They're also really nice and polite. Over the course of several visits, I tried the sirloin special, the coronation chicken, the chicken escalope, and the chicken/bacon/sweet corn sandwiches. I also tried the scotch eggs. My favorite was the coronation chicken, which I'd never had before (I don't think we have it in the States), but everything I tried was tasty and I'd be happy to have all of them again. The sandwiches are pretty reasonably priced at under £6, which is nice for an area where it's easy to spend the same amount on a cup of coffee and a muffin. I've always been in and out of the shop in just a few minutes, even when it's busy. Their prime lunch traffic seems to come around 12:30 and later; it was pretty empty the 1 time I went at 12. I've always been able to pay with my American bank card without any issues. Definitely recommend this place if you need lunch in the area! They also have breakfast, although I've never tried it.

I had a latte ( needed an extra shot added) and a yummy bread and butter pudding slice. Good atmosphere and an amazing array of counter food that all looked delicious. Ranging from breakfast options to burgers it has everything you could want and more. It took us a good 15 minutes to take it all in but finally I decided on their special - avocado, poached eggs and spinach on sour dough toast WITH extra bacon and halloumi... Well I have to try as much as possible don't I? The food arrived quickly and the portions are LARGE! You could tell the quality of the food is top notch and everything was cooked to perfection. The avocado especially was creamy and delicious. It was a fantastic meal and I couldn't give this place more credit. If you can have a nosey in the kitchen, it's tiny but chefs within are hard at work and creating just wonderful food! I've only docked one star as I had to ask for my water twice which for just water was slightly frustrating but other than that the service was good and prices very reasonable. Great little cafe and I cannot wait to go back and try more of their menu!

To say quality dining options are limited in Canary Wharf would be a gross understatement…read more Thankfully, this delicious carvery stand was not far from my office. Obviously quite popular with the locals, since the lines can be quite long at lunch. Salt Beef Hash: In the States we'd call this corned beef hash on an English muffin. It was a hearty yet-not-too-huge breakfast sandwich option. Like their delicious salt beef for lunch, just chopped up and mixed with potatoes. A great way to use up leftovers. Sausage & Egg: A whole lot of sausage! The tubular kind, cut length wise and topped with a fried egg. Way better than what McDonald's is slinging. Bacon: Lots of it, but not very crispy. From an American perspective, this tasted more like salty smoky ham. Not really my thing. Salt Beef: The crown jewel! I'm pretty sure this is what we call corned beef back home. Generous chunks of this tender and savory meat, with just the right amount of pickles and sauerkraut to contrast the saltiness. Braised Beef: Basically stewed beef sliced up and put on bread. I especially like how they poured extra gravy over it. Probably the heartiest of the sandwiches I tried, which is saying something since none of them were light!

It's a lovely nice little store, and the display fridge is full of super eye appealing sandwiches! Man, that salmon cream cheese bagel man! Looked soo awesome! Coffee was decent but not the best I've had. It was a lot better than those chain competition coffee stores where you just need to push a button and some brown liquid comes out. Birley here they do tamper and do your proper coffee, but my initial experience was just only slightly above average. I was quite bummed they didn't give me a Birley cup today so I only had a plain cup to show.

Pretty nice breakfast/brunch spot offering a wide array of American classics. I ordered The All…read moreAmerican (16.75 GBP), which was a typical combo of pancakes, bacon, homestyle potatoes, a sausage, and two fried eggs. It was rather plain/ordinary but certainly not bad. I have to say, the pancakes were a bit on the dry side though. Also, the eggs were sunny side up but didn't actually seem fried at all, as they were super soft without any crispiness. In addition, they didn't even add the slightest amount of seasoning on there - at least a few pepper flakes would have been nice (although there was pepper on the table, but still). The homestyle fries were well-cooked with a good crispiness though. The restaurant has a lower level with some seating as well as a larger upper level. It has a sort of old-timey kind of vibe, with wood panels along the walls and ceiling and a little performance stage in the back. It is conveniently located right next to the Canary Wharf tube station. My waitress was average friendliness and was only moderately attentive, as she never checked up on me during my meal. She also waited until I actually got my food to bring me my water. Overall, The Breakfast Club is a solid option for breakfast/brunch in Canary Wharf with pretty much any of the classics that you could want.

My quest for breakfast nearly turned into brunch due to my questionable navigation skills and…read more(shocker) rain. In my defense there are several rivers/canals I could be walking toward. I just kept finding the wrong one, but TBC made it worth the wait. For those seeking "a little more conversation", stop at the bar for the friendly experience you'd expect. Today I headed upstairs to the VIP Section. Unlike my wife who never saw a pancake she wanted to go home with, I like a menu with plenty of pancake choices. And bonus points if not too many are "exotic" such as cake disguised as compote-smothered confectioners-sugar-laced trendy-named items. Just get me some sort of flapjack with or without fruit. Bonus points if you have short and tall (long?) stacks. And double-bonus if you print "flapjack" on the menu. Enough about the pancakes (my wife is saying). She doesn't even like breakfast so don't listen to her (she'd skip if I weren't always dragging her out somewhere for it). Her loss. But just one more pancake point: I got the blueberry short stack. It wasn't epic but it was a solid +6-7. That works, given my earlier frou-frou comments. I couldn't tell and maybe the maple syrup was imported from Canada (eh), but we are spoilt with our Vermont supply. So no points gained/lost there. I didn't get any baked beans (yes because this was breakfast), but my bacon was tasty as were my two Americanos (aka coffees). If I had for some reason wanted pre-noon beans...I'm sure they would have been lovely, along with all the other varied menu choices I didn't have room to sample. Service was fast and efficient, and they endured my lingering into late-morning. By the time I left it had stopped raining. Will wonders never cease.
