Charming neighborhood seafood shop and restaurant in Porta Romana. They specialize in raw and…read morecooked seafood. We had the most delicious oysters from the Po river delta, raw and cooked red shrimp from Sicily, swordfish tartare with pistachios, and amberjack tartare with bottarga dishes. Staff was very helpful in telling us about the different seafood, its origins and what is local to Italy. They also offer truffle dishes when in season. A true gem!

I might just be the odd one out... I don't get the hype about this place... it was highly…read morerecommended by a friend, The Fork and even our concierge... so we made a ressie and came for lunch. It was very quiet for lunch... guessing ppl come for dinner. But their AM service for takeaway is very popular. It reminds me of those deli that had pre-made specials. Cozy space, a few tables... surrounded by bottles and bottles of wine. They don't open until 12:30 for lunch... The Fork gave us a 12pm seating... so we just hung out at the Mercado next door and then chilled outside. We ordered the highly recommended "red shrimp", this is nasty... I don't like the consistency at all... it doesn't taste fresh... it's mushy.. and it almost didn't make it into my belly... (gag..); we got the Irish oysters... it says "sweet"... if by sweet means loaded with sea water then ok. Salty AF. I enjoyed the anchovies over butter toasts.. that was delicious. We split a pasta with red shrimp (ordered it bc my friends wanted to try), I wanted the lobster. I didn't enjoy this pasta at all. We split the amberjack... which was oven baked with very heavy wine sauce... and mushy mushrooms and potatoes. I liked the fish... it was nice, flakey and flavorful. So, the only reason why this is not a 2 stars experience is bc of the anchovies toasts and the fish. For a €160... we deserved better food. I wouldn't go out of my way for this spot. Ciao!

I could not have asked for a better meal. I went with the tasting menu...the assorted cold cuts, Rissoto Isola Della Scala (Veal & Pork with cinnamon), the stuffed rabbit, and a fig and chocolate mousse with a 12yr Demerara Rum for desert. Oh My God!! The flavors!! Totally unexpected and nothing short of amazing!! If you've somehow found this review, it means you've gone off the beaten track...Trattoria della Abele is not easy to find. Do yourself the favor and go the rest of way...make the leap of faith...and get in here for one of the best Italian meals you'll get in Milan!!!

I got to Milan starving and I wanted to eat somewhere close and local since I was staying at one of…read morethe neighbourhood slightly outside of city centre and I found this one. The place is small... No frills but just outside the restaurant there were tons of stickers showing their accolades for the food they serve so that was a good sign. Another good sign is the long waiting list of folks trying get a table for dinner after 9.45 pm on a Sunday night. The menu isn't long and they had a tasting menu so I opted for that. You can choose either meat or seafood with the tasting menu and you get three courses plus dessert for just €28! The first course I chose was this hake dish marinated in vinegar with carrots and onions. It was ok not amazing... If you're squirmish and don't want to eat small fish with their head on this is not the dish for you lol. The next dish is a cuttlefish and artichoke risotto. This place is known for its risotto and boy it was amazing. Never knew risotto was suppose to be cooked where each grain has a bite and not mushy.the delicate flavour of the cuttlefish and artichoke worked so well and the dish was perfectly seasoned. The dish was creamy and I found myself scraping for the last pieces of risotto on the dish! I want more! Lol. The third dish I got was grilled octopus. The dish seemed like it straight up came from the sea with the long tentacle of the octopus. The octopus was tender and have the taste of the sea... Went really well with the sun dried tomatoes. I was amazed of the beautiful colour and the texture... So tender. If you like seafood this will quench your thirst for it. It also went well with the prosecco I ordered. If you're not into seafood, stir clear from this because it is straight up a seafood type of dish... and it'll taste like meat marinated in sea water. For dessert since it was my first night back in Italy I hard to give homage to the tiramisu. The tiramisu was light and fluffy... Not too sweet... Not too much coffee flavour, perfectly balanced. As much as I enjoyed it, being the fourth dish ... I was stuffed! It's a good reminder for me when I make tiramisu that it shouldn't be too sweet and delicate and flavoured lightly by coffee. The staff were really nice and attended me well, they are pretty on point and have a great system working. I'd recommend making reservations if you can cause this place get busy! Overall the experience was good and the wait was worth it for this restaurant. Good value for the money and gave me a good experience on how it is like eating like a local in Milan.
