This location is the Langosteria Cafe! The food was great and there are several fun drink and wine selections. The spicy margaritas was indeed spicy haha. We ordered the grilled scallops and octopus under entrees and the clam pasta under main courses. The food was fantastic! They gave us two chocolates for dessert - there is a separate dessert menu but we were quite full and didn't opt to get one. Attentive service despite how busy it was. Langosteria is the place to be if you are a seafood lover! With raw fish platters (make sure you choose the one with shrimp from Mazara del Vallo), seafood-topped pastas, and Catalan-style main courses, Langosteria delivers an upscale contemporary experience without the stuffiness. We ordered the seafood platter for 1 person to share between the 2 of us: there was no eye roll from our server, and they simply offered if we want add an extra red prawns and a langoustine. For 60 EUR, the platter is very generously portioned and is shareable especially if you want to try other signature dishes. For the wine list, yes it is extensive!! My way to navigate through is to ficus on white Italian varietals and look for an older vintage: ended up with a 2012 vintage, only 80EUR, and is excellent! Loved the signature dish tuna carpaccio, the mixed fried seafood with prawns and squid is also well executed. Highlights: * The Finest Seafood in Milan - if you don't love seafood this is NOT for you, you will not find anything else to eat here * High quality, fresh seafood served simply but stylishly * Very popular, hard to get a reservation, reserve in advance or try to get a counter seat which you may be able to reserve as well * Close to Duomo and Galleria on a hidden side street with obscured signage * Yelp lists this incorrectly as Langosteria, this location is called Langosteria Cafe, not to be confused with the other Langosteria locations you will find on your smart phone search, but I' sure they are all good. There are four versions of the successful Langosteria in Milan, not to mention one in Paraggi and one in Paris. This review is for Langosteria Cafe near the Duomo and Galleria. Although it is right in the heart of everything it is a little hidden and hard to find. That doesn't stop scores of diners from packing every table and counter seven days a week. Midweek we were only able to get a seat at the counter, but we love that to watch the action of the kitchen, oyster shucker, chefs, and the expediter who overseas, finishes and swipes each dish before they are handed off for delivery. Langosteria is a fine tuned machine, but it can be swamped at times trying to turn out dozens of dishes at the same time. Prices are not cheap, you can pay 220 Euros per kilogram for giant carabinieri prawns or 100 something per kilo for Scorpion fish, but you will find the finest and freshest fish in the world here. We enjoyed our meal so much we had to return for a second dinner on our only 3 night stay in Milan. NB: Important! If you are not a LOVER of seafood and fish, cross this off your list. There are NO non seafood items on the menu or specials to my recollection. Langosteria is for the lover of fresh seafood, oysters, clams, sea truffles, prawns, fish of every kind, crudos, sea urchin, bulots, lobster, anchovies, octopus, scallops, langoustines, king crab, turbot, baccala, sea bream, snapper, etc. We were introduced to "sea truffles" which to me were identical to baby littleneck clams. There is a 30 page wine list with many pages of Champagne and bubbles, the rest is very focused in Italy and France, especially Burgundy. Italians are not aware of the incredible quality and diversity of American wines, nor are the French, even though Napa wines beat French First Growths going back to the blind competition in Paris in 1976 with all French judges! And American wines have gotten far better since. You can find decent Champagne starting at 90 Euros that complement the seafood well, as well as some Italian white wines starting at only about 50 Euros. read more

My wife and I eat there 3 times in 10 days a year or so ago and it was the most pleasant food experience we both had ever had. The service was beyond excellent. Our every wish was anticipated and catered too all evening long during all 3 nights we went to this great place. In Paris we went to their sister restaurant and was disappointed. We came to appreciate this restaurant more and more over the last year because of the great service and the wonderful fish lobster 3 different ways and always someone close by to help us when we needed more wine or.. it was such a great experience the first night we came back 2 more times. I have to thank Federico the Concierge at the Palazzo Parigi 5 star hotel in Milano for the suggestion. If u stay in Milano stay at the Palazzo Parigi eat dinner at Langosteria and u will not forget either experience! In Nov we will be going back to Milano and we will go back to both places! You had me at Langosteria! I have had absolutely bomb experiences at other Langosteria locations both in Milan and outside Italy (St Moritz!!) and Langosteria Cafe is no different. Located in a hidden corner of the Galleria Del Corso the atmosphere is fantastic, you don't realize that the place is actually decently sized because it is split up into different rooms. All the food is of the highest quality, from the amuse bouche, over the starters and the fantastic mains to even the desserts. As with the other restaurants in the group, they serve seafood in the most tasty way and possible! I took my friends who did a two week trip in Europe and they said it was the best meal they had on their vacation. I love it and I am sure everyone else will too! Highly recommended! read more

Most expensive, and yet most disappointing restaurant experience in Milan. We were served an amuse-bouche of gazpacho with lobster that was excellent. Next, the langoustine came with a very tasty sauce. The lobster with pasta for the main was drenched in a heavy sauce that completely overpowered the delicate taste of the lobster. Of additional concern was that the main dish was served before the appetizer was finished. When we commented, the server said "that's how we do it here." Our initial experience was distasteful as we had to remind Andre (our waiter) for about everything from water, to our order, to drinks. We waited to order for too long and even longer to get our food, and folks that came after us even ate before us. However, the restaurant manager(s) immediately realized we were having a bad time and came to the rescue. They tried all their possible best to remedy the situation and boy, they were successful. Summary: Delicious new spot near the Galleria/Duomo area. Extremely fresh and authentic Italian seafood. A must try. Atmosphere: While this place is mostly for locals and business folk, it is definitely something for which I would dress up a bit or at least look smart urban. The place is elegant modern without being stuffy. Service: These folks were extremely nice. I was with an Italian speaker, but all would were extremely kind in trying to communicate anything they thought I might enjoy. The Food: All of the food was completely lovely. We were a bit jet lagged, but happily nearly licked our bowls clean. Lobster TarTar over Fois Gras. Appetizer was astounding 5 stars. What a unique and delightful combination Seafood shrimp linguini - Phenomenally prepared, they can split this course to be shared and will do so in advance. King Crab Catalonia - Delicious must try and prime on the menu. The waiter wasn't kidding, this is something that is their house specialty. 5 stars Dinner also came with these lovely butter cookies as a post service delight. This place was a great find. My husband and I were heading towards another restaurant for a late night dinner close to 11 but by chance we noticed that Langosteria was still open. (A lot of the restaurants in the Duomo area are closed by 11PM). As we stepped in, I was expecting the place to be packed because the greeter had to check to see if we could be seated but it was only 1/3 full. Stranger still because the restaurant closed at midnight. The menu was very heavy on seafood, which was a plus for me. For appetizer, I ordered salmon tartar with mango and wasabi sauce - soo good. The contrast between the sweetness of the mango and the slight spiciness of the wasabi was delicious. We both ordered lobster with pasta (with different sauce and pasta types, of course!). The lobster was very fresh and had a nice sweet flavor. The prices were a bit higher than I would like but it was my favorite meal in Milan. My husband accidentally left his hat at the restaurant and we mad dashed there to see if they were open at 9:30AM. We saw that the restaurant was closed but that there was someone in there going over the day's menu. We played charades with the man, gesturing that we had a hat in the restaurant, as he stared in confusion from the inside. He made a motion for us to open the door.. DOH.... We left feeling a bit embarrassed but happy, we were able to retrieve the hat. read more
