After days of pasta and just before leaving Italy it was time to have a Pizza. Unfortunately, the pizzaria we had in mind was closed for the season already but next door an establishment appraised them self as a pizzaria too and, it looked like locals go there, so why not. The "maître-d" was nice and welcoming, the assigned waiter not that much. We ordered salad, some pasta and yes, pizza. The mentioned waiter prepared the salad sauce at the table with balsamico and olive oil, but it somehow disappeared in the giant bowl. The pasta was meh, compared to what we enjoyed of the last few days and the pizza ... Well, first it took forever (probably I'm the idiot ordering one during dinner service?) and it was just too think and not that good after all. The sad ambience didn't help to make this a good experience unfortunately. But! It was reasonably priced, almost cheap and ok to eat after all. read more

This is a great place for dinner. It's along a relatively more quiet street. It is seafood-focused with authentic Italian hospitality and service! I ordered a grilled sea bream -- whole fish, deboned at table side. read more

We had a delicious lunch at Al Pescatorea. There were so many fresh fish and pasta dishes to choose from. The monk fish was prepared perfectly. We appreciated the quieter restaurant atmosphere - even though there were several customers. read more

Aside from the amazing food the main highlight of this dinner was Valentina and the other staff. Very few times do you encounter dinners where the delicate preparation and taste is paired with passion from those who deliver. Valentina was thoughtful, attentive, and truly passionate about food and more importantly about treating people. We couldn't get enough of her and had a lovely conversation to end the dinner which really was something special. The calm atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of the castle makes this spot perfect to take a deep breathe and enjoy your immediate company. With live lobsters in a tank and not that many tables it's perfect for a small town feel. Now.... The food.... unbelievable. We had just completed a yacht trip around Sicilia and we also used to live in Italy so this place is the real deal. Do yourself the favor and order the mussels to start and then get the gran grigliata as a main. The tomato based sauce for the mussels was so good that we requested that they make a small bowl of it so we could pair it with the fish. It was fantastic. The gran grigliata was just wonderful and the presentation was beautiful. Getting hungry as I write this so I'll leave all with that. Al Pascatore is slightly off the main drag and is not nearly as crowded. We had the Seafood Pasta and Al Pascatore nailed it. I did not have another nearly as good in two weeks in Italy. The service was friendly and prompt. Loved it! I would highly recommend. read more
