When we ordered the bus tickets, he didn't even ask for our money upfront and instead insisted that we give it to him later. I have never met an owner who placed so much faith in the honor system before. He was also kind enough to let our friend stay for three nights despite the fact we booked the hotel for 3 at first. In terms of the food, breakfast is very standard with croissant, different coffee that the staff can make, and a variety of pastries. They do need more fruits. However they make it up with their omelettes, so take advantage of the proteins if you are busy hikers like us. For dinner, they have a variety of seafood. I ordered the grilled squid. It was delicious but I wished the portion size could be a bit larger. But that's Europe for you! The only complaint I have is the shower. Our shower was broken for the most of our stay. The water would turn either burning hot or freezing cold. Maybe it was just our room, but the shower was personally a little frustrating. However for the most part, I loved La Locanda.
