Practical and fun shop to visit in the highest incorporated town in the U.S., Alma. Almart is part convenience, grocer, outdoors, and clothing store. Located in a cool, historic building along Highway 9. They have everything from fishing hooks and winter boots to local meats and beverages. Staff is always really chill and interesting to talk to.

For a teeny town like Alma, this place has got it goin' on! It really is a general store but for me the highlights were fancy dark chocolate and gourmet type snacks (not just Nabisco, Kraft, crap). The married couple that own this place are friendly and helpful. Alma seems an interesting place and Al-Mart adds to its charm.

This is a great asset to our community. Family owned and operated. Like they say, if they don't have it, you don't need it.

Target - Like a Monet; it looks nice from far away but up close it's a damn mess!

Date of visit: February 12, 2025…read more I was admittedly impressed upon driving up to the store given that it looks like no other Target I've ever seen on the outside, the cabinesque look of the entrance lending itself well to it surroundings. But all of that initial feeling faded away quickly when I saw that both trash cans outside the store were absolutely overflowing, reminiscent of the aftermath of a music festival, the garbage piled high and also surrounding the cans as though they had not been emptied in days. This sadly is the new normal for Target, the high standards from when I worked there long abandoned as they continue to try to chase Walmart instead of doubling down on the service that set them apart and made them the superior choice. While the inside of the store was definitely cleaner than the exterior, service was MIA (also their new normal) as not a single employee interacted or even looked at me while we browsed the mens, electronics, and grocery departments. The cashier was definitely not friendly, either; exactly why I lean towards self-checkout these days, it's harder for a computer to be rude to you!

For the second year in a row, trying to sign up for Target's so-called "college student discount"…read morehas been nothing but a nightmare. The registration system simply doesn't work, no matter what I try -- and once again, I was left stranded with no support. To make things worse, the in-store manager was not only unhelpful, but also rude and sassy, as if my inconvenience was an annoyance to them. I asked for assistance and was brushed off with attitude and zero effort to actually solve the issue. This I called customer service and stayed on the line for over an hour while still waiting in store. The result? Absolutely nothing. No resolution, no help, just more wasted time and frustration. For a company this size, this "discount" is nothing but a sham -- a marketing ploy that fails to deliver and leaves students hanging. After two years of this mess, I can confidently say: Target, do better. Or just stop pretending this discount exists.

Ok..ok..ski town getting ready for winter, you have visited multiple shops up and down Main Street…read moreand were in sticker shock then you come across a viable option. (Thanks to the locals who told me about this place). The first thing that grabs your attention as you enter is the SALE items up front then as your eyes scan the store you see SALE items in the rear and good options in between. From perusing different stores along Main St, with this beacon of hope at the front door I was already winning!!! They have a great selection of helmets, gift items, boots, jackets, pants, gear and more. I cannot remember all of the brands, but the ones that stuck out were Kodiak, Swix and Rossignol. It was funny because the store manager was not available and had the password to the register so the employee and us patrons started conversing between each other with not a care in the world even though a line started forming. No attitudes just positive vibes and sunshine. Once the manager (Shannon) returned, she had a couple of coffees for her and the employee jokingly informing us if we wanted coffee for the wait, it would be her treat. That was cool! Sooo... let me temper your expectations Main Street Outlet is an outlet and has good prices for the quality of their items, but I would say it is more of a Premium Outlet which the prices are way better and they have a better selection than most of the stores seen on this visit.

This store is great! Shannon the manager is so friendly and helpful. She goes above and beyond…read morewith her customer service:)
