Al Lang Stadium was a nice spot to come and watch a Rowdies game! Parking was easy to find nearby and walkable. My kids loved meeting their mascot and getting a picture. The restrooms weren't in the best condition. The food and drink options are just ok here. Near the end we left a bit early and all the concession stands were giving out the leftover food for free. We got a free box of pizza on the way out which was a fun surprise! I definitely recommend, but I'd definitely avoid in the thick of summer.. not much shade unless you get a seat in the small covered area. read more

My first Rowdies game! Purchased tickets as part of a St. Pete Chamber networking event. There was a 2 hour lightning delay, which would have SUCKED but the stadium did a great job of compensating us; we were allowed to leave and come back when gates reopened, or wait inside while enjoying free food and drinks from stadium concessions including alcoholic beverages. Plus the organizer emailed (pretty early) during the delay that the networking event would be rescheduled and we would be provided make-up tickets. All the staff I interacted with was pleasant and helpful. My friend and I spent a solid six hours here altogether and don't have any complaints, except that $95 for jerseys seems exorbitant for a USL team. Can't speak on the parking cost as my friend has free employee parking downtown. read more

Another great event put on my yelp. This was another event that allowed us to try something that we wouldn't necessarily have done, so kudos! Picking up tickets and getting into the stadium was a breeze. Lots of gates and plenty of security and ticket checkers that the process was smooth. The game itself was a blast. I loved the drum beating and dude who hyped the crowd. I wish they would have a screen that displays the different chants because I didn't know them and couldn't really hear them well enough to participate. In fact, I would imagine that the only people who could hear are the ones in the lowest seating behind the goal which only allows fan engagement to go so far. The concession stands were plentiful, the options limited, but with all the usuals (pretzels, hot dogs, popcorn, and lots of beer!). Service was quick and pleasant. The seats were good, I thought because we were behind the goal I thought we wouldn't be able to see the length of the field well, but to my surprise the view was great. Overall, we had a good time but in all honesty, the hype and energy was a lot less than any other sporting event I've been to in the Tampa Bay region. Granted I've never been to a soccer match so maybe that's why but just my two cents. read more

What a great venue! The view of the water is beautiful. The Rowdies were easy to see especially with the jumbo tron. The staff kept everything working smoothly from concessions to the bathrooms to picking trash up during and after the game. Parking garage was close by and the stadium was in walking distance. If you're sitting in a bleacher, bring one of those bleacher seats for comfort. Also grab some napkins in case of any spills or to wipe away bird droppings. Efficient process going thru the gates. Lots of gates opened with multiple staff. The bathroom line was long but expected. Would have appreciated a fan inside the bathroom while waiting in line. I attended my first Rowdies game and it was a blast. Built in 1947 (and used primarily over the years for baseball) the stadium has been renovated several times, including in 2015 when it was converted to accommodate a soccer stadium. Although Al Lang is nearly 75 years old, the stadium is in great condition. It seats approximately 7,500 spectators via aluminum bleachers with short backs in the upper levers and regular full back stadium seats nearer to the field. The are also a number of "luxury suites" on one side of the stadium. The field is in beautiful condition and the stadium is conducive to a festive atmosphere. There is a "rowdies" section near the field at one end, where fans stand the entire game doing chants and singing, bringing an authentic "futebol" feel to the experience. I was surprised that the stadium was well less than half full in attendance as this really is a very fun time and the team is very talented. read more

Nice little soccer stadium for the Rowdies in downtown St. Pete. I attended a Rowdies game. It was at 7:30pm in early August. It was a pretty muggy, buggy experience, and pretty much everyone around me was sticky with sweat. The actual stadium is pretty basic. I don't think there are enough ladies' rooms. There are built-in concession areas as well as roaming vendors selling the usual, overpriced drinks. There's a large screen showing the game on one end, but several panes of it are broken. Seats are pretty basic and open to the elements. I'm not sure how I feel about the place being cash-free. I mean, yes, I have a credit card, but when you want to buy a beer from the roaming vendor person, having to pass your cell phone or credit card down the row to pay him is a pain and requires a level of trust that I don't have. Much better to pass down cash including tip. I went with a group for my nephew's birthday. The group ticket rates are significantly discounted, which is great. Also, someone from the stadium showed up part way through the first half and brought my nephew a Rowdie's jersey and also a Ray's bobblehead. It was a nice touch for my nephew, and a sweet little local team kind of thing to do. It's fun having a local soccer team that plays well in DTSP, but I have to say that the actual experience of watching a game in person isn't particularly comfortable. Parking in the area is a bit of a pain, but if you can score a spot down by the docks, there are some 2 hour spots. Otherwise, you're paying standard DTSP hourly rates and still walking quite a bit. read more

Rowdies games are the best sporting experience in the Bay area, hands down! A lot of it has to do with the team on the fields obviously, but Al Lang stadium is definitely a major factor. It's so rich with history! They have done a great job of maintaining it from a fan standpoint it's such a fun environment and if you happen to get lucky enough to sit in the midfield seats you can catch the game while boats sail by and planes are landing along the water. This is the stadium which has the famous hanging "Al Lang Sign", which inspired the old song "Al Lang Syne." Which is an old Medieval spelling of course. This is a cool stadium for soccer in Tampa, and Tampa is definitely a soccer City, with a long tradition from the Rowdies and way before, and has great weather for it. But it does have a few issues, nevertheless it's still a cool place to come and watch a game. I'm hoping that at some point the Rowdies can get into the MLS, but it would probably need a new stadium because there are issues with this one. read more

You could also walk down to the ground to go to the store/bars which made for some cool views! I did have a hard time with the security getting in, I brought in an empty water bottle and was told I wasn't allowed to bring it in which was a bummer since it was Florida in June. Last weekend, thanks to Yelp Elite I attended my first ever soccer game! I'm really not sure why I've never gone before, but I'd def go again! No seat is a bad seat and the view of the water is beautiful. Rowdies fans are unlike any other. They love their team! The vibe in the crowd is a lot of fun. I only got a beer while I was there, but the drinks are foods are definitely cheaper than other sports games so I liked that. The Rowdies stadium is dtsp so there is plenty of (paid) parking options, including close parking garages. We took a Lyft there and back so of course that's an option too! Nice place! We went to see the Bundesliga matchup of Frankfurt v. Berlin on a Wednesday night game. The field was well lit and the seating comfortable. There is plenty of parking in the area although all of it paid. But I simply don't understand why they don't run the Grand Stand seating down the length of the field?!? I know it was a former baseball field but if you're going to host the Rowdies, let's get the stadium corrected! Staff was courteous and attentive. read more

This stadium is small enough to see the field for soccer games and if you have VIP seats for the stage, a good outdoor concert venue! Saw Bryan Adams here this summer and was far enough back but could still see well and the sound was great! Even on the way out, the people who were guarding the bathrooms were very nice to let you use the AC trailer bathrooms...(there were no lines to use them), not like other venues who keep you from enjoying your experience for some rule they invented themselves or enforcing a rule that impacts no one. I would totally buy tix to another show. I hope they do more. In fact, the weather was awesome, the view toward the water near the boats and all the things the venue can't plan for were perfect as well (but isn't why this place gets 5 stars, those are just bonuses!) read more

The permanent home of the Rowdies soccer team, it's a fun place to see a concert. They just recently started holding concerts here and I was honestly impressed. This review is specific to the Soul Asylum, Collective Soul and Three Doors Down concert because it's the only time I've actually been to Al Lang Stadium. So I had general admission tickets and they had plenty of space on the field to fill in to the sides of the actual seating. You can bring blankets and sit on the ground if you wanted to but in general admission would be difficult to see the bands. Definitely a great deal for the price. The sound was very good for a stage set up that's not usually there. The weather was absolutely beautiful, it had rained earlier in the evening and made the concert weather very pleasant in the middle of summer! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Plenty of security available. They had mostly just concessions, beer wine and alcoholic drinks, no significant food items but that was all right. Parking is plentiful and reasonable. It's within walking distance to downtown st Pete so if you want to park there, walk then go up a bar or restaurant after, it's completely doable as downtown St Pete is very walkable. Will definitely go to another concert at this venue. Impressed with the stage set up and the sound. Only negative I would say is any the restrooms. They had port o potties and one of those 6 stall mobile bathrooms but that "filled up" quickly and was not available by the time the main act went on. There are bathrooms inside the stadium but those were not available during the concert. read more

If I could give lower than 1 I would. EXPENSIVE tickets ($350+) to Santana, great aisle seats in section 22. Or would be great if the stadium would actually enforce its seating areas. Below is our view much of the night. This shouldn't be allowed. Really bad management. I and the woman in front of me had to personally ask people to move so many times I lost track and really affected my enjoyment of the concert. My first ever Soccer game! Ok i guess i probably went to one in college and some kids games... But this was the real deal. The Rowdies fans are very serious about their team and have a parade of sorts into the stadium complete with flags and drums. We sat right in front of them ans they set of streamers and smoke at the game start to really get the energy going. The stadiums location is great... Right on the water and walkijg distance to the bars and restraunts in St. Pete. The future plans to hopefully make it a professional stadium are amazing! The game was fun... The drinj lines were a littlw lomg as expected but thw overall experience was a lot of fun. I would absolutely attend another game in the future! Hopefully a MLS game! read more

Wow the new stadium is beautiful; very nice upgrades with the seating and concessions and a gorgeous view of the water and a larger score board. My only complaint is the change of my favorite general admission section being prime seating; never understood why it wasn't before! But now the kids can't sit behind the goal area and interact with the players as they had previously. Go Rowdies! As long as we have "Ralph's mob" chanting and drumming, all is good! I went to Al Lang for the first time a few weeks back for a Rowdies game. I thought I would enjoy the game, but I didn't realize how much I would love the experience! First of all, I think there's something kind of cool (in a slightly weird way) about a baseball field that primarily hosts soccer. To my knowledge, baseball hasn't been played there in awhile. The stadium has an intimate feel, and a cool location right near the water in downtown St. Pete. I know a lot of people go to MacDinton's or another bar downtown and then walk to the Rowdies game from there, which is another perk of the stadium's location. Perhaps the most fun aspect of the experience was the diehard Rowdies fanbase filling a section of the stands. They added a very fun energy to the game experience. I realize that has nothing to with the stadium, but it was very cool nonetheless. i can't wait to go back to another game in the future! read more

I am a Tampa Bay Rowdies season ticket holder, and I love coming to matches at Al Lang. The atmosphere is always a lot of fun, and the club's management has taken into account feedback from the fans and supporters as to what they'd like to see more of in the stadium, like better beer selections. The TBR organization does a lot to engage with and involve the fans, such as providing many opportunities after matches to interact with the players and get autographs. In my opinion, going to a Rowdies match is one of the best per-dollar entertainment opportunities in the Tampa Bay area. You get exciting football in a neat stadium (yes, it is a little aged, but they're making the most of it), with a great environment. I have to give a big shout-out to the Rowdies supporter group Ralph's Mob. They really add a lot to the matchday environment, with their clever signs (called tifo), chants, drumming, and even green & gold smoke bombs. Go catch a match with our Rowdies, it is a lot of fun--they're a kick in the grass! read more

Situated right on the water in downtown St Pete, this is a great old stadium. The Rays used to hold spring training here, but they got a new complex built for them in Punta Gorda. Al Lang is now home to Tampa Bay FC and they set it up nicely for soccer. read more
