I try to contact them to solve the mistake, but either they did not respond my several emails and calls or once I got in contact via phone the lady hang up inmediately after I asked for the manager AND BLOCKED MY NUMBER! So I placed a corresponding review at tripadviser which was commented by them within hours doubting that I really had lunch at their restaurant despite I wrote them date, time and what we had for lunch including the sum of the bill, more than enough to proof my claim by checking their accounts, and asking for calling or writing to another email address than the one mentioned at their website. I did even this but still no response! So in the meantime I believe no longer in a sad mistake but intentional behaviour, therefore TAKE CARE OF YOUR CREDIT CARD WHEN VISTING AL FARID IN EXETER!!! read more

Place was a wow!! Food was reasonably priced for large groups, and we were in the roof which made for an interesting climb up almost what was like a ladder!! Highly recommended. It's the perfect place for a special occasion be it with friends, as a couple or like I did, a large group. You would not be left wanting anymore. Xx read more

I had never tried Moroccan food before, but I'm an adventurous eater and had heard great things about this place from friends who had gone for dinner the night before, so a couple of friends and I decided to try it out, especially since it was very close to our hotel (The Crowne). It's easy to find -- right by the cathedral. We walk in and it looks like someone's well-decorated house. We sit at a low table on a couch and the waitress comes to take our orders. After much deliberation, I decide to split a meat platter (lamb kebab, chicken kebab, sausage, 3 dips, 2 lavash, root vegetable couscous) with 2 friends, along with hummus + pita mezze and the duck with pomegranate appetizer. Our other two friends split chicken kebabs and hummus + lavash since they weren't as hungry as us. Our meat platter was everything I'd ever dreamed and hoped for. The lamb sausage and kebab were my favorites, but the combination of everything was delicious. The couscous was surprisingly good; the dips went will with everything. The hummus and pita was amazing as well. The only downside was that the chicken was kind of dry and the duck and pomegranate appetizer was mostly salad and not enough duck, and the flavor was underwhelming. My friends also split a baklava platter for dessert; I tried a bite and it was good as well. Overall, good experience in Exeter. They also have a "feast" option where you can pick anything from the mezze section for a set price. This is a great restaurant. We thought we would try it out as we had not heard anything about it and we were so pleased we did. The setting is great and the food is even better. Friendly, warm atmosphere. Very nice and polite staff. If you like Moroccan food and want to take a break from your more traditional restaurant then give this a go! You can either go upstairs and sit at a table or stay downstairs and sit on big cushions and take in the atmosphere. Great place! read more

I can understand why many people love this place. The food is very nice, but our particular experience was not a happy one. It was a friend's birthday and a booking had been made in advance for our group. We arrived on time for the booking but were made to wait 2 AND A HALF HOURS for our food. I had nearly died of starvation by that point and was grumpy as hell, and if it hadn't been for not wanting to upset our friend's party, we would have walked right out and gone somewhere else. During this wait, we also asked to order a drink but were told that they were too busy right now to serve us! When the food finally arrived, there was no apology, and I couldn't have cared whether it was Morrocan or not a McDonalds would have been just as welcome. And just to make us even more angry they had the cheek to automatically charge us for service! Never again. read more

This restaurant is one of the best Exeter has to offer. The atmosphere is amazing, the wait staff are quiet but friendly and the food is amazing. The downstairs rooms are perfect for a large party, especially with their sharing dishes available. Upstairs is more suited to quiet dining situation, although they provide tables with lots of seating too. For those interested in a traditional way to finish a night out, the balcony offers two shisha pipes with a variety of flavoured tobacco. I've tried the strawberry and the apple and can say its a worthwhile experience, especially if you have a group of 3+ The food is absolutely lovely, I've never had anything here I haven't liked, and the staff will answer any questions about it. My personal recommendation is the steak topped with spiced lamb mince and for dessert the orange cake. For those concerned, the restaurant is trans-friendly and very accommodating, although wheelchair uses may be restricted to the downstairs as the stairs are very narrow. read more

This place I admit is not the usual type of place I would go to. I felt that I was eating in someone's front room and the seats we had they was no room for our legs so we were crushed up and then had a tiny coffee table for the 4 of us to eat our foos. Some people may love this place but it is not the type of place that I enjoy. Food was ok felt that some of it was overcooked and chewy. read more
