EXCELLENT spot and so worth going to for a meal. If you are looking for a tourist trap every-table-filled spot don't come here, but if you are looking for a genuine Italian gem, where you can grab a bite to eat or a full coursed meal feeling like you hit the Italian jackpot this is your new home. They seem to change their meals regularly, so not sure if they will have this always, but the spaghetti carbonara with seafood was absolutely out of this world good. Not too heavy and the seafood was a surprisingly great addition. The extra touch like the starter Prosecco and the bread were so welcomed and unlike most other restaurants. The bread...seriously it deserves its own review. The buttery focaccia and the curry bread was mouthwatering.
Our waiter, Juan, was incredibly attentive and accommodating, even switching to Spanish when he realized my Italian was abhorrent (he also spoke English very well). He made great suggestions and if we didn't finish every drop on our plate he only gave us a mild look of sadness and disappointment, as opposed to the Italian scolding you normally receive.
The only real negative is that if you go here on the first night you probably are going to spend the rest of your trip reminiscing about how great it was, searching the other towns for something like it, and good luck with that! That combo of delicious, authentic, passionate, and quiet is more elusive than a picture at the tower of Pisa without someone else taking a photo pretending to hold it up.
I hope you enjoy as much as we did! read more
