Absolutely horrendous. Didn't follow the authorization and did the CT without contrast when it had to be with contrast and no one would listen. STAT order and it's been 3 days waiting for results. Thank God it wasn't appendicitis or I would be dead by now... These STAT imaging is what determined my care plan and I still do NOT have them. I normally only go to Rayus Radiology but since this was STAT I had to go to the closest imaging center which unfortunately happened to be Akumin Wellington. The staff and front desk is all super rude with the exception of ONE CT and MRI tech. Save yourself the hassle and go to Rayus instead. Akumin Wellington is pending a lawsuit. read more

Akumin is a medical imaging facility located in Wellington FL. It is one of many locations that this company has. This location has ok parking, and isn't hard to get to. They are incredibly disorganized with their staff not talking to each other. The employee that scheduled me looked up my insurance told me that I would have a $0 copay as my insurance was covered. So I made the appointment. Got there and they gave me my paperwork quickly and took my insurance card and license and tells me to sit down. Calls my name again and proceeds to tell me that my copay is $325. I've never had that copay in my life at a place like this, not even one out of network. I told her that there's no way and said the scheduler told me it would be $0. She said that they've been getting a lot of complaints about that from patients....yet they haven't fixed the issue? I told her that I don't even have to pay a copay of $250 a day when I'm Admitted to the hospital so that must be wrong. She said it's part of your deductible which I don't have unless it's an ambulance ride or I have to buy medical equipment. Finally I told them just to bill my insurance or I was walking out. They agreed after speaking with their manager. The scan I had was ok, but the nurse that I originally had stepped out for a lunch break and I got a new one. When I got the new one she didn't know I was there and I had to walk into the room where another person was on a conference call. The nurse then proceeded to do the scan while having a personal phone call with another employee on the phone. As a result I'm a bit worried that her split attention messed up the results/scan somehow. Usually with this scan you lay down for 4+ hours and get a scan every hour, but this facility does it differently. As a result I had to sit in an uncomfortable chair every hour I had to wait instead of lying down relaxing. Their AC was also out in the room I was in which is a health hazard as places like these (hospitals, doctors offices etc.) have to stay very cold to kill bacteria and viruses. TLDR: All in all the experience was terrible. The staff doesn't communicate with each other causing insurance info discrepancies and causing possible unwanted bills all while blaming the patient (I did look up my insurance online before and they did take it). Their medical staff rushes you and doesn't pay attention, all the while making you wait in uncomfortable places. I'm worried about the competency of their staff both medical and front desk. I would stay away from Akumin, but especially this location. read more

Unfortunately my experience has been very poor with this facility. My surgeon requested a breast Ultrasound for an upcoming surgery that was placed as stat. It has been almost a week and after countless calls to a call center who states I will hear back from the site I still do not have my results and have not heard from anyone. This now may result in canceling a medically necessary urgent surgery. read more

The Wellington location is very clean and well equipped,that's the plus. But My "Lovely" Brazillian Therapist is everything but friendly with me. She's bordering rude,very condescending, dismissive and makes me feel like less than human. On the flip side she treatrs her Caucasian patients 100X better than she does me. This business does medical scans, X-rays, MRIs and mammography. The employees are nice. However, there's usually too many patients coming in for the front desk to handle in a timely manner. I've seen this problem at multiple locations. It would have been convenient to know at the time of scheduling that I would need to drink something there then wait 2 hours, after waiting almost an hour to get checked in then another hour to be seen. The technicians are gentle with patients. I'm not so sure about the radiologists though. They don't ever see you, just your scan images. It was my experience to not find information for the reason I went but lots of questions about something completely different. read more

On time , polite efficient knew exactly what I was there for and saved me the trouble of all that paperwork which they had on file. Much quicker then any mri I've ever had And I've had a lot of them. My son was scheduled for an MRI at Akumen. There was an issue with the insurance getting approved and we really needed to have the test done. When we had arrived at Akumen the front desk staff was extremely helpful & had Chastity (one of the supervisors) call the insurance and rectify the problem. Chastity not only was able to approve the insurance but she offers to sit with him during his test. The staff at Akumen is exceptional..I can't say enough good things read more

The customer service at this facility is dang near non-existent. I had an appointment for 6:30pm on a Tuesday evening. When I arrived I was greeted by a young man working the front desk. He took my name, located my orders and pointed me in the direction of the door I needed to enter to wait to be seen regarding my ultrasound. Once I headed through the doors I noticed the area was empty except one closed door I could hear a bit of noise behind (the door labeled ultrasound) so I just waited. And waited. And waited. For an ultrasound it's requested you attend the appointment with a full bladder. So at this point I was just pacing in this empty area. Randomly a woman walks out of another door and enters the ultrasound room where I originally heard noise. I said "good evening" she ignored me. A few minutes later she comes out the ultrasound door, still not greeting me but having a loud conversation with the ultrasound attendant about a patient they are waiting on (ME!) still without acknowledging me. The ultrasound tech finally looks at me and says "are you our 6:30" (well after 6:30 at this point & I came 30 minutes early!) I nodded yes and that I had been waiting for someone to acknowledge me. The other employee then says I need to go back to the waiting room because I wasn't checked in. Now utterly confused I head back out the door. She follows me so she can "check" the front desk attendant who tells her I was checked in over 30 minutes ago and she starts arguing with him about me not being in queue on their screen. She is literally going back and forth with him instead of helping me! Finally he apologizes and she takes me back to start my ultrasound appointment. Once in the ultrasound room my appointment ran smoothly and check out was seamless. I was told my images would be sent to my OBGYN within two weeks which was spot on. My OBGYN called and delivered the results over the phone. read more

I have always received nice and very polite attention from the staff at the front door at Wellington, Florida location. The same is not quite at any other different location. Akumin gives the opportunity to pay in installment any pending balance not covered by the main insurance policy, if you don't have Medicaid. The way the billing office collect is sending reminding of any outstanding balance on the account through messages to the cell phone number. I am very pleased of the services they have rendered me at Wellington office. I am posting five stars because of the way they have always treated me as a patient. read more

I called to make an appointment and could barely understand the person at the call center. The accent was very heavy. It took 30 minutes to schedule three procedures at once, and there was a two week wait, despite the urgency of the test. After locating another facility that had nearly immediate availability, I called to cancel and had to call twice since the first person could only cancel two of the procedures. Very bad experience, exhausting! I had a breast ultrasound done there. During the ultrasound, the radiologist left me somewhat scared, which made me want to know my results as soon as possible. week after week, I went to try get my results without success. I went back for my results 8 times, and they kept telling me these weren't ready. A month after I did the test, I told them I wouldn't leave until they handed it in, and that's when I finally got it without even receiving an apology. read more

I'm about to report this facility to CMS. You can't bill patients for test and not produce a complete report. You can't get hold of anyone, emails are sent on your behalf, but no one follows up. This facility needs to be shutdown. They are reckless. read more

NEVER GO HERE!!! When I arrive the waiting room was so packed I couldn't sit down. They were so behind that I was not even asked for payment until 1 hour after arrival. Then upon giving them my secondary insurance they told me they couldn't take it- basically telling me whoever bills won't do their job. Akumin would not issue me a refund for a canceled payment plan, so I had to go through my credit card company to get them to issue it. Three weeks of calling them and they assured me it would be refunded to no avail. I would avoid Akumin at all cost. read more

CONGRATULATIONS CORPORATE!!!!!!!! YEAH.... You have finally managed to completely alienate the customers who make you rich. Against my better judgement after reading all the glowing ZERO reviews I was extremely hesitant about going here but due to insurance I had no choice. You corporate, were so excited about the profit you will receive from my recent visit that you felt the need to ping my phone at 7:00 am and wake me up after I worked a long 12hr shift so I can give my feedback to your very limited survey questions. You want my feedback, well here it is. Please note, that I have never done this before but now I feel compelled to not hold it in. Let's start with the appointment process. The recording on the long hold line to the one and (only # to call) will get to this in a minute, gives the impression that if you want to speak to a real person you are just going to have to wait for as long as it takes or you can "do it yourself" online. Just do it yourself. From the corp. view, the less one on one communication the better. People want to talk to people. What if you have questions? Online isn't going to be able to answer them. When someone finally did answer I asked the agent for the phone number to the facility referencing previous poor reviews so I can call in advance the day of my hour long journey to verify if they were on time or running late. The agent told me they don't have a number to center and that they can't even call there. Once again, we the people are not allowed to talk to anyone. On the way to facility I once again called the only number, waited approx. 20min to speak to a live person. There are limited prompts on the phone with not many options so I once was forced to talk to an appointment person. Corporate alienation once again. Just for kicks knowing better I asked the agent if he could tell me If they were running on time or having delays at the Wellington center as I had a busy day ahead and if they were running late I would have made one of my stops on the way. He put me on hold and then came back and assured me they were on time and I would be seen at my appt. time. OK don't know how he could say that since they can't call there but ok. When I arrived there were 2 girls sitting behind some "wall" of a desk set up and one of them popped up and yelled out if I had an appt. which I indicated I did as I walked over. She quickly put her arm out to halt me in my tracks as saying "don't come over here" and pointed "over there" to about 10 ipads on a stand to CHECK MYSELF IN". Well if I didn't feel welcome, warm and cozy. I asked one of the girls if there is a direct phone # here in case I had after questions and she advised me there was not and there was no way to contact anyone here. All calls go to appt. phone # and hope for the best. Alienation at its finest. I also asked if techs were on time and if on schedule and she stated they were and I would be seen at my time. I then took a seat and while waiting I watched what I had just experienced go on throughout my time there. Real in personable. Way to go corp. At one time one of the girls was helping another patient yelling at him that something was wrong with his ss # and proceeded to yell back to him his ss# out loud so everyone could here. Don't really know what to say about that. Just as all the previous reviews. I waited 45min past my scheduled time. I could have ran one of my errands on the way. What ever happened to having the nice, helpful lady sitting at a desk to greet and check people in? What ever happened to be able to call the office if you have a question? Why does conversation and in person assistance not exist? CORP GREED. That's what happened. You ping and inundate my phone w/ texts reminding me of my appt., but where is my option to remind you I will be there at my time and if there is a delay please extend me a courtesy text to let me know so I don't lose any of my valuable time sitting for nothing? My tech was great and couldn't have been nicer so was the girl that worked with him. I did some venting and he could not have been more understanding. I think he felt embarrassed, ashamed and helpless due to the fact that this is how this corporation is ran. As an employee myself I want to be able to hold my head high and be proud of where I am employed. I don't get that feeling with the employees here. Your survey questions are very limited. There is also no comment section I'm sure for this kind of reason and other reviews. No need to post an automated impersonal response of trying to do better or being disappointed. Even before the appointment, the woman Nykoia (?) at the call center went above and beyond helping me. Called me back with information I asked about. Also the young lady who called to confirm was very friendly and helpful. Check in was fast and efficient and despite a full waiting room, I was taken immediately. Ulyana, my CT technician, was beyond the best. Super friendly, but also very efficient with everything, including being very reassuring. It probably won't do any good to provide feedback knowing that despite the complains nothing will change because this is the only facility that most doctors send referral to. The facility need updating, dark, dingy and leave you not so great feeling. Phone service zero in customer service. Clueless and sadly lost some common sense. The technician who gave me my mammogram was excellent. The receptionist gave little to no instructions about preparation for exam nor finding gowns and what to do. There were no clean gowns in an obvious place and no instructions about where to find them. read more

I had to wait 2.5 hours for my ultrasound. The experience on getting the appointment was very bad as well. My doctor sent order to them. I called them multiple times and they said they don't have the order yet. Then when I insisted them to check throughly, they found the order. Such a horrible service. read more

Place is very busy always. The girls behind the desk really TRY to help, but often over worked. Being 'kind' by coming and signing in, then sit down. They WILL CALL YOU- a 'smile' goes a long way, it is not their fault. On phone, asking for medical records, they answered and were nice and emailed them to me within 30 min. from my request. Give them a try........... Only gave 4 stars bec, it was an 'over crowed' office always and a lot of work for a few girls up front trying to please and process so many people. read more

Yesterday, 1/17/2024 I had a horrifying experience at Akumin, Wellington location on Palomino Park. I was scheduled for 2 MRI tests to be done, with and without contrast. I was initially told that I had to fast for 8 hours, then next person I spoke to said fast for 4 hours and the third person said to fast for 6 hours. I finally called my Doctor's office and was told 2 to 4 hours, so I did 4 hours. I explained to Akumin that I am claustrophobic and I was supposed to be placed in an open MRI machine, I ended up in the closed machine. I was also told that I could get off of the table and walk around for 15 minutes or so in between the 2 MRI's, because I cannot lay on that hard table for 80 minutes straight because I have a very bad back and my blood sugar would crash if I was in the machine that long. I was told at the facility that I could not get off the table between the 2 tests because of the contrast, so I only did one of the MRI's, they rescheduled me to the second one on the next day.....then I got a call stating that the radiologist at Akumin said I can't have the contrast 2 days in a row, WHAT A MESS.......These people need to train the staff to tell people correct information and they need to learn that THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE WORKING FOR US (THE PATIENTS), WE ARE NOT WORKING FOR THEM..... BEWARE IF YOU GO TO THIS PLACE. read more

I was scheduled for a closed MRI and I am very claustrophobic. so I was very nervous to say the least and my tech Nancy was incredible she keep me calm and relaxed the whole time. she was very patient and understanding. I was so GRATEFUL for her. I will always ask for her. read more

My husband and I had such a pleasant experience. The front desk staff was friendly and extremely helpful. Patricia and Clarissa were efficient yet we did not feel rushed with the paperwork. We were ushered to the testing room by a compassionate and kind man Rob. He could sense my husband's anxiety and agreed to letting me go with him. Liz was our next contact. She was professional and answered our questions patiently. She put my husband at ease and made sure he was comfortable. She made sure we received our CD before wishing us luck and leading us to the exit. We were not looking forward to this testing day, but our experience with Akumin could not have gone any better. read more
