Good luck here. I had an appointment schedule 3 weeks in advance and even called the evening before to ensure that my appointment was confirmed. Upon arrival I was told that they cancelled my exam. Zero empathy and an attitude of "not my problem". Their single technician who operates the CT section just decided not to come in (so I was told). They attempted to reschedule me a month and a half down the line and couldn't guarantee that their employee could show up. Would rather leave -5 star then give them the 1 star read more

Very disorganized. An MRI report still pending after almost 2 weeks. The call center is a joke, they put you on hold just to hang up on you. Extremely frustrating and unprofessional. read more

Another trip to acumen and another disaster. Never and I mean never, use this company. Second time two different locations for a bone density test and both I couldn't get it done. Spouse's appointment was at 5:30 - told they had to arrive 15 min early. Waited another 90 min. Appt times don't mean much - patients are expected to be there, but zero accountability to be seen within 1-2 hours of that timeslot. I get an unprofessional vibe from this company and it scares me a bit. Fingers crossed they use licensed healthcare professionals and are accurately reading the MRIs, CTs and other scans my doctors are trusting. These scans often guide major life or death medical decisions. We can't afford the pricier hospital outpatient facilities, but if we could, I'd go elsewhere. read more

After a recent doctor visit, I was referred to this imaging center that I was not familiar with. I literally called to make the appointment as I was walking out of the office, into the elevator (not too smart), out of the building and through the parking lot. The C.S. rep. who took the call was extremely patient--I mean he stayed on the line and assisted--even while the connection was paused. I requested that he send the appointment info. to my email and I got it within minutes. I knew then that my experience with this health facility was going to be a positive one. A few days prior to my scheduled appointment, I received a call from another rep. to confirm and she left a VM message with detailed information. An email would have sufficed, but grateful nonetheless. The afternoon of, I arrived at least 15 mins. prior to, as they asked. I checked in at the window and I was given paperwork to complete. The very young check-in attendant was a bit sassy, but I rolled with the punches, as they say. The only setback was that the center should have the paperwork online or the capability to email it to their patients. This is one of the busiest healthcare facilities that I have encountered and it would make the check-in, verification of insurance and ID, as well as the scanning of them smoother and less of a wait for the patients if they did. In my opinion, the waiting area could be updated just a tad, but they have comfortable chairs and two opposite-facing flat-screen TVs to cover the entire waiting room. Once called to the room, the tech. was professional and made me feel at ease. The one thing I did not have that would have made me feel more comfortable, was a sheet. I laid bare with only my underwear on as I waited for her to return. In my many years at imaging facilities, this was a first. Typically, they offer a sheet and then remove it as necessary to conduct the scan or ultrasound. I felt vulnerable, but the tech. was very nice and focused on the task at hand. Withal, this is a healthcare facility with room for improvement, that I recommend; especially for the honest staff working here. After getting home, I noticed I had left my watch and bracelets in the room. The next morning when I called, they confirmed having found them and were holding them for me. Anyone could have taken them. After all, they disclose not taking responsibility for jewelry and personal items; yet they held them for me. Thank you AKUMIN of Plantation! read more

I scheduled an ultrasound and mammogram for 8PM on Sept 10th at the 8300 W Sunrise Blvd. I stayed at work late so that I could be on time for this evening appointment. I received a call from the MRI Technician at around 6PM asking me to come in earlier. She asked me if I had the order for my tests - I confirmed. I then drove to the facility to get the tests done. I arrived and was completing regisitration when the rude MRI Technician (she refused to give me her name) came to the registration counter yelling my name. I confirmed I was the patient and she then ranted "YOU'RE HERE FOR A MAMMOGRAM AND ULTRASOUND OF YOUR RIGHT BREAST?". I was so embarrassed as the entire waiting room was engaged at this point. I politely asked her if she could please lower her voice as I didn't want my private information shared with the waiting room. She gave me a defying look and continued to yell "DO YOU HAVE THE CD FROM THE LAST MAMMO". I explained I was not instructed to bring in a CD, further she did not ask for the CD when she called me to come in early. She yelled "Well I can't see you today without so you'll have to reschedule" I explained how long it I've waited for the appointment and asked why I couldn't bring in the previous CD the next day. She said "I'm not doing anything without that CD" BYE! I have used Akumin for years, this was my first and last time at this particular branch. I called the next day to lodge a complaint. I spoke with Ana who tried to be helpful but wouldn't give me the name of the technician. She assured me she had notified Rafael Ferge, site manager and Brandy Espinosa, Clinical Administrator. She stated I would get a call back. That call has still not come. I asked for emails or direct phone numbers, she declined to give them. It's sad to think you have no recourse when employees treat you however they want, even if they violate HIPPA! read more

They will not do MRI if you have any wires or stimulator in you. They will book your appointment, knowing that. Have you come in and wait and at the last minute when you are ready to get in MRI they turn you down. This happened twice. Even if you have the card that says it's safe in MRI. I had a great experience at this Akumin facility today. I was greeted by a lovely front desk person who was friendly and efficient. Wow - This place is remarkably terrible. It literally feels like you're waiting at the DMV. Customer service is atrocious. If you have an appointment, plan in advance that you will not be seen by a provider for at LEAST one hour past your appointment time. I don't know that it's the staffs fault necessarily, clearly this organization is for-profit, and has a system in place to overbook/max out appointments each day, leaving no wiggle room for any delays that naturally occur during individual appointments. The customer service skills over the phone are absolutely terrible as well - My doctor needed my results re-faxed and the person I spoke to literally sounded like they just woke up and were irritated speaking to me. **This review is for the Plantation location. Perhaps some of their smaller/satellite offices are better. read more

I did my MRI at this facility today. I forgot to take pictures. The staff was very attentive upon arrival and explained the check in process. I didn't have to wait long in the waiting area to be seen. My MRI was over in 15 mins and the staff explained next steps. It then took about 10 mins to collect the disc. I was pleased with the overall service, efficiency and attentiveness of the staff. Would highly recommend. read more

I had two MRIs at ADG in Lake Worth in January of this year. I received a disc and Fedexed it to UMiami at the beginning of June for review. I have been trying to get help with this matter, I need to get my images to UMiami to determine if I need surgery. I returned to the office last week and Denise, a supervisor assured me she would help me. It's been over a week and I have called and emailed her several times, with no reply. I have tried to contact Akumin corporate by email and phone, with no response. I need to get this information to move on with my plans and frankly, my life. The level of communication is zero. This place is unlike anything a medical provider should offer. I arrived in the early morning for an appointment I planned far in advance to be told that I should reschedule because the internet was not working. I asked if I could wait, and received a dismissive response. When I asked if I could leave my number so that they could call me I was sent to a scheduler who I had to convince to write down my number. Apparently when the internet doesn't work this whole business falls apart. I was not called and had to make an appointment somewhere else with all kinds of problems attached with the insurance permissions. I missed my scheduled doctors appointment on the next day since I didn't have the MRI. what a waste of all my planning. read more

On June 12 I called to make an appointment for a breast ultrasound. Juan Carlos took the information, including the type of exam I needed and didn't say a word that according to the policy of Akumin I will need a mammogram first (I am 35 years old, no history of cancer in family, no implants). When I came to the appointment on June 23 the lady at the reception (was constantly on the phone discussing some personal issues by the way) gave me the papers to sign and when I finished doing that, she decided to tell me that they can't do ultrasound today and I will need to schedule mammogram first. So, basically people scheduling the appointments have no idea what they are doing and what the akumin policy is. No one called beforehand to tell me that I can't have the ultrasound that I was scheduled for and I had to spend an hour driving to the facility to find out that no one will see and akumin is always having issues like this with the calling center. It's unacceptable and absolutely unprofessional. Moreover they all don't know where I should call to provide my feedback regarding their so-called work and services. read more

This is a very dirty and gross facility seems more like a ghetto clinic than an imaging center. They were recently under a ransomware attack and had to file bankruptcy. The Akumin in Plantation is housed in a very indistinct building. It's located at 8300 W Sunrise in Plantation; however, the 3 is missing off of the building. The receptionist, a 20- something girl with long black hair and glasses was ridiculously rude! She got smart and told me the tech has been waiting for me. She said it like I was late or something! I was there at 5:55pm for my 6:00 pm appointment! She said "Well, it's 6:07." First of all it was 6:05 when she said that and she acted like I wasn't standing there signing those d*** papers. WTF?! Please learn how to read a clock that's not digital. I'm ok now. Anywho, the technicians made up for it. The MRI tech was professional and patient explaining everything. Lisa, the echocardiogram tech, was personable. I was in and out in a little over an hour. If they get my imagining to the doctor in the time frame that they said then I'm satisfied but if they don't, I will be updating this review. read more

Utter lack of concern or respect for patients. DMV visits are a walk in the park compared to this facility. The staff at Plantation are particularly disrespectful and act as if they're doing you a favor. The attitude is they can't be bothered with details let alone your health concerns. For context I came to this facility, signed and delivered an authorization for medical imaging results to be requested from Baptist Health. I was assured by Andrea at medical records that the fax would be sent and nothing more had to be done, they'd take care of everything. I had an appointment for 2 weeks later. That's today. I show up, no records. I ask Andrea if the fax was sent and am assured it was, but she says she can't provide a fax confirmation and blames Baptist. Baptist says they never received the fax. This is now 2 times I had to take sick leave, completely wasted time, because of utter incompetence. The only person who seemed to care is Chris at the medical records window. He needs to find a job where his work ethic is appreciated and encouraged. This place is the worst. No one is accountable and they expect people to accept, without question, their word and their disrespect for your time. Go anywhere else, pay whatever the cost. If you didn't have a medical condition before just dealing with this crew will make sure you do. The only reasons I'm giving one star is because I can't select zero and because they were smart enough to hire Chris. Update: I got a phone number and fax number for Baptist health to make sure the fax went through while I was there with the hope I'd be able to get my imaging done today. Turns out Andrea shows up with documentation confirming that the fax won't go through ... but they can't produce confirmation that it did go through when she claims she sent it 2 weeks ago? That's the problem with lying, you gotta remember them lies to keep your story straight. read more

made appointment told them 4 times before I came in that I had a "filter"implant and they noted it. I have had at least 5 other MRIs done at other MRI locations (with the filter) and never had an issue. But after contacting the hospital were the procedure was done and getting the records, and sending them in to Akumen, I called 4x sat on hold for over 20-30 minuteseach time, to see if I can have the MRI, each time, even when asking for a supervisor, no one from Akumen would return my call. But they would remind me daily by both text and email, that I needed to make an appointment for the MRI! I have NEVER fought so hard to pay people money. Took my elderly parent in for a chest x ray a few months ago. No one had a mask. The sign on the door said masks required but I was told that that was old policy. This is a health care provider with compromised visitors. The attitude was one of little to no concern. The waiting room looked like Grand Central Station with patients sitting around on a small number of chairs. Out of concern for my 90 year old parents health and based on what I saw, we left. The customer service at the place is absolutely horrifying. Upon my visit Lisa at window number 5, violated HIPPA Privacy Laws at least five times within 20 mins. Lisa at window number five had the audacity to become upset when I told her that she was violating my privacy. Do not go to this place!!! This was my first visit to Akumin in Plantation 4/15/21 and wow I was extremely impressed with my entire visit. I honestly I agree with other Yelp Elite Reviewers that I am not sure why this place has a two star rating. The level of service and speed I received today was excellent and this place and staff does not deserve a 2 star rating. Appointment was very easy to make and when I requested a call back once the Verification Department knew my copay, I received a call back and the exact amount of my copay. I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment which was at 8 am and from start to finish the staff with the amount of people that go there handled and checked me in immediately. The paperwork was straightforward, I paid the exact amount of copay Verification Department said I would. I was there for a CT scan nothing too complicated. I literately waited 3 mins and I was called in by another staff member. She was so professional and thorough. Once she was done with my scan she walked me back to Medical Records. Then, Medical Records was very nice asked me for my name and D.O.B and said it will be a few minutes for the CD of my images. I waited maximum 5 mins. I was in and out by 8:20 am! To me that was incredible speed for this type of service. They are excellent at what they do and have a wonderful system to get people in and out. Without a doubt I would, hoping I don't need too but if I did I would definitely go back to Akumin. I was extremely impressed and job well done to the staff that helped me today! read more

I've been to this location in years past - when it was under other company names. Those times I was picking up a family member or a family member's medical records so I never ventured beyond the waiting room, until today. Don't let the waiting room color your world as it did mine. The people who work here are very nice (several adopted the habit of calling patients/customers 'love'). They have patience beyond my reach and keep a steady calm while dealing with people who show up on the wrong days or without appointments. Today I listened to employees repeatedly explain they didn't yet have authorization for a test scheduled for tomorrow but the woman who showed up insisted they could fit her in today. I don't know how they kept their cool. Others walked in without appointments, figuring they could just get tested, as if this was a supermarket where they could just pull what they needed off of a shelf. Many seemed surprised that they need to schedule a medical test. I watched a couple of people walk up to the counter to complain that they were still waiting past their appointment time. It was as if they didn't see the people behind the counter scrambling to keep up with the phone calls, people and administrative work. The person who took my information at the counter was friendly (we compared manicure designs) and really nice. For all the drama that the patients/customers dragged in with them, the employees are extremely friendly and calm. WHAT is in their water? And how can I get some?) I was seen within a half hour of my appointment - the tech escorted me to a very clean room. She too was very friendly and we chatted while she performed the test. I liked her and how organized and clean everything looked. Before long I was done and on my way. My doctor got the results a few hours later (I think he must have ordered them stat). I have to see another doctor and take care of the health issue they helped discover. I'm glad that albeit busy, they got me in the day after New Years Day, when they were closed, and quickly forwarded the test findings to my doctor. This is helping me get the medical help I need, fast. I'm glad I looked past the customer issues and focused on the quality of the employees, their clinical service/expertise and prompt test reporting. I'd return in a heartbeat - likely with earplugs to drown out the waiting room drama, but I'd still return! read more

It's been two weeks after AKUMIN did the ultrasound, and still, my doctor hasn't received the results.

Went there for an MRI of lumbar and pelvis. Arrived early for my appointment, filled out all the paperwork and waited and it 2aant until I turned in my paperwork that the girl at the register told me they never received a script from my doctor. I called my doctors office twice before the appt to confirm it was faxed over. Well they said they couldn't see me without the prescription so I waited an hour for nothing. Made an appointment for the next day and called my doctor first thing in the morning to fax me the prescription so it doesn't get lost somewhere again. Went back for my appointment later that evening and luckily there was no line. The lady who did the MRI for me was nice. The room was clean and the equipment looked dated but well kept. After my screening, I paid the $300 copay and left. A couple weeks after my appointment I got a statement from my insurance company saying I owe $2,990 for my MRI.... AKUMIN filed my procedure as some office in California which obviously is not where I went as I live in Florida. So as an out of network facility and not where my insurance has approved the MRI, I got billed incorrectly. After much hassle with my insurance company to prove I did go to the correct AKUMIN location that is in my network, I hope to never return to this disorganized facility. read more

Not sure why this place has such low ratings as my visit was very pleasant. I was a little flustered when I saw the amount of people waiting to be examined. With the current regulations due to COVID-19, this location is taking all the necessary steps to keep patients safe. They require all guests to have masks on and they have created a seating area outside to ensure they are adhering to the social distancing policy. From some of the reviews I read, there were a few people that complained about the amount of time they had to wait. I was there for no more than 40 minutes which included registration.
