    I had an appoint for an X-Ray and MRI at 9:20am and arrived at 9:00am. I was seen by a receptionist immediately without any wait time. There are 7 receptionist stations which definitely helps. Mine was friendly, efficient, and checked me in quickly. The waiting area is large with plenty of seating, accessible restroom, water fountain, and televisions. I have been to other Akumins where this was definitely not the case, this was all nice to see. I was called back from the waiting room at 9:46am, brought to the back to a second patient waiting area which I was called from at 10:06am at which time my MRI was performed. The technician was kind and professional. After the MRI I went to medical records to request a copy and was seen right away. That employee also very professional and processed my requests quickly. Overall, I was pleased with the facility, staff, and imaging. My only complaint is the hour long wait to be seen but unfortunately that seems to be common practice now and most medical facilities.

    Making an appointment with this company was a frustrating experience. Regardless of the location you called, all appointment calls are handled by overseas reps with a heavy langue barrier. I spent 2 days and spoke with 6 different locations before setting an appointment with the 7th location I called, for a not so ideal time, nor location. Thankfully 2 days later an American based representative called me to confirm my appointment, review my needs, and explain some insurance details. She was incredibly helpful and after hearing about my poor experience, she went out of her way to get me a new appointment at a location and time which is more convenient for me. My appointment was this evening at 7pm at the Plantation location. Checking in went smoothly, everything was already provided to them by be via their online portal and documentation uploading services. At exactly 7pm I was seen, and my screening took 8 min, it was easy and fast. I was out of there before 7:15 The US based representative and the staff at the Plantation office are the reason this review is getting even 3 stars. Without that, this would have been way lower. The overseas representative unfortunately made scheduling an appointment extremely difficult/ constantly misunderstanding, having me repeatedly give them the same information over and over, and offering unrelated times and at locations I did not request. If it was frustrating for someone in their 30s, I can't imagine what elderly patients go through.

    This is the second time I have come to this place for a mammogram. They are understaffed both times. I have waited over two hours only to find out that they are taking patients that were scheduled after me before me. When I arrived at the counter, I told them I had to go to work and if they thought that I would be out of here in less than two hours, they confirmed yes definitely it'll only be a few minutes. I'm glad I don't work for them because I don't like their few minutes. I had also made a couple phone calls ahead of time to make sure that there was enough time and they kept telling me 15 minutes. I left messages with no return phone calls. If there was a -5 star, that is what I would've given I will never return to Ackerman again .

She was able to get me in to get the procedure done. * Check-In and Forms: as the time got closer to get my ultrasound done, she politely called me over. She highlighted the areas in the form that needed to be signed. * Procedure: quick and effective. Very busy office and staff works hard. Upon entering it was controlled chaos with fifteen impatient people waiting for the next step of the application process. I have been here a few times in the past but prefer the "Open MRI" machine since I've had issues with the thirty year old tiny hole version and had to reset another appointment. The process was simple: 1. Sign your name on the chart 2. Fill out stats and waiver 3. Wait for your name called 4. Meet with intake staff 5. Sit and stay very silent 6. Name called and enter 7. Secure personal items 8. MRI conducted for 15 min 9. Obtain disc of MRI 10. Leave quickly My MRI was promptly conducted on my appointment time. The tech Melissa was so nice and explained each step of the MRI process which went flawlessly while listening to 80s rock which produced a calming effect when in the tube. It was concluded in fifteen minutes and was provided a disc of the MRI to take with me to the follow up appointment with my ortho.

    I had been getting my mammograms at Memorial for years but unfortunately had to find another…read morefacility due them becoming out of network with my health insurance company. Akumin was in-network which was verified with them when I called to make an appointment. I believe this location has Saturday hours once a month. I had to get 5 years' worth of my mammogram records & films which I brought with me and gave to them to upload into their system. When I was checking out, the lady at the desk was very nice and asked if I wanted to wait for them to copy them or come back. I told her that I would come back another day. She told me that she would leave it off to the side and pointed to the area she was talking about. There were a couple of people in the waiting room waiting for their scan. I was called in shortly after arriving. The tech was efficient and I was out of there fairly quick. I got a glass nail file for Breast Cancer Month! I went back today to pick up my film CD and had a totally different experience. When I told them that I was picking up my CD, they told me to sign in and someone would be with me. After sitting for a few minutes, I got up to ask for my CD. The lady at the desk asked my name which I gave and also spelled out my last name. I saw a Manila folder with a CD paper clipped to the outside of it and asked if that was mine. She barely glanced over there and told me that it wasn't and proceeded to tell me that they just went through their old records and that's what was there. She looked in a big expandable folder, pulled out a CD and turned around to give it to me when she realized it wasn't mine. She looked through the rest of the expandable and told me they didn't have it. I asked her again if that Manila folder was mine because it looked like the envelope that I brought it in. She went over to look at it and shook her head no. She asked a coworker if they burned any CD's. That person must have recognized me from my prior appt and asked if I had a mammogram which I told her that I did. The coworker went right to the stack where I had been telling the other one about, picked up the Manila envelope and looked at it, then handed it to the lady who apparently couldn't read. She handed it to me and didn't even bother to apologize. This would have been a 4-star rating if I didn't have the bad experience today.

    Terrible Company -repeated Cancelled Appointments, No return calls…read more I received an imaging order form from my doctor for two scans on 4/8/26. I immediately called to schedule the doctor-ordered scans. I was told by the scheduler, that she could not make one of the scan appointments after making my one appointment, and she transferred me to another number where no operator answered, so I left a message. No one ever returned my call that day or the entire following week. The company scheduler scheduled my a scan for the morning of April 15th at one location. I rearranged my schedule for this appointment. Late the night before my April 15th appointment, I received a call cancelling it. I called back the morning of 4/15/26 and made a new appointment for the same morning, an hour round trip from my home, and then raced to the location. As I pulled into the parking lot of the location, I received a call canceling my appointment. I was then scheduled for another Appointment, across the county in the afternoon. I rearranged my schedule for this appointment. I next called their office and scheduled my other scan at a different location and was given a different office in for April 28th, 2026. I rearranged my schedule for this appointment. Subsequently, the scheduler called back to cancel the appointment. A new appointment was made for May 11th, 2026. I called the company office to speak to a supervisor and have been on hold for 25 minutes. No one has yet returned my call. Sent an email. No response.

She had an issue with her medical place that referred her but the associate at this location was calling to assist my mom. Everyone here was very professional and sweet. I called her medical office that referred her because the associate here was on hold. I was able to get a hold of her doctor office that referred her and was able to get the fax number of this location to receive the referral order. My mom experience was good because the nurse that took care of her mammogram called her fast and took care of her. She was super sweet. The reception area was clean and the tv was playing one of my favorite show which is called "The Price is right". The parking is free and close to this location.
