Terrible Company -repeated Cancelled Appointments, No return calls I received an imaging order form from my doctor for two scans on 4/8/26. I immediately called to schedule the doctor-ordered scans. I was told by the scheduler, that she could not make one of the scan appointments after making my one appointment, and she transferred me to another number where no operator answered, so I left a message. No one ever returned my call that day or the entire following week. The company scheduler scheduled my a scan for the morning of April 15th at one location. I rearranged my schedule for this appointment. Late the night before my April 15th appointment, I received a call cancelling it. I called back the morning of 4/15/26 and made a new appointment for the same morning, an hour round trip from my home, and then raced to the location. As I pulled into the parking lot of the location, I received a call canceling my appointment. I was then scheduled for another Appointment, across the county in the afternoon. I rearranged my schedule for this appointment. I next called their office and scheduled my other scan at a different location and was given a different office in for April 28th, 2026. I rearranged my schedule for this appointment. Subsequently, the scheduler called back to cancel the appointment. A new appointment was made for May 11th, 2026. I called the company office to speak to a supervisor and have been on hold for 25 minutes. No one has yet returned my call. Sent an email. No response. read more

As soon as you walk in it smells like a baby fresh. It smelled sooo majestic. I took my mom to get a mammogram here. She had an issue with her medical place that referred her but the associate at this location was calling to assist my mom. Everyone here was very professional and sweet. I called her medical office that referred her because the associate here was on hold. I was able to get a hold of her doctor office that referred her and was able to get the fax number of this location to receive the referral order. My mom experience was good because the nurse that took care of her mammogram called her fast and took care of her. She was super sweet. The reception area was clean and the tv was playing one of my favorite show which is called "The Price is right". The parking is free and close to this location. read more

Went to this location on 9/4/2025 for both a screening mammogram, and bone mineral density tests. Although I was never asked about access to prior examinations, access to both were provided via email on the same day as my exam, as instructed. Both of my reports indicate "no prior examinations available". I have reached out to Akumin. There is no way to reach testing locations; all calls are rerouted to their answering calls center. Not the easiest place to find. Usually I go to Akumin in Boca Raton but because I had to change my appt, and they couldn't take me for another month, I went to this location. I walked in and I was a little put off. My appointment was for 1:15 pm. It was obvious they were running behind. I filled out the paperwork and then I waited. I waited about 30 minutes. Once I went in, Cecilia took care of me and was quite pleasant and helpful. Their 3 D imaging is helpful and goes very quickly. I was able to leave quickly and had my mammography done. (BTW, I did bring my doctor's orders with me so I had no problem with that). I hope to go back to the Boca location next year (very close to my house) - next year I will make the appt way earlier to get the month I need. read more

So I go for my appointment at 8 AM. I'm in the waiting room and I hear my name called. I walk inside and they tell me the MRI machine is not working. The computers are down. We're gonna have to reschedule. They rescheduled for another facility Akumin in the same town for the next day at 7 AM. The next day I get up super early to make sure I'm at my appointment at a different facility at 7 AM. Waited there about 45 minutes to find out that their machine was broken and their computers were down. Is this any way to run a business? Somebody should've notified me by email, text or phone? My time is valuable and you just wasted two days of my time I will not recommend this imaging center in the future. read more

Stay away. I got me doctor's order on 19 June 2025. I went Akumin for an appointment for a CT scan. They told me the CT scanner was broken and gave me an appointment for 22 July 2025. Near that date, they called to cancel my appointment. They told me they needed training. I got another appointment for 12 August 2025. Akumin called me today to say here would be no technician available for my scheduled appointment and I needed to make another appointment weeks away or go to another location miles away. I don't trust Akumin with appointments. Now I need to find someplace I can trust to keep a scheduled appointment. Luckily my scan is not critical. read more

Today I took my mom in for an MRI and the staff was so wonderful!! They assisted me with my mom who's visually impaired! I met the MRI tech and a young lady Mrs. Wilma who automatically took my mom and started helping her get undressed and prepared for me while I did the paperwork* by the way they didn't known that she was blind! UPDATE: Went in again for the test that Akumin scheduling messed up on, and their system was down! Again, my test could not be done. Great news though, my doctor can do the test and I never have to go back to Akumin again. Do your research & avoid Akumin if you can. Akumin utilizes a call center in the Philippines for scheduling which means you are booked into a time slot despite no technician actually being there to perform the service. When this is discovered the front desk incessantly blames the call center rather than solve the problem. All the technicians do their job very well, however, this is the 2nd time the front office has shown me that Akumin does not care. The floor is littered & the bathroom smells like urine. This might have been due to the black mold in the toilet bowl. Tell me you engage in socialized medicine without actually saying socialized medicine. read more

I have not had as much trouble with waiting and scheduling as I have had with the accuracy of the radiologist readings. The last 3, back MRI, xray, and upper arm xray all had errors on the radiologist reading. The most recent MRI was another mis-read. On this last one, the doctor will need to ask for a re-read. Unfortunately with Oscar, options are very limited. I read about a mammo experience. I would never in a million years trust Akumin to do my Mammo. read more

I contacted "Lexi" to make an Appt, needed to repeat myself several times on every question.. she placed me on hold for 10 minutes to check availability, came back stating she was looking "now"?? Confirmed my Appt for Saturday. After researching cheaper MRI options I called the 954 753 3800 Akumin back to cancel. "David" rcvd the call.. let's just say he was verbally AGRESSIVE and I'm not sure why.. I also found out "Lexi" had scheduled me for a THURSDAY, which I would have missed, Because of her incompetence and thus caused a LATE CHARGE which I would had to fight! it is a shame they do not provide a 0 for rating, since it would have been the only rating Akumin should get. the level of incompetent I encountered from the first conversation till my beyond terrible and unexpectable experience today is definitely bellow zero. I was diagnosed with Breast cancer in 2004, had surgery and radiation and followed with yearly mammogram and ultrasound at the same place until they closed about a year and a half ago. My doctor sent a referral to Akumin and they called me to schedule an appointment for both, during that time I explained (over and over again during a 30 minutes conversation) that I do not have my previous record since the place closed and i cannot reach anyone to get them, and the appointment for diagnostic tests was made for a month and a half! from that conversation. today I got to the appointment, explained again why I do not have any previous record and waited half an hour for a nurse to come out to tell me that since I do not have records - their radiologist would NOT read my results!!! and preceded to tell me that I can still have the tests done but they would not be read!!! and to my question, why their radiologist cannot read a mammogram since it is impossible for me to not get any more mammograms just because I have no record, I got a shoulder shrug I would expect from a 5 year old not a nurse and a receptionist at a medical facility. so now I have waited and delayed my mammogram a month and a half, and took an unpaid day off for absolutely nothing I am going to call my doctor today and tell them what happened and suggest they look at the many poor reviews of Akumin and find another place to send/recommend to their patients. I had an appointment I arrived and was greeted by a very charming young lady by the name of Ms.T she was very perfessional and polite with great customer service I then got called by Carol the tech who already had an attitude when she called me she then we started talking and you can hear in her voice she was already pissed and I felt very uncomfortable dealing with miserable Carol and her attitude so she canceled out of nowhere for no reason and because of her actions I will never ever deal with this center again and I have reported everything to the bbb. Have you ever felt like you've been squeezed out of your appointment? I was referred to Akuman for a mammogram for a patient who had breast implants. I had to wait 4 weeks for a specialist! . I waited four weeks for this appointment. As I was at the facility and waiting for the technician to complete setting up from my appointment, she got an inter office phone call .A friend of the staff showed up and wanted to get a mammogram done as well. The girl agreed to squeeze her in upon my scheduled time . As you can figure the technicians in a hurry and ruptured my implant. After spending the almost 3 weeks in the hospital and both intensive care and CCU, I contacted Ackman and spoke to Dana and tried to explain to her what had happened to see if they would help me and they turned their back on me. They accused me of hiring legal representation, which I never spoke of doing . So essentially, they were putting words in my mouth! I was treated unfairly and rudely! How can you do this to a patient? Do they not have any compassion? Do they even care? Or are they just there to feel boobs and collect a pay check? Unless you want your implants ruptured and you want to go through all this pain I would highly suggest you not go to this company! The compassion's not there ! Terrible Customer Service...Terrible Experience! I called to schedule an appointment for a Diagnostic Mammogram with a Dr. Referral. I had to wait 2 months to get the appointment for a painful issue. The Friday before the appointment, I received a call to confirm my appointment which I had already done on line. The woman on the phone who called me kept putting me on hold and was unclear as to whether or not my appointment could be confirmed and told me she would call me back yet never did. I arrived at 2:10 for my 2:30 appt, completed my paperwork, paid my copay and waited patiently to be called. I was called at 2:50 for my 2:30 appt...no big deal. I get in the room and tell my tech what is going on and she tells me I have the wrong order. I said let's call the Dr to get the correct order. She walks out to the front desk staff and tells her to call my Dr and if she doesn't get the correct order right away that I will have to reschedule. Being proactive, I immediately get my Drs office on the phone to get the correct order..meanwhile the front desk girl hasn't even called yet. I told her that my Dr is on my phone and needs to codes for the proper order. She said she doesn't have them..the tech did not give them to her. I asked her to please get them from the tech and she said she is with another patient and can't be disturbed. I have my Drs office wait on hold with me until the Tech is available and had them speak directly to the Tech who once again said if I do not have them soon you will have to reschedule. Per Akumin's instruction, I had my Drs office fax the new order while I waited on the phone. I asked the front desk girl if she received them and was told that faxes are not immediate and I would have to reschedule. So I had my Drs office text me the order right then (by this time it is 3:20) and the front desk girl rudely tells me that I will have to reschedule because the Tech leaves at 3:45. It will now take another two months to get an appointment. Why waste my time and have me jump through hoops to get the new order within 15 mins if they were still going to cancel me. No compassion...no patience. I was early to my appointment...it was the Tech that was late. I had the new order in my hands within 15 mins of her request And it would've been sooner if the Tech would have provided the code prior to seeing another patient in my time slot. read more

This is an update to my review. This has been one of the worst experiences of bad customer service that I've had in a long time! I called the Coral Springs office to make sure that my testing has been sent to my doctor before I meet with him this week. No matter what extension I pressed - medical records, front desk, billing, any extension - it rings and rings with no answer and no voicemail. I finally press the scheduling number and Ray answers the phone and I tell him that I'm just trying to reach the Coral Springs office so that I can see if they sent my imaging. He puts me on hold because he says he's going to try to reach the office. I'm on hold for OVER 20 minutes! I even took a screenshot of it! Unbelievable! So finally, I call the corporate office number and it routes me to the office in Aventura. I explain my issue to the lady that answers the phone and she assures me that she will send all of the tests to my doctor. I leave a message for Lisa Hoyt who is the regional manager for Akumin and let her know my utter disbelief and displeasure with this entire process! Ms. Hoyt called me back within an hour. She was pleasant and very apologetic. She stated that she would make sure my imaging got to my physician and she was on her way to the Coral Springs office because she was unable to get through. My imaging was at the doctors by my appointment. The staff is nice but I would not recommend anyone to Akumin. Please do not waste your time. Save yourself some frustration and headache! read more

I was told I would have my results within 2 to 3 days and then on the third day when I asked for my results, they said they had been backed up for two weeks and there's no way I would get my results anytime soon. Dealing with this location has been very frustrating. For two times in a row they have scheduled my appointment last minute. The first time was because the technician had an emergency and the second time was because "the power went out" and I was 5 minutes away from the office. Then when they try to reschedule me they don't have availability for at least 6 weeks. If you are going to cancel my appointment last minute you should give me at least some priority in terms of rescheduling. Will never return. read more

Update December 2021. Akumin's scheduling department is a hot mess. As much as I like the staff at the center I have asked my physician to find another imaging company for my upcoming CT scan. This CT scan is time sensitive because it must be done within 30 days of my labs. Unfortunately Alumin has lost my doctor's/Rx order three times and each time I call I'm on hold for quite a while before I get a human being. Apparently they don't even look at the online scheduling that they recommend we use. They never responded To my online request. I don't have time to work with their incompetence. If I could give their scheduling department less than 1 star I would. read more

As a relatively young person who brought his mother, am sitting here and i see how the staff treats old people here. The burocracia between appointments, referrals, prescription, etc is unbelievable. The akumin stuff does not do much to help out. They allow people to be in the reception to be without mask and on their cellphones. Unbelievable i went for a mammogram and bone density screening on thursday the 18th of january 24 my apptmt was 11 am i reach there 18 m after 10 and registered i told the lady at the desk it was 2 procedures she have me done the papes for mammogram and ask me to have a seat.i was sitting there untill 11.30 i went to her and ask why i dont hear my name then she ask me to have a seat ill soon hear it.l went back at 11 55 she said she needed a script fr my doct for the bonedensity so i shld reschedule of which i did i ask so what about the mammo she said they r backed up and my chart is sitting behind her no one take it up .I ask why then she said if i wanted to reschedule the mao i said i am here waiting almost 2 hrs only to be told to reschedule she scan my ID 3 seperate times after going to her desk 4 ttimes .Almost every one just wLk in and register and get tru with me sitting there frustrated and stress its ashame how i was treated i got up and walk out at 12 pm i wldnt recommend Ackumin to any one my experience was horrible i hope they dont charge medicare a cent i will deny service read more

I had an 8am appt for a mammo and ultrasound.. at 8:30 someone finally told me they didn't have the script .. they told me to call my dr and get the script .. I called twice and had it faxed .. about 15 min later they said they never received it .. I called the dr office back they did fax it to the correct number .. they still didn't receive it .. I walked over to the dr office and picked up the script .. the drs office also showed me the receipt from faxing it .. brought back script to front desk.. still waiting to be called it's almost 9:15 .. still waiting .. they should really have better customer service read more

This is a very difficult time when women have to do a mammogram or ultrasound always scares But, I found a Very nice to place, Jorge the manager at this place is wonderful, when he looks at the front desk I have a problem with my papers from the insurance, he takes everything in his hand and change my day and my stress. Terrible Service would be a compliment to these bunch of CLOWNS. My wife needed a MRI for her ankle it took 3 weeks to get an appointment. You can NOT call the local office. They have a central booking you need to call. Each time you call it's a different person with a different story of what is needed. Finally got the appointment but that was only the beginning of the MOST unprofessional service ever. Being greeted by a loud person who looked like she needed a bath was the first sign to run from this house of horrors. She seemed to have a problem with everyone who walked in. I was trying to ask this rude person if there was any paperwork needed to be filled out. We could have fill out the paperwork instead of waiting 10 minutes only to be giving paper work. I was waiting for my wife for nearly 50 minutes and could not believe it could take so long for an MRI. My wife came out complaining that the sound was unbearable. She said she told the MRI tech the noise was too loud but he didn't seem to care. He said she moved and had to do the test again and that is why it was taking so long. I don't know what happen inside but I do know my wife had a very bad headache. I understand that MRI makes loud noise but listening to it for 50 minutes would be unbearable for anyone. They gave her a headset but it wasn't playing music to minimize the noise. Maybe the tech should have delayed or postponed the test for 30 minutes or so after he claimed she moved. Some supervisor of sorts was trying to clarify what happen. My wife at this time was so emotional and upset she just wanted to get out of there. I requested a refund which was granted so that was the only positive thing I would say about this office. If minus stars were possible they would get at least 5. read more

How can this be a legit business? they do not return phone calls, they do not have a human being answering their phones. They do not respond to appointments made online. My insurance company referred me to them, and they will refer me to a new provider. The Better Business Bureau has already been notified about this business entity. THIS IS WORST place I've ever been too! Not only is everyone rude there but I literally walked out crying !! I have had more than 30 MRI and I can't describe this place ! I was having a MRI on the feet/ ankle and the guy LITERALLY tapped my feet together!!! The MRI was only going to be 30 minutes. So after about 20 minutes my feet/ ankle started hurting so bad like the pain is so bad. The guy came over the speaker and said STOP MOVING like literally yelling and I said I'm in pain ! He walks into the room and I say I'm in so much pain !! He LITERALLY just standing there and says you want to reschedule!!! WTF HELL NO!! This place needs to be shut down!! read more
