I've used AKUMIN before and the staff is always great but the appointment process will prevent me from making any other imaging appointments in the future. I read other reviews from over a year ago addressing this same issue - AKUMIN do better!

When I came in I was earlier greeted by the receptionist, when I was finished she thanked me for coming and handed me the CDs for my doctor's and attorney. It's a closed MRI, so you have to be comfortable in closed spaces. They played mellow music on my headphones while the scan was being done, do I took the time to meditate. I had been getting my mammograms at Memorial for years but unfortunately had to find another…read morefacility due them becoming out of network with my health insurance company. Akumin was in-network which was verified with them when I called to make an appointment. I believe this location has Saturday hours once a month. I had to get 5 years' worth of my mammogram records & films which I brought with me and gave to them to upload into their system. When I was checking out, the lady at the desk was very nice and asked if I wanted to wait for them to copy them or come back. I told her that I would come back another day. She told me that she would leave it off to the side and pointed to the area she was talking about. There were a couple of people in the waiting room waiting for their scan. I was called in shortly after arriving. The tech was efficient and I was out of there fairly quick. I got a glass nail file for Breast Cancer Month! I went back today to pick up my film CD and had a totally different experience. When I told them that I was picking up my CD, they told me to sign in and someone would be with me. After sitting for a few minutes, I got up to ask for my CD. The lady at the desk asked my name which I gave and also spelled out my last name. I saw a Manila folder with a CD paper clipped to the outside of it and asked if that was mine. She barely glanced over there and told me that it wasn't and proceeded to tell me that they just went through their old records and that's what was there. She looked in a big expandable folder, pulled out a CD and turned around to give it to me when she realized it wasn't mine. She looked through the rest of the expandable and told me they didn't have it. I asked her again if that Manila folder was mine because it looked like the envelope that I brought it in. She went over to look at it and shook her head no. She asked a coworker if they burned any CD's. That person must have recognized me from my prior appt and asked if I had a mammogram which I told her that I did. The coworker went right to the stack where I had been telling the other one about, picked up the Manila envelope and looked at it, then handed it to the lady who apparently couldn't read. She handed it to me and didn't even bother to apologize. This would have been a 4-star rating if I didn't have the bad experience today.

My follow up appointment was 4/13/26 (literally had to wait 1.5 hours after my appointment to be seen) and she was given and forms at that time. I was supposed to receive a follow up TWICE regarding a missed ENT appt that they were going to help me reschedule directly with the ENT, and they never followed up. Since then i have had to keep pushing back my return to work date; significantly affecting my finances and literally wasting the limited weeks off that my job provides in 1 year. After numerous calls, emails and even getting a supervisor involved, nothing is done and no one is held accountable. It's now 5/4/26 and still nothing. I don't know what to do anymore.

He was fully covered by health insurance. In August, I received a bill for over $1202.00 stating that insurance coverage was denied. I called our health insurance company and resolved the issue, they confirmed that my husband was covered at the time of the service and that Signet Diagnostic Imaging Services was paid. I called Signet's billing department and could not get any satisfaction. They admitted that they had been paid and cashed the check, however they needed a letter from United Health stating they could keep the payment because of the mix up. United Health sent them an updated EOB (explanation of benefits) statement and that was not good enough for Signet's billing department, which is based in India and I could not speak to anyone who wasn't reading from a script or understand any logic. In November, I had an updated EOB sent again and thought that the problem was behind us. I was so wrong! In January, we received a letter from a collections company stating that we owed $1202 and if we did not pay it would affect our credit rating. Since then, I have gone back and forth with health insurance and the collection agency and Signet Diagnostics. United Health has been very helpful in calling, writing letters and documenting all the details with their balance billing department, since it is illegal for Signet or the collection agency to be billing us for amounts that are beyond the agreed upon rate between Signet and United Health. Each time I talk to someone I get a different story. This is the worst experience anyone could ever imagine when insurance is doing the right thing and this company along with their shady collection agency are behaving so horribly.

They offered me headphones with my music of choice and a sleeping mask to cover my eyes. Now it is noisy but nothing unbearable. I relaxed and tried to focus on the music and I was done in now time.
