Arrived 1/2 hour prior to appointment. Young woman sitting at desk filled out my paperwork and she also filled in my initials. After I paid my co-pay, I asked if my credit card info was kept on file. She said, no it wasn't. When my name was called again and I walked into another area a woman asked me if I had blood work done. I hadn't and she told me I could re-schedule or have it done there. Why wasn't I told this a week before? If having Contrast, you need blood work done. I also asked her about the credit card. This woman explained, because I put my initials on the paperwork, that allowed them to keep my credit card on file. So, why did the first woman lie to me and it was illegal for her to put my initials on the paperwork with out asking me. I did ask for the information to be taken off. Very bad billing dept. They made me pay before my proc and said it was my deductible in 2021. Just found out it wasn't towards that and I overpaid. If I didn't call to find out if I satisfied my 2021 deductible I probably would have never gotten that money back. read more

I would give 5 stars for the technicians. I have been to the location several times and the technicians are very pleasant and professional. The front desk could use a little more service- I don't personally mind having to sign in and sit down but I can always tell that the older people in particular really seem to want to TELL a person they are there vs just sign in on a sheet of paper. I deducted stars for the appointment telephone waiting time- it is an eternity but the WORST thing is the loooooong wait for results. Obviously anyone getting a scan is there because they have a reason to want to know what is right/wrong w them. The tech will tell you 3 days for results but it's going to be much longer than that. The lack of speed on getting results is a huge drawback. Just seems the management would realize that people are anxious to know their results and not leave you waiting for much longer than promised. read more

it happened last Monday, I asked someone to go and picked up my reports from a CT scan, at first they did not have it, no confirmation from me was needed, to make the long story short, they provided the information to my friend at the parking lot but they called him by another name then thay gave him two pages of my report with not sealed envelope and without asking him to identify himself. He could read my report then and that caused me to be in trouble. I spoke to HR and they did nothing. read more

I was here today for a MRI. I choose this location because it is close to my home. From the moment I walked in front desk receptionist was very nasty and also had no patience, no hello, welcome nothing. Just took my credit card information. My child is on the spectrum and the MRI technologist had zero patience with him. He was brought back outside and I ask her to try again, and she refused. Horrendous experience. So much wasted time with this place! My mom had an appointment for two MRIs at 7AM beginning of July, confirmed by her primary doctor's office because they arrange her transportation and myself when I made the appointment. She shows up before 7AM and they did not open until 8AM. The lady who opened was not the most cordial at the beginning but explained they had no MRI tech that day and gave us another appointment. Today was her appointment at 9AM and at 7AM they called her to cancel and gave her an appointment at a different location for today at 11AM. She needed 4 hour fasting so at this point she can't even eat. Completely inappropriate and inconsiderate to have an older lady fast that long and let's not say the amount of weeks we have wasted with failed appointments. To be sure, she called back to confirm her appointment and there was no appointment made for her. Their front office and phone personnel need serious training and improvement. They are playing with people's health and precious time. DISGUSTING! Moving on to a different establishment far away from Akumin...Lost cause! read more

I was referred here by my podiatrist. I called initially to schedule and was all set. Simple. Recieved a call from DPI the next day informing me my RX was not received from the podiatrist. As well as my insurance did not verify coverage yet. Called the podiatrist who faxed everything over. Never heard from DPI letting me know it was resolved. 3 days passed without a call from DPI informing me they still didn't receive the RX. I called the morning of the MRI to verify if they recieved it. They said they still didn't. In fact the woman on the phone told me "We didn't receive the RX so we just canceled your appointment". They never informed me of any of this leaving me the impression I had the appointment still. I was able to schedule an appointment the same day just an hour later. So I called the podiatrist to see if they could fax the RX over. The podiatrist said they would. I arrived at DPI for my appointment. The woman I spoke with on the phone called me back and informed me they still didn't receive the RX. Completely baffled, as DPI still didn't call me during the day to let me know they didn't receive the RX. This is knowing there was an issue with the RX being recieved. She then informed me the MRI would be $280 due to no verification of coverage from my insurance. I called the podiatrist who said they did fax the RX. But would send it for the 3-4th time. I verified the fax number & even asked if the woman at DPI would talk to my podiatrist office. Her pleasant response was "I don't need to talk to them" naturally while making a less than helpful facial expression. I simply walked out of DPI. It is not my job or responsibility to do medical office clerical work. Mainly because I have no idea what I am doing. I don't work in the medical field. The staff at DPI are very unprofessional, lack the ability to explain anything or be courteous. I work with people daily & have to communicate. As a point, I never raised my voice. Was discourteous or hostile to any of the employees at DPI. Get a referral to a different imaging center. Don't waist your time there. read more

I was trying to confirm an appointment for March 3rd. I waited on the phone for 30 minutes rather than get a call back in 24 - 36 hours. That would be too late. After 30 minutes a recording came on and the person who spoke (sounded like an African accent) spoke like a machine gun it was so fast I could not understand what was being said. The message then hung up referring me back to the main number so I was in a continuous loop! Finally a phone message came through confirming my appointment. But it was too late to confirm my transportatiion Why should I have to wait a half an hour to be hung up on just to give these people business! read more

My husband had an acute back pain. He was scheduled at 7pm for an MRI. We arrived at 6:45. He entered for the MRI almost an hour later.

DONT DO IT. DONT BOOK HERE. I spoke with someone over the phone and they scheduled me for an 8:45 appointment which I fasted 6 hours for and put my time in for work. 2 hours I ended up missing of work because they said it was at 8:30. Mind you I received no confirmation phone call NOR email. They are HORRIBLE at confirming appointments and helping their patients out. I was supposed to have a simple ultrasound and X ray which the guy said would take a total of 40 minutes and now I have to wait 2 more weeks and a half because every location is only booked for "male patients". DO NOT GO TO COCONUT CREEK AKUMIN, THEY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT YOUR NEEDS AND DONT MAKE AN OUNCE OF EFFORT TO ACCOMDATE YOU AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Very unprofessional . read more

If the office is like the schedulers, run. Waited 20 minutes to give them my business only to be met with a rude woman who had attitude and barely spoke English. I couldn't communicate with her so I told her I wasn't interested and hung up. Later I gave them the benefit of the doubt and called another number thinking this was just one bad employee again I waited 10 minutes to be greeted by another women who spoke English but was very rude to the point that I just hung up. I can see why the yelp score is so poor. As a medical professional it is a shame to see how the patient is unable to receive their tests in a timely manner. Today I am on the patient side of medicine. The office staff simply do not care have. Between using their cell phones at the desk, asking me to call my drs office to correct a mistake on the prescription for my procedure. Simply not understanding that fasting patients can't wait until 2 pm when they have hypoglycemia as an underlying condition. I can see why Emergency rooms are so full with non emergency patients. Nothing is done efficiently and if the patient has no medical background they will be shuffled along with the herd. With so many imaging places in South Florida I recommend going somewhere else. read more

Desk check in is a little cumbersome, but certainly within the realm of typical for a busy medical office. I always have a good experience at this office; scheduling is quick, in my recent visit it was the same day. I was able to preregister online at home which allowed me to check in and have my X-Ray done fast. The staff was super nice and the Technician was great. Ready for this latest episode? Around Dec.16th,2018 My Dr. sent a referal for my MRI. I waited a day and called DPI.. NO Referal,they said call back Tomorrow... ok...i called back the next day.. still NO referal and i am in agony with lumbar disc pain and need a cane to even walk. Finally I Called my Dr. and they said i should come in and pick up the referal in person and hand deliver it so they couldn't claim they don't have it. In all my pain, I went back to My. I was finally called to the desk and the Girl didn't seem to care about ALL my troubles concerning the referal. She said it was ALL GOOD to go and Handed me back the referal paper and a DPI Appointment card paper clipped together. She ASSURED ME i only needed to show up at 9:45 AM on Jan.7th,2019 with the PAPERS SHE'D JUST HANDED ME,and pay my co-pay. She even told me how long the procedure would take. Sounds ok now huh?? NOT SO FAST!!!!! On Friday night,some INCOMPETENT person from DPI Left a voice message on my home phone (I asked to be called on my cell in case they needed to reach me).... the Voice mail said..(WAIT FOR IT....).... Your appointment for Monday,January 7th,2019 has been CANCELLED..... BECAUSE... "WE HAVE NO REFERAL FROM YOUR DR.) !!!!!!!!!! REALLY??????? I WAS SOOOOO PISSED!!!!!!! I Called first thing the next morning and finally got someone to answer the phone and went through the WHOLE story AGAIN.. They went into their system and of course ALL of my paperwork was 100% Complete!!! There was absolutely NO REASON for my appointment to be cancelled!!!
