She did an amazing job on my daughter's hair. Box braids, cornrows, and weaves all turned out great.

I was in town attending my fathers funeral and was fortunate to get an appointment with Sally, who…read moreused to cut my dads hair! When I entered the salon, I was greeted warmly and then saw one of my dads big paintings on the wall behind the reception desk! What a wonderful surprise! Sally gave me excellent advise on how to manage some issues I have with my scalp and hair, gave me a great cut and really listened to what I wanted done. She even stuck a few samples in my bag to try out later! The salon is very clean, beautifully decorated and the whole staff was really friendly. If I lived there, I'd definitely be a regular! Thank you again to Sally for making a very difficult time a little less stressful for me, knowing that at least I didn't need to worry about my hair.

Love this place... Amazing staff good service. Nice, clean and quiet. Everything you could want…read morefor a hair salon is here!!! I went to fox and hounds and I was not impressed AT ALL. I wanted my hair colored but after my bad haircut and bad service I didn't want to go back so I found First edition. Jenna did my color. It was AWESOME. I decided to bring my 2 and 4 year old for a trim and Jackie did a phenomenal job. I've never seen my boys sit so still and let their hair cut be done with no fuss!!! I highly recommend them. I recommend them so much I brought my mother in law for a hair color and cut with Jenna and it turned out so good!!! And I brought my lovely but grouchy 91 year old grandma and my mother for a style and cut with Jackie... also so good!! I am very happy with this place!!

So, I needed a haircut as I was a god damned hippy. After several months, I finally decided to get…read morethe top cut off. I had been having Jen widen it as it was too narrow before, and now it's all one length, which is nice. Got in, got cut, got out. Went to the house to go shower and get all the little hairs off, and for the first time in months, put some product in my hair. So, I needed to stop and get some smokes for outside things, and I stop at the gas station right across the street. The girls working say something to the effect of "I love your hair, my son would love to have a cut like that". So, I reply "thanks, I just got it cut", and they are like "ohhh, fresh!" and I say, "yep, right across the street" and point to your place. Then they discuss wanting to go watch duck dynasty... for some reason.

I'm the sort of person that typically goes to a discount chain hair salon for his haircut: Borics,…read moreSupercuts, cost cutters, etc. I decided to give this local shop a try this time, and I'm not disappointed. The stylists that own and operate this place used to work at the Boric's in Urbana (next to the county market), and they are pretty good at what they do. I was surprised to see them in this place, since I knew they are both good at what they do. The difference, of course, is that here they don't have to pay the franchise fee, which could be as high as 60%! The result was that my stylist (Jenny, which I highly recommend her work) took her time and paid lots of attention to what she was doing to my hair, while I always felt rushed when going to Borics, super cuts, etc. with lots of machine cutting. They make a point to keep their prices the same as national chains, so an adult haircut is $13, which is very reasonable. They run coupons in local magazines and ads, and Jenny told me that they would even accept competitor coupons as long as it brings them business. One small point: It's better if you call and make an appointment. You can walk in of-course, but they give preference to people with appointments. I'll call in next time before I go there.
