Great food. Great service. Great ambiance. Highly recommended! The lamb dishes and the vindaloo were big hits with my family.

The main partner in this three month old enterprise is the effervescent Emillio/Amillio who has…read moreextensive experience from establishments in Hull, Scarborough and Newcastle. On the day I visited the place was having its major launch having just obtained its' full licence enabling it to stay open until 3 am. By day it serves as a cafe serving the usual suspects and good Lavazza espresso. The evening menu is mostly Pizza (11types) and Pasta (8 types). There are however Gammon, steak, burger, pie and yks pudding with sausage specials - see photo. I had Penne Arrabbiata and my friend Linguine Carbonara. The pasta was well cooked remaining al dente. My Arrabbiata was nice and hot enough but not too hot and should please most palates. The Carbonara had bacon in it instead of pancetta or smoked ham. It also had no parmesan in it but it was easy enough to add your own. There was also no black pepper stirred through it and this too had to be added. Although nice in no way was it a traditional Carbonara. We also had a Pizza garlic with tomato. It was tasty enough but too much sauce made the base soggy. All pizza and pasta priced as £4.20. Wine list is very limited with the cheapest being under £10. Also here is a crepe machine (see picture)and this proved popular with the children in the restaurant. The decor is nice, modern wooden floors and nice furniture. There is a waiting area but this had been taken over as a kids play area. Staff very nice and pleasant. Overall appearance is clean, tidy and organised. I would not travel all the way to Beverley just to visit this place. There are some excellent restaurants in the locality. However if I was on a day visit and fancied something quick and cheap to eat I certainly would call here. Once the restaurant closes and the bar remains open I will be interested what impression this place makes on the local bar scene

The food was incredible. My steak was cooked perfectly and the scallops for a starter were wonderful. What a great year for us on our last night in Beverley (although our friends come regularly). Highly recommend.

However when we were shown to our table it was opposite the toilets and there was an awful toilet/drain smell. Eventually we became 'nose blind' to this but it is certainly not what I would expect from a place like this. I would also point out that there is no door to seperate the toilets, and from where I sat I could see into the toilets every time the door was opened to either cubicle. I ordered another cocktail and the bar and my husband ordered a beer, he was presented with his immediately, I was told that my cocktail would have to be made at the bar upstairs. I then waited between 20-30 minutes for it to arrive. The food itself was delicious however I am not sure that even this would lure me back. I was contact directly by the Westwood the following week by email and they advised that they would look into the issues I had, needless to say, I have received no response after that. Definitely a memorable dining experience but not for the right reasons.
