Great food! Friendly staff and fast service We order pizza once a week and the whole family enjoys it. Keep making the great food! read more

The food and atmosphere are great. It's a casual sports bar. The staff is very friendly. They have a full bar and a nice selection of craft brews. The wings and pizza were very average. I had mango habanero and they were way too sweet. The wings had a texture similar to frozen wings which I don't care for, kind of rubbery. The pizza tasted like delivery quality. Tons of cheese, fairly flavorless toppings, bland crust and sauce was too sweet. I hate to be too picky because I really wanted to like this place. I I will give it another shot when I'm back in town. read more

Pizza is good but they aren't very organized. I called at 4 pm to have a pizza and breadsticks ready at 5:45. This doesn't seem like a difficult request. I don't get my food until 6 read more

We ordered many orders of pizza for pick up here and finally were able to go in and eat inside the restaurant! The weekends are too busy and the wait is usually one hour or more. The food is good and the service is good as well. We did different orders instead of pizza. We ordered hot sandwiches and they were really good. Good ambiance but is loud inside. There was no wait on a Monday evening and we were seated right away! read more

We got a carryout order of a large house pizza without the bell peppers and an order of fried pickles. The order was called in and we were given an hour wait time. We probably should have left around 45 min. The pickles were starting to get cold. I could tell they had all the makings of a great friend pickle if they were hot. The pizza was pretty tasty. There was plenty of cheese! I love a cheesy pizza so I was happy. I would have liked just a little more pepperoni. Oh and it was a good reheat in the air fryer. The service was good, we were greeted as soon as we walked in. The young lady behind the counter took care of everything with a friendly attitude. I would come back next time Im in town visiting read more

Horrible! We were staying out of town at the Hilton. Wanted to get a pizza for us and our teen kids. This young girl, refused to serve us because she said we looked like we've been drinking. WTH does that matter. Staying at the Hilton and walked over. Kids wanted pizza. So ridiculous. No one should go here. The child running the place is a read more

We were hesitant to try this restaurant at first based on the other reviews, but since it was just across the street from our hotel, we decided to give it a chance. I'm glad we did because: 1. We had mac n cheese, two salads, and two pizzas--they were all very delicious. 2. This place was very kid-friendly. 3. The entire staff was extremely nice. 4. Our server, Alexandra (?), was on point. 5. Everything was very affordable! Highly recommend this place, especially for families with children. read more

We moved to the Chesterton area this summer and AJ's quickly became our family's favorite pizza joint. There hasn't been anything we've order we didn't like. Most recently we tried out their November pizza of the month: The Gobbler. Whoah! This thing was an entire Thanksgiving meal on a pizza. It was definitely different, but it was amazing! Our kids always stick to the basic cheese pizza, but it's their favorite in Chesterton. read more

Called to complain about our order, as usual can't get thru on the phones so ended up the next day calling. Manager told us it was unfortunate that we didn't call the same night or didn't take pictures. Didn't offer any kind of gesture. We have been going to AJs for years! Birthdays, parties in general, even a Baby Shower! Would have been nice to make it right some how. We waited for almost 2 hours, pizza was not hot, and mozzarella sticks were burnt and cold! read more

this establishment does visitors to Indiana well. The service I've received in this place is beyond normal. They actually care about you as a visitor or as a norm. I came in 20 years experience in Italian restaurants serving pizza. I will gladly give it 7 stars for their options and the way they serve it. I sat at bar area though did not drink and was so warmly received I find it hard to believe. Highly recommend within 10 miles of this place. read more

There are a few solid pizza places in Chesterton, and this one is one of my top two, to be sure. The staff is friendly, the service is pretty fast, the menu is fairly broad, and the pizza is amazing. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from a Pizza / Sports Bar kind of place, and this is a great place to catch a hockey game with some friends. I've been here several times and I always feel like it's a great spot to eat every time I'm there. read more

I am in Indiana to see my husband and last night we went to have dinner at this pizza shop. I must say it was not my favorite. We ordered a pitcher of beer, two appetizers (mozzarella sticks and bread twists) and a medium size pepperoni thick crust pizza. The pitcher of beer was a bit flat. The appetizers were yummy. The mozzarella sticks and bread sticks were freshly made. The pizza was not my favorite or the best because it tasted very similar to a frozen pizza. It was not freshly made. My husband and I even lifted the pizza off the ridged pizza pan that was given to us and we can tell the ridges didn't match so it didn't look like it was baked freshly. There were also so many large black flies flying around our table on top of that and one landed in my water. My husband and I are very modest people and we are not snobs. We love pizza and it's our go to meal always since it's hard to butcher pizza but this restaurant was not the best. I do not recommend this place. read more

Eat here basically because it's convenient , food is so-so, can't do it anymore after a coarse black hair in my wings! Yuck! Eat at your own risk! This is the 3rd time I've had this happen to me, it will be the last. read more

First time here, excellent service and food. Got the Italian Beef pizza, thin crust cheese and sausage, and fried pickles. Everything served fresh and hot. It was also all delicious. Husband and I couldn't pick which was our favorite. Waitress was exemplary and others on staff also help to make sure we had everything we needed. Will absolutely be back. I'd post photos but we devoured it all. read more

Stopped in after a baseball game. Met up with some family. Super busy place. We were seated right away. Ordered a sangria and ended up with a mimosa ‍ I was hangry and tired so I never mentioned it to the server. She was super busy, I'm sure, with being short staffed like everybody else! Crazyness. Ordered the philly steak. Won't do that again. My fries were better. Mom and sis in law ordered a pizza. Which is what I should've done. It IS a pizza joint. Anyhoo... that's about it. read more

Terrible service. Waited 20 minutes for a waitress to come out. 40 min for food to come out after, 2 sandwiches, Mac and cheese and a salad. Probably close to 25 people I see walk in and out that got their food. Made a reservation for 6:30 got our drinks taken at 7 and food came out at 7:40 pm. Unacceptable. Told they don't have wings to order. Would have been nice to know that after you took 20 min to come get our drink order, so that I could have planned to order something different. No, just had to settle with a pesto chicken sandwich. Didn't eat it and won't be back to dine in and will be sure to communicate this type of lazy service to the community. I live out of town and always look forward to a pizza at AJ's. Not no more. Order the 10" meat lovers pizza and it way as good as a gas station pizza. AJ's always had their own unique flavor. This time the unique flavor way old sausage, cheep cheese and no sauce. After many of years of going to AJ's for pizza, not again. Might as well save money and get a gas station pizza. read more

Been eating at AJ's for 30+ years. Amazing food, staff is awesome, and it's a great place to sit down and have a meal.

My family and I stopped here on a Saturday night around 8. The place wasn't very busy and we were seated right away. We ordered the pizza of the month "the wurst". Sizes and prices weren't listed anywhere for it, so it was a surprise. It was $16.85 for a medium. We also got a ham and cheese sandwich with fries. It to a but for the food to come out considering they weren't very busy. It finally came out. The pizza was good. The ham and cheese left something to be desired. The ham is entirely too salty paired with that cheese and bread. After a couple bites it felt as if you'd just eaten the ocean floor. The fries were delicious though. Overall good, tweak the sandwich though. The service left something to be desired. As I said, they weren't too busy, but we never got refills on our drinks, and we were never asked if the food tasted ok. Another server came and took some dishes, and our server came by and took dishes but didn't ask if we needed anything or Joe the food was. The next time he can't by was to tell me he was bringing the check. Overall just awkward and left me thirsty..... In more ways than one. We probably won't be back as we don't live in the area, however, I'd recommend it to someone if they want a tasty pizza. read more

We went there to taste test several different menu items. We had a small sausage and pepperoni pizza, roast beef sandwich, ham and cheese sandwich, salad with chicken and other various items on it and their home made potato chips. The pizza was just ok. The roast beef was dry dry dry. The au jus was passing. You had to dip your sandwich in there for every bite. The ham and cheese was ok. The salad was actually pretty good. The home made chips were not served with any kind of dip, I asked if they could put blue cheese on them after they fried them. They said no. They were way over cooked but the oil was not hot enough because they were soggy. The crust on the pizza was pretty good the sauce was too sweet. Like I said the pizza was ok. read more

I was on a long drive back from MI to IL and pulled off the highway to grab lunch. AJ's is right there off exit 31 (Chesterton/Valpo), easy on and off the highway. The food was excellent. Super fresh and delicious. I highly recommend this place for a great meal. I had the Stromboli sandwich and Caprese Salad which were both the best I've ever had. read more

I ate there 4 times in 2 weeks. Have the thin crust, pizza twice, a salad and the beef garlic sandwich. The sandwich was to die for.

In the area for a wedding. We stopped by after a hectic Sunday. Service was good as the place was busy. Wife and me split the arugula burrata salad and a garlic parm steak sandwich. Ashley was amazing! She handled everything perfectly and corrected mistakes before i noticed. She is running the show!

We've gotten take out pizza 3 times and each time the pizza has been mediocre to bad. One time the entire pizza slid to one side, and one time the crust was burnt. When I called back about these issues, service was rude and dismissive. Not impressed. read more

Love their pizza and their sandwiches are delicious. We would order every Saturday for our DnD games when we could play.

Called to order for delivery and was denied. They deliver as far as South Haven (which I confirmed by having a pizza delivered to friends on Heritage Rd) but they will not deliver on McCool. I assume this means their cut off radius is 700 N... I could have had them meet me at the fire station but I'm not paying a delivery fee if I have to drive. I'll order from JJ's instead Just a tip for the owner. If you're going to keep South Haven in your delivery area, you should deliver to ALL of South Haven. My address is less than a mile away from my friends. You missed out on a $60 order and good tip for your driver. read more

Got a small thin crust pizza and twists from carry out. Really good! Service was prompt and friendly as well.

The service here lately is definitely going downhill. Food takes a very long time to arrive, and at times it is hard to find a server if you need a refill of a drink or anything else. It would make sense if the server gave you the bill when food is ready so that you don't have to waste time trying to track them down when finished with your meal. The food is pretty good but is it worth the wait? Best to order takeout, in my opinion. read more

It's our favorite place to dine. Ashley is an awesome Server, the food is great and prices are reasonable.

Food is great. Good atmosphere. BUT apparently if you know someone you don't have to wait half an hour to get a seat you go in front of everyone and get seated. Fortunately!! Sabrina was an amazing server and the food was as usual delicious. Sabrina saves the day. Until the next time I'm up North. read more

The pizza is my favorite. It has good tasting sauce. Thin crust is what I like. I haven't tried any other crusts. The toppings are fresh. The Italian sausage is obviously from a a sausage link which is good. They put a nice heaping portion of cheese. I've went in to pick up pizza and had them delivered. I can't review the restaurant ambience. The service is good. They listen well so you don't have to keep repeating your order. They give realistic time estimates on delivery. The quickest I have got a a pizza delivered was 1 hour, but that is what they told me it would be. The good thing is that the pizza was hit when I got it, so they are not taking a multi order and letting the pizza cool read more

I've been here maybe three times in the year of 2021, and two of the three visits I have found hair baked INTO the crust. Not in the sauce or toppings but baked into the crust. Last time I called and got half the money refunded, I wasn't mad, it happens, but for it to happen two of three times to me in a years span? I must be the luckiest (or they just don't wear hats or hairnets when making dough). Needless to say I will never come back. read more
