We contracted with the junkluggers to clean out my mom's apartment on Wednesday June 24th. On June…read more18th, I had emailed Junkluggers the certificate of insurance that my mother's building required. On June 23rd at 9AM, I called to see if the COI was ready to be sent to the building and I was told it was not done yet. I called at noon and at 3:00 and every time was told the same thing, it was being worked on. Then at 4:00 I was told the Internet was down and the COI would not be sent until the following morning which was the day of the appointment. I reminded them that if the building did not get the COI, the appointment would have to be canceled. Thankfully the district manager was able to email the COI to me at 5:00 which I then forwarded to the building management. When we had made our appointment, we were told we'd be getting four workers and two trucks to clean out the apartment, instead one truck and two men showed up. The men who showed up did a good job but once the truck was filled, they had to leave. My mother's apartment building did not allow furniture removal after 4PM and we were told the company had no idea when the second truck would arrive. We were advised to reschedule and have the second truck come Friday morning. We were told we would be first on the schedule for Friday, but the truck did not arrive at my mom's apartment until almost 11 o'clock. The two men on the second truck had a lot of problems figuring out how to remove the remaining furniture from the apartment and had to be told several times to take out all the remaining furniture and bags. Pro: They honored the estimate even though our final load was slightly more than estimated Con: The COI should had been completed earlier and not delayed until right before the appointment. When you contract for four men with two trucks, that is who should show up for the job. We should not be inconvenience to have to come back a second day.

Plus the…read morethought of hiring a junk removal company was tops to put an old futon and mattress we've been 'saving' for the last 15 years out of its misery. Calling and booking our 1-800-Got Junk? appointment was easy and planned it just in time when we got back down from our vacation for a Saturday. Hubs received a confirmation call the day prior to finalize questions we had. In terms of cost, the person on the other end is unable to provide any pricing since every job is different and Got Junk? needs to factor in stairs (in our case), driveway, etc then items are charged on the day of removal. The only thing we did was let the 2 guys know they can access the attic from our garage and left it up to them to do the rest. They were efficient and handled the clunky Queen-sized futon frame and mattress in no time. Between going up and down the attic stairs and getting rid of our old futon set, that would've been an easy $159- but we had other bulkier items to get rid of also so jumped on it for a small additional fee. Calling these folks was the only way to get rid of unwanted stuff. Plus having an unsightly curb by setting these things outside, wasn't going to cut it for me.
