I've ordered several items this way from Vance's at the Hebron store and was always greeted by the CS person at the counter and taken right back to pick up my items. Upon arrival at the Cleveland Ave store, I informed the front desk I had an order ready for pickup and the lady referred me to Gayle, who is the IOP rep and should be familiar with the process. I informed Gayle I had an order ready for pickup and also had an appointment time scheduled. She told me to take a number. I kindly informed her again that I had an appointment time confirmed. She rudely said, "That's nice, but you need to take a number"and then proceeded to grab a number at the gun counter for me. She handed it to me and stormed off. After waiting about 20 min for my number to be called, Courteny called my number. While doing my paperwork, I asked her what the process was for order pickup with a confirmed appt time. She kindly informed me the front counter should have given me a buzzer and a light at the gun counter would flash and the buzzer would go off when my item was ready. I told her of the ordeal I had with Gayle and she again informed that is NOT the process for pickup in my situation. Courteny was a so kind and knowledgeable. If not for Courteny saving the day, I would have left zero stars for the way I was treated by Gayle.

I was greeted and asked what I was looking for. I replied that I needed tennis shoes. The associate said, "great! They are 40% off right now" and directed me to a rack of shoes. I picked out a pair of Nikes that they had in my size and fit. Note that the associate was entirely unhelpful in asking additional questions or ensuring the fit- however to the non-professional that I am, they appeared to fit. Upon walking 2 miles in them, my feet hurt badly. The outside of my right foot was falling asleep. These weren't the right shoes for me. I promptly called the store to ask their return policy, which it turns out is store credit only, however not applicable on the shoes I purchased since they were on sale. This was not mentioned upon purchase. Looking on Nike's page, I couldn't find the shoes which is disconcerting. However, on other websites I found that they were actually classic basketball shoes- not tennis shoes as I had explicitly asked for. Additionally the sales associate assumed that I was motivated solely by price in directing me only to the sales shoes. I am not a price driven consumer and I would have gladly spent in excess of $100 on shoes, yet these were the ones I was directed to. Stay away from this store. Exceedingly poor service, terrible return policy.

This weekend they are offing 20% off everything. The staff was very friendly and more than happy to answer our questions. The place was packed with people wanting to make their purchases. The store was very organized and well stocked. We were told by an employee that if the store didn't have the right size in stock they would order it for you and also give the 20% this weekend.

Even when my wife was an employee at a competing outdoor retailer (where I got a discount) I was still shopping online at STP. When I found out they were building a brick and mortar store here in Columbus I was beyond thrilled! As it is part of the TJX companies it still means that the store is a gamble when it comes to brands and sizes found. However, it makes a great starting point as you can easily search their site to see if there are other sizes, colors, etc available. Don't have a tiny pocket computer (aka a smart phone)? There's no need to fret! In store they even have a kiosk where you can search their online stock. My only real dislike of the physical store is that as of right now they do not accept the countless coupons that come to my email address. This may change soon as an employee recently told me that they would start honoring them. Until then, I will still order the bulk of my purchases from the website so I can use the frequent STP coupons. With the store so close it's super easy to return to the store with no hassle. This is extremely helpful when ordering shoes online as some outdoor brands use variations of European sizing that allow for greater fit specification. Recently I ordered two pairs of a boot to see if they would work for my job. Having a low volume super narrow foot they did not but, with the painless returns it was no problem. I even lucked out and found the perfect pair in store!
