I showed up 15 minutes early, only to be told my appointment wasn't until 1:00. !? The girl says, "Well it doesn't really matter. He's running so far behind that he can't see you until tomorrow morning anyway." I was stunned. wtf. I canceled the appt and walked to the elevator. While waiting for the elevator I decided to go back in there. I politely told the girl, "Look, I'm not a Karen but what y'all did to me was really shi**y. Really shi**y." She just shrugged. I counted NINETEEN people in the waiting room, most of whom -- after waiting for hours -- probably will not get seen today. And probably a couple dozen more on their way there from god knows where (people drive from all over south & central Texas for appts). And the office isn't telling anybody anything. No heads up. No courtesy call. Nothin'. I've been a patient here for years. I see several of the doctors. They are top notch. The corporate/office management... not so much.

From scheduling the first appointment to the surgery to the post-op care, I cannot say enough about how the great the care is / was. Calling or emailing with questions, insurance needs etc. they have always had time for me and providing help / assistance. For my situation I had loss of range of motion occurring / progressing for a long time and did not know what was the cause. Then a light switch turned and my condition degraded into bone on bone pain from hip arthritis. I then went to a local "specialist" in Corpus Christi as I live hear there. After I determined that I did not want to have surgery in Corpus Christi, I waited 3 years after the bone on bone condition started, dreading what I thought the surgery and the recovery would be. When I finally had enough, I did research on the best specialist I could find, the most experienced, the best reviews, searching in Houston and San Antonio as we live in South Texas, and I chose and I am grateful I found Dr. Broome & San Antonio Orthopaedic Specialists. I chose the Tissue sparing method of hip replacement, Anterior hip replacement. I was concerned as everyone I expect would be about pain and recovery. I expected bone pain just because of thinking what would occur during the surgery. For me, there was no "bone pain" with the surgery, as they told me there usually is not. With me waiting 3 years, my hip ball degraded & wore down about 3/4", this also affected my back. For my surgery this required stretching the muscles to allow making the new hip be the same length as the non arthritic hip. This was the only pain I experienced, muscle pain. All aspects of the hip replacement, scheduling, appointments, pre-op, surgery and post op have been great, beyond what I ever could have expected. Also the Doctor's owned Hospital, where I had my surgery, South Texas Spine and Surgical Hospital is Great, and that will be in another review. Doctor Broome has an app for recovery therapy or I can go to regular therapy. The app is what I used. Daily exercises that change regimen each progressing week and this is getting my range of motion back. Before surgery, I had a tough time of reaching my right foot, putting on shoes and socks, bathing, etc., putting on pants, picking up things off of the floor, carrying things that were heavy, kneeling down, standing, walking, when walking and my arm position, crossing my leg, the arthritic hip affecting my back and many other things. The surgery has allowed me to tie my shoes, carry things that are heavy (I am progressing on this with exercises) , cross my legs, reach my feet, even just sitting down in my recliner at home by not having to straighten my right leg and basically fall back into my chair and so many more things be able to do that I have not been able to do for more than 3 years. I will say, I could not have made a better choice than Doctor Broome and San Antonio Orthopaedic Specialists and his staff. If you are waiting for the surgery, or searching for the Right Doctor, Look no further as they are the Best in my opinion. I currently am in 1 month post op and improving daily.

I was referred to this clinic by my primary doctor…read more Booking: Getting an appointment is super easy and they are friendly over the phone. I thought it was odd the appointments are 15 minute time slots, but I moved forward. I asked how much it would cost since my deductible is very high, they said they don't know until I show up for the appointment. I thought that was odd. Online system: The appointment showed up in my portal. I was able to easily fill out all the necessary paperwork online. Doctor office: It has ample parking. It is easy to find in the building. The front staff are friendly, clueless because again I asked how much, they had no idea. Doctor: The doctor was running late, but used to that. I was willing to wait since I wanted to know what was wrong. I had a CD of my MRI ready. The doctor came in said don't need the MRI, I got the report. He said I need surgery and poked the problem stop and asked it that hurt. Since it did that was enough to confirm I needed surgery. Okay, I am not a doctor, he is and probably sees these all the time. I had notes written and I looked down to refer to the list of questions, I took notes, and then caught the doctor staring at his watch. He had an emergency surgery scheduled later in the day and he was irritated by my questions. After 10 minutes, he matter of fact gave me my options and said book another appointment if I have follow up questions. In a bit of shock, I agreed and left. Notes: a few days later I got a notice that my doctor notes were in the portal, I looked at the notes and doctor was clearly not paying attention because he got the months wrong, I said May and the notes showed March. Bill: My bill was over $300 for less than 15 minutes visit! They charged my insurance a 45 minute appointment. They charged me for waiting on the doctor! When I called the billing department to ask why the bill was so high, they said the 45 minutes is not only for the doctor but for the back end staff. I explained that is not right when I have to pay a high deductible for insurance. After this bill and the doctor being bothered by my presence and did not look at my body part other than poke where the problem area is, I will not go back to this clinic or recommend it to anyone. Save your money and go somewhere else. I did and got better service at a better rate.

Dr. John Chance and PA Ashley are great providers, they get 5 stars. They listen and do thorough physical exams. They were able to order a STAT MRI for my groin pain and contact insurance about authorization while I was in the office for my appointment. But that is the only great thing about this office. Their administration, billing and phone triage could use much work as there is nothing personalized about their service. 1. I was told my PT would be $50 for each visit but then I get a bill for almost $200 in additional charges. I spoke to Donna, practice administrator, in the office and told she would look into it. 1 month later and no follow up, even after I called a second time. I refuse to pay for services that they can not justify for charging. 2. When it comes to getting an urgent appointment, forget about it because that is "not their policy." I first tried to get an appointment for follow up once I completed my MRI but until they got the results in hand, I would not be scheduled. So I went 6 days with no verbal results on my MRI until the PA called me back. While she was out of town, no one else bothered to let me know my results and that I should be on crutches. Then, when I call to schedule a Same Day Appointment, due to having increased pain, they only do that if there is a fracture present. Well there is and still no appointment given. I understand there are policies in place for a reason. However, when your business is to treat patients, sometimes policies have to be moved navigated a different way.

My four sessions were done in a span of only two weeks which was less time than my primary care physician would have even been able to get me in just for an appointment to then refer to a podiatry specialist- that route probably would have been months longer and a lot more costly. Not only does Airrosti do the hands on treatment but also teaches you KT taping techniques and long term stretches to help reoccurrence. Overall I was satisfied with the care this location provided. Prompt appointments, friendly staff that really seemed to care about my recovery and ended up being way more cost effective than the traditional route of pcp/specialty referral. Airrosti did not disappoint. As a matter of fact, Dr Burns and Jason did more for me in my first visit, than anyone did in the past 5 years. They took the time to listen to me and formulate a plan. Dr Burns did the manipulation and Jason helped me with exercises....all planned perfectly to relieve me of pain. What reinforced it for me was when they told me that they wanted to fix me, not adopt me. In other words, they're not looking to milk me for money....rather they genuinely wanted to fix me. It took me 3 visits to be on the road to full recovery. As long as I keep up the exercises, I should be good. They have a app that has videos of how the exercises should be done. Highly recommend Airrosti and specifically this office if you need pain relief.

It had been like this for 3 weeks & anti-inflammatory meds & icing weren't helping. I arrived 20 minutes early and had pre-filled my Patient Forms online earlier. The MA, Amanda called me in about 10 minutes before my appt, took a Q&A of my symptoms & told me I'd get an Xray first; The Xray tech escorted me to the back & took some Xrays & I went back to the exam room. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Alexandra Matthews came in & recognized me as I saw her in 2018 for knee pain & treatment. I told her my symptoms & she checked my elbow & confirmed that I had "Tennis Elbow." She suggested a Steroid injection to give relief within 24-48 hours. While she was injecting me she was telling me to think about my upcoming vacation & what I was looking forward to so I wouldn't focus on the stinging feeling. She had given me injections on my knee before so I had an idea. Dr. Matthews was pleasant & had a nice demeanor as in 2018 so I was pleased with that. She even commented on how detailed my answers were on the Patient Forms & she was so happy for that! She wanted me to get PT & a followup appt so next up was Dr. Brandon, the PT. Brandon came in to talk to me about my issue, showed me on a Human Body Muscular diagram what area is affected, why & how they'll approach therapy & modalities. I asked him a few questions & he was very thorough & easy to understand. Afterwards, I set up my appointments on 2 parts of the checkout counter. Upon entering the office the first time, we were immediately greeted by the folks at the front desk. Us being new, they helped us get all the paperwork completed and helped us get ready for PT. Then, very quickly. one of the PT's came out to get my wife and take her back. Although signage indicates that no one except the patient is allowed in back, they invited me back with her. My wife met all the guys who would be working on her (about 5 different PT's worked on her). This was a different experience than I have had at other places (1 PT did all the treatments). She liked all of them (maybe because they were all young and buff), and they all took great care of her. She has not finished her treatments yet, but she is already much better. Will I return? Definitely if/when I need that type of service.
