With the latest medical procedure performed, I was able to walk myself out of the clinic immediately after the surgery! It was an amazing experience. Dr. Oliver Shipper and his staff are the BEST!!! The office staff was accommodating and helpful on every visit. They ensure to preparing me for the pre, day of, and post-surgery were taken care of. Very patient-focused and extremely helpful. Dr. Shipper took the time to explain to me what was being done, how it was being done, and what I should expect. The post-surgery care and attention were like nothing else I have ever experienced. Ivy was the only place that would guarantee the availability of short-term daily PT as requested by my surgeon (and covered by insurance). I was extremely fortunate to have treatment by Gregory B., who provided skilled, patient, effective care (no handing off to exercise technicians). He paid attention, answered questions thoroughly, made suggestions for different approaches, and was very kind and patient. The staff are diligent about cleaning surfaces, and the receptionists are excellent at handling appointments and other requests. There is plenty of parking, which is comped by Ivy. In addition to "routine" PT, the practice also offers other helpful treatment, such as dry needling - which helped me almost immediately - and for Meniere disease (vertigo). The vibe is excellent, not too crowded nor too loud and everyone is friendly and helpful.

On the first checkup they checked things like my flexibility and overall strength as well as hearing what I had been experiencing. Her treatment began with an interview that ranged from questions regarding the location, nature, and possible causes of the pain to a review of my daily habits and routine. She then asked me to move my arms in various ways and directions and to report when and where I felt pain. There followed a demonstration, using a physical model of the shoulder, of how the shoulder skeleton and muscles work, pointing out where the problem most probably originated and how it would most likely affect the muscles and nerves in my arms. Subsequently and over the course of several weeks with two appointments per week, she introduced a series of exercises and adjustments to my routine (with how-to print-outs of each) that have made a significant difference in how I feel and can move. I was particularly impressed by the fact that, although she has a long roster of patients, at every appointment she remembered the particulars of my specific condition, which resulted in a very personalized (not a one-size-fits-all) regimen. As an 80-year-old, my regular schedule of lap swimming is critical to my mobility, stability, and general physical (and mental!) well-being, and Lindsay has helped me optimize all those. Their online scheduling form, following submission literally says, "If you do not hear from us within 48 hours, please contact us by phone at...". Meaning, they KNOW that they are not going to respond to you and want to make sure to keep the frustration ball in your court! Even if you're understaffed, just have a SYSTEM in place to respond to patients; it's not that hard.
