Anyone tried replacing a car key lately? Omg, the days of looking up a physical place and going…read morethere and getting a key are almost kaput. A quick search revealed about 10-20 places, the problem being that none of them are local or have a physical location. They all seemed to be operators who assign you to some unknown local person who can come out to you and replace the key. That seemed problematic - giving my address to strangers I can't trace back to a particular business. Add to that, there prices were double what I paid here : Here it was $75 to get a key w a chip replaced for a late 2000s foreign car. I'm so glad I could support an actual local business, reputable and with a physical location. The key was ready in no less than 30 minutes, they had me check it and then shaved it down a little more. Very transparent and I got the same info on the phone and in person. I'm telling all my friends about this place for when they need keys.

And it's a family run business instead of other locksmiths I have talked to on the phone where you first call a virtual assistant, this company doesn't use a virtual assistant and goes right to a live person at the store.

A locksmith called and established when he would arrive. The adjustments were accomplished in 30 minutes. The online description established an estimate would be made after arrival and review of the problem - no estimate was offered. The final bill included a visitation fee, an emergency fee and then an inordinately large service fee doubled because of the 2 locks. The total cost was incredibly high for the services rendered. I asked for a refund of at least the emergency fee and received no response. I would question everything from this type of online service. The work accomplished was done well but the 'hidden' fees were outrageous.

Finally I decided enough and took it this place since it was near where I live I just dropped in. They were friendly but a little short, didn't seem interested, said cant do it today need to make an appointment. Gave a price it would be if they could find the piece of the key in the lock, a little more if they had to remove the doorpanel,$75. Less than I was expecting really. So I set an appointment and let them know the best times for me, let them know I wasnt far away. They called me a couple hours later and said they had an opening, if I could come by. I took the car, they looked no broken key in the locks. So they took a lock out of the storage compartment, that gave them all but the last cut. They made about 6 keys and found the one that worked. It took some time, couple hours maybe less. I hung around they were friendlier than I expected normally being so close to home I mightve left and came back. Very good place to go charged me very fairly (way less than I expected I almost told them they didn't charge enough even, less than anything mentioned.
