A big reason we chose Airpets is that they were the only service that would get him on a non-stop flight. They genuinely care about their non-human clients. Do not use this company. I was instructed to use this company as part of our military PSC after we couldn't get our pet on an AMC flight but am highly disappointed with their lack of communication and speed of service. For several requests of information, I was left hanging and then was told they can't support us period after working with them for nearly two weeks. One of their staff was working on getting me a link to an approved pet carrier. I waited and waited and kept emailing back asking for a response over 8 days. I was running short on time before the flight and needed to get a pet carrier bought and shipped (living overseas with no pet store options). So I went ahead to reviewed IATA guidelines and ordered one myself. No crate information was provided by the Airpets agent still and when I told her what I bought in an attempt to follow IATA guidelines, she told me that was not compliant. How complaint? She didn't specify. What I should order instead? Again, still not provided. At this point, I don't have time to order a replacement. They also never responded with flight options nor did they send a deposit link over the two weeks I worked with them. After those two weeks of trying to make headway and solidify plans, I was told that they can no longer assist me because of our short deadline. They wasted that time and then told me to reach out to a different pet service. I have just over a week before we move internationally and am now having to start from scratch with a new company. Since this outrageous comment was left by Karoline B. Business Owner, on an old account, to which I can no longer login, my only option to address it is to leave a new review. This was her comment on my last, one star review which you can find here on the Airpets International page and which tells the whole story: "Hello Karyn. We take a pet's health and welfare very seriously. You asked us to confirm that Kiko could have Trazadone and Gabapentin. We advised that we would have to talk to your vet before answering that question. Both of these drugs can be fatal to your pup if not administered properly. As a rule, we highly discourage giving pets sedatives for flights, even in small doses but it is case by case. This is a conversation the coordinator assigned to your move has with your vet once you become a paid client. We hope Kiko had a good journey!" Today, six months after I wrote my original review, you responded with a load of B.S. You're not getting away with implying that I would harm my beloved dog Kiko by saying, "We advised that we would have to talk to your vet before answering that question. Both of these drugs can be fatal to your pup if not administered properly." Any sedatives that I may have contemplated using were prescribed by our vet. My vet provided clear instructions for how to use the medication safely and we reviewed those instructions together thoroughly. I would never do anything to harm Kiko. Shipping him was an arduous, nerve-wracking process made much worse by Airpets International YOU did not get a chance to speak to my vet because YOU demanded a non-refundable deposit of $475.00 BEFORE you would answer the questions that I needed answered, so I could decide if I wanted to work with you. As I advised people in my original review: "If you are thinking of working with Airpets International, save yourself time, aggravation and money and call Alaska Airlines directly instead at: 1-800-225-2752 . You will reach a real person at Alaska Airlines who will answer all of your questions, explain the process in detail and schedule your pet for transport in a few hours or less [not the 9+ days it took Airpets International to NOT answer my questions.] Alaska Airlines require zero upfront payment of any sort until you get to the airport with your pet on flight day...Be prepared by a visit to their pet transportation page on their website at: https://www.alaskaair.com/content/travel-info/policies/pets-traveling-with-pets/pets-in-baggage-compartment . While you need to get your pet to the airport cargo on your own, the entire cost is significantly less than half of what Airpets International charges." There's so much to say, but while I experienced much difficulty in finding a service provider that could assist with my pet tortoises move to Hawaii, Airpets takes the cake as the best for pricing, customer service, care and handling. I had much anxiety around the idea of transporting my tortoise as he would be unable to fly with me because he is a reptile. The representatives at Airpets including Elyse and Laura really helped ease my anxiety and assist me with any questions I had throughout this whole process! The handler/driver, Wayne, was always in contact with us and sending photos of where they were on their journey. The employees managing her trip at Airpets were friendly and responsive. We had an absolutely terrible experience moving from the US to the UK with Airpets International. The initial contact and coordination was excellent, but as soon as something went wrong the quality of the interaction went off a cliff. Our pets' original flight was canceled due to a sudden Covid-related embargo, which was obviously not Airpets' fault, but we received very little and very poor communication afterwards, zero sympathy or flexibility, and weeks of delays with no information until they got our pets onto another flight. We were left hanging with no guidance on when our pets might be able to make it over, with them stuck in a kennel for weeks far from us or any support and we were expected to pick up the tab. There was very poor communication about what documents we needed and when, and both we and our vet were blamed for not having the right information when it was never provided. The only consistent communication we received was around paying our (quite high and constantly-climbing) bill before they would even consider getting our pets near a plane. Our pets arrived pretty traumatised from the experience. They've recovered well but we will never be working with Airpets again and would strongly recommend you find another provider. read more

We chose Airpets for the relocation of our French Bulldog. We moved from the UK to Pennsylvania in the US. We felt that after reading the reviews, seeing the Instagram page and after talking to Kelly, that they would be perfect. Some issues were out of their hands such as the heatwave that hit all 3 airports our pup would have to go through - LDN Heathrow; Turkey and IAD Washington. The communication from Kelly at Airpets was not consistent and we would have to initiate all contact. We saw that this had been picked up on in some previous reviews. Once dates had been set, Airpets were good enough to collect our pup from a new location as we had already moved to the US. He was collected on time and the vet check was done quickly with emails sent to confirm this. The A-Z Broker kept us informed. We were disappointed with the photos we received. Reviews all comment on the great photos and videos. All we got were some photos of him looking unhappy and eating from a food bowl that had been left in his wee patch. We understand that he was flying with the Turkish Air handlers, but Airpets states strongly about their good rapport with all airlines handling the transport. This did not feel like that at all. Almost as though once he left Heathrow Airpets were not bothered. Choice Aviation handled the last stage and we were appalled at how we were re-united with our pup. He was left in his crate with a view of us, he was crying and howling. Despite being an hour early to pick him up and the flight running 58 minutes late, Choice Aviation were unhelpful and did not appear to know what they were doing. We were made to wait and fill out paperwork that could have been done earlier, the staff dealing with us had no idea how to use the system, in the meantime our pup was getting distressed and we were not allowed in to see him. A lovely member of staff came to our rescue and went to comfort our pup, then took over to complete the release quickly. Thank goodness he knew what he was doing. We were then given another issue and that was getting him out of the crate. He had been cable tied in, understandable, but we were told that they could not cut the ties or give us anything to open it. My husband ended up ripping them off with brute force. To end it all we then had to rush our pup into a public toilet and wash him in the sink. Where he had got so distressed he ended up covered in his own feces. We expected after a 10 hour flight he would need a clean up, but not to this extend. Overall we are disappointed with the image that Airpets paints for itself as we feel we saw none of this. Jake stepped in at the last minute as Kelly was ill, his communication was better but did not make up for the whole experience. My husband is currently putting a complaint together direct to Airpets. Daniel G from Airpets picked them up and brought them to my home in No Dallas. Daniel and the folks at Airpets kept me in the loop during the final leg of my fur fam's journey. Daniel stayed around a bit and helped me to ease Elvis and Binx into their new surroundings. Airpets International made moving our two dachshund mixes from the US to Ireland during COVID extremely easy and stress-free! My husband and I were both nervous about figuring out how to get our dogs abroad with us, a big part of that being we had only a short amount of time from when we found out we were moving to when we would need to be arriving in Ireland. From the first step Airpets International did an amazing job of making sure we knew what to do. They handled everything from the paperwork, flights, customs, etc. We had to sell our cars with the move so we opted to have them pick up our dogs from our house, and then drop them off at our apartment in Ireland. The people who did the pick up and drop off were so friendly and obviously take their job seriously making sure our dogs were happy and comfortable. Airpets also made sure to give us regular updates and photos of our dogs as they were traveling, so we could rest easy knowing they were being taken care of. I'm so glad we decided to use their services because there were so many steps with the paperwork and customs, I'm sure it would've been easy for us to miss something if we had tried to do this on our own. I would highly recommend that if you are moving abroad with a pet, definitely go with Airpets International. I had enormous anxiety when the airlines stopped allowing support animals on commercial flights. We were moving to Puerto Rico and did not know how to get our furry friend to the island. Airpets America took care of everything with professionalism and skill. First they identified a cargo carrier airlines with a flight time that matched our geographical needs and safety concerns. Next they assigned a concierge to help discussing details and with purchasing the appropriate crate and travel gear, then assigned staff to meet me at cargo and ensure the paperwork is completed and my dog was secured and loaded. Transporting a large do is not so easy. It's a lot simpler to transport a small dog but finding a company that would transport our large dog across the US was not so simple. We did a little homework and found out about Airpets America. That was our lucky day! I am currently in the middle of an overseas move. They said ok yeah let's get things going 3 weeks ago. Now we are down to 1 week. No one calls me back. Called 2 times day before yesterday and said please please please can you guys make some calls and tell me what is going on I have to have an itinerary. Daniel's response was when we have time. I said we'll if you have time to talk to me please just make a phone call and do something to get this moving. He said NO when he has time maybe. Also Randi was our original agent and has not answered 1 phone call to me in 1 1/2 weeks which is why Daniel ended up talking to me. They obviously aren't experts and now I'm wondering if my animals would be safe with someone who refuses to even call and check on something when things go wrong. I am so late in writing this review but I really wanted to do it because this guys have been life savers . If you don't believe in miracles , hear this : they managed to move my 47kg / 104 lbs German Shepherd -mid pandemic- mid-july- from LA California to Bucharest Romania - on the same day as my flight !! I tried for weeks to plan his trip on my own thinking nobody , no company is gonna care as much as I do and take all necessary precautions ,and talk to all the right people and make sure my baby is ok . I was in denial that anybody can do a better job than me . And I drove myself crazy , hours everyday of research , of calling airlines , of taking notes , of checking online regulations , of calling again and every single time , right as I was calling to purchase the tickets and his spot , I was given a no . Each time after talking to several different people from an airline asking them a million questions , when it came time to purchase the ticket the last person I talked to would actually tell me they can't fly him for various reasons : weather -and they stop flying pets internationally past a certain day (this was in July) so that they're not too hot in the luggage compartment ,covid regulations , they just don't fly dogs that big or their flights kept getting cancelled because nobody was really flying at that time . I didn't have many options to begin with since most airlines had come to a halt. And then I found AirPets America ! Q the angelic choir music ! From the first time I talked to Brett , I felt a sense of ease and confidence come over me : Alright ! This guy knows what he's talking about ! He told me in 20 years of doing this they have never lost a pet or had any health issues -injuries happen to one . Monty , the team member assigned to my case , walked me through every single step . From the paperwork I needed , where to go , what to say ,where to have them sign so no customs agent anywhere can find fault , to what crate size I need , what bowls and other practical matters to the actual flight route for my dog which ended up being on cargo planes due to his size but on the same day as my commercial flights . So here is how the day went . Arrived at LAX at the place where you drop off your pets at noon . There was someone there paid by the company to stay in line and do all the paperwork for us . So because my flight was only at 6pm , I just stayed there keeping my boy company , walking him , giving him water , in the 3h it took for his papers to be done . I could have just put him in his crate and handed him over , the depo where they were keeping the other dogs and all the cargo merchandise was really well ventilated so that the pups and fruits and whatever else they were moving , stays safe and chill in that July weather . When the paperwork was done I had to hand him over and the whole staff there helped me fix his papers right on his crate , I even talked to the pilot and everybody was so nice and reassuring and for the remainder of time he had left to wait, 2h , in the depo , they said someone checks on them every 30 min and pours them more water . I received an email when he was loaded on the plane and when the plane took off . He had a layover in Frankfurt and I also received emails when he landed , When they received him in the animal center there , I received pictures of him and updates from the staff and they were very friendly and answered promptly all my emails . In the center they have vets checking on them , they let them out of their crates in a huge room , feed them , calm them down even wash their crates !! I received an email when he was loaded back on the plane towards Bucharest and when he landed . In Bucharest , Monty had found a company that would do the airport pick up for him and all the customs paperwork . Since I arrived earlier that day and he arrivesd at 2 am that night , I couldn't wait for him and since I was supposed to go straight into self quarantine at home , I couldn't be the one who went and picked him up . So these amazing people went there at midnight and waited for hours and dealt with customs, gave him water and brought him all the way in front of my door at home ! Safe and sound and not even that traumatized . He was happy to see me but not in a " Omg ! Thank God you're here ! That was awful ! "Type of way ! I can't thank Airpets America enough for being there for me every step of the way and finding solutions where I thought there are none . This year has been crazy enough and worrying about my dog getting lost , sent to the wrong country or mishandled and hurt on this long trip would have been the end of my sanity :) thankfully I found this team so if you're looking for solutions and if you're trying to decide on a company , look no further ! Horribly run and unorganized place..... I wouldn't trust my pet with these people for anything as I got three different quotes in one day

I am not usually someone who takes the time to write reviews, but after the nightmare experience we had with Airpets I felt a responsibility to warn others that they may avoid this same outcome. In short, in our experience we found that terrible communication, outright dishonesty, and broken promises left us separated from our dog for a month. Throughout this process we felt like we were navigating this all on our own. The many mistakes that were made seemed like rookie errors that a professional pet shipping company should have know enough to avoid. There was a clear lack of organization behind the scenes and poor communication between the staff. The company operated in a very reactive fashion rather than proactively providing us the information we needed. We followed their directions to the letter, but their poor planning and lack of guidance led to many unnecessary problems. Airpets never successfully shipped our dog to us. After they botched her shipment twice we voided our contract with them, moved our business to Air Animales and had Hopper with us within a week's time. read more

I would definitely recommend Airpets America. They treated my two dogs very well, one being around 16 years old, and I never felt that they weren't in good hands. I paid for them to do the paperwork with customs and it really was worth it. They made sure that all my paperwork was acceptable and when they landed all I had to do was sign a single piece of paper and load them into the car. They looked happy and healthy. I feel they went out of their way to make sure my plans, which were not flexible, coincided with their itinerary. I received regular updates through the entire process, from the first call until they arrived in Germany with me. I wouldn't trust this company to send even a package for me, their employees are clueless. I spoke with Brent about my move out of the country for my dog, timing for when he had to go was pretty tight... and Brent did try to speed my quote through to help me out, I'll give him that. I was quoted $2500 - $3500 for the move. I was fine with that and they went ahead in preparing my quote. the communication was terrible. I was the one who had to call daily to check on the status because everyone I spoke with anyone from this company I was told I'll have the written quote the next morning. I was also told I needed a blood titer test for my dog (which cost $500) for the move, no problem, i got that done the next day. still hadn't received the written quote so called again. now the cost was going to be $8000. I asked that they move forward with this and get the paperwork sent to me and I'll be looking at other companies as well. I still haven't received anything, no calls, nothing. it's well over a week and its time that I don't have due to the short window of time I have. I wanted to go with this company because it is family owned. it's my fault for not requesting multiple quotes from a few companies. I contacted several others and received quotes within 24 hours. the company I'm going with has been keeping in constant communication and explaining the process well. And guess what? I don't need the blood titer test for my move after all so not only did Airpets America cost me over a week of time, they also cost me $500. Nobody was upfront and honest with me at this place. I would never recommend this company, but if you do decide to hire them... . ask alot of questions because they will keep you in the dark. And don't start your animals vaccines and tests until you double check yourself on what they really need. read more

I contacted them requesting a quote for the transport of my dog from the US to Brazil. They came back with an $11,000.00 quote, stating the only option they could find was from US to Germany to Brazil, and that they wouldn't recommend that, for obvious reasons. The reason for the steep cost and lengthy flight was because my Dogo Argentino is considered a "dangerous dog" and that no other airlines would transport her, other than the option they found. After a quick 10 minute search, I found out that Avianca Airlines would fly Dogo Argentinos to Brazil direct from the US out of Miami, and could do so only in certain cargo holds (Airbus A330 or Boeing 787). Not sure if they just didn't want the liability of coordinating a flight for what is considered a "dangerous breed of dog" or just didn't really spend a lot of time looking into options, but either way, I figured a little feedback was warranted. read more

I was very nervous about my 8-wk old puppy traveling from Lubbock TX to Atlanta GA as it involved her spending a day and 2 nights in a kennel (Airpets America Pet Oasis) before flying on to Atlanta. Well, I need not have worried a single second! The team (Jelena, Randy and Ricky) were absolutely amazing. My puppy arrived in beauty and health, having had a wonderful time at the Oasis (I was sent photos every step of the way). They were short on staff and handling everything just the three of them but everything went seemlessly. I would use them again in a flash. These guys are truly exceptional. read more

This company was referred to us by one of our friends I have to admit that was a great choice that he made this company are very professionalprofessional and very informative I have to say it was immensely essential for us to get our dog to the destination safety. Having never done this before we were in need for the company whose job is transportation of animals. They prepared all the necessary documents all airline reservations and providing information including photographs how to prepare the cradle with necessary stickers and so on . DO NOT USE AIRPETS AMERICA! I wish I didn't have to write this review, but I felt it was important to warn others about Airpets America. The only reason I am giving them one star is because my dog arrived safely overseas, but everything else about my experience with Airpets America was terrible. Moving overseas is a very stressful thing to do and although I knew I could work out the logistics of moving my dog overseas, I hired Airpets America in order to take away all of the stress involved in the move. Unfortunately, Airpets America made my move more stressful than I could have imagined. All of the paperwork and emails I received from Airpets America stated that I must get a health certificate for my dog within 14 days of travel. I followed this guidance to the letter. Upon arrival to the airport with my dog and all of his paperwork, I was informed by the company that the health certificate must be completed within 10 days of travel, not 14. My dog was not allowed to travel and I was in panic mode. I had to call four different vets to find someone who could see my dog on short notice. I had to take my last day of work off in order to get my dog a new health certificate. I missed saying goodbye to my coworkers, friends and boss and missed a going away socially distanced gathering in my honor, all because Airpets America provided the wrong guidance. My dog had to be at my residence while movers were packing up our belongings, which caused my dog additional stress that I was trying to avoid by transporting him on his original flight. Airpets America booked my dog on a new flight three days after his original flight, but unfortunately I had to ship my vehicle before the new flight which meant I had no way to get him to the airport. Since it was Airpet America's fault that my dog did not make his originally scheduled flight, I asked that they complimentary have someone pick my dog up from my residence and take him to the airport. Initially Airpets America agreed to do this service for free, which would normally cost $280. Once I got the $191 vet bill for my dog's new health certificate, I asked that Airpets America also pay for this bill since it was their fault that my dog needed a new health certificate. This is when I started getting push back from the company. I only asked for the pick up service and reimbursement for the vet bill that were caused due to the faulty guidance from their company. In the end, Airpets America reimbursed the vet bill but only paid for half of the pick up service. Everyone at AirPets America was absolutely fantastic to work with. They guided me through all of the paperwork and took very good -excellent - care of my cat during a move from the U.S. to the U.K. It was nerve wracking putting my baby into someone else's care, but if anything, my cat is calmer now than she was before the move. I cannot recommend AirPets America highly enough. They truly love the animals and treat them as they would their own pets. From the initial consultation with Kelly to the final drop-off with Dakota, Airpets America was a great company to work with. We had a couple of slight glitches along the way - UK import regs changed the day before the flight, but we were informed ahead of time and were able to get completely prepared. Miranda stepped in literally at the last minute due to our original consultant moving on, but she had everything well in hand and was very prompt at answering late questions and concerns. With thunderstorms and severe weather a looming threat on departure day, Dakota checked on the flight status and kept us well up-to-date with what was going on, and was reassuring as to what would happen in case of delays or a cancelled flight. At Heathrow we were informed that all our paperwork was in good order and we even had a customs officer pre-assigned! All in all this was a very positive experience - thanks to everyone who made this possible! read more
