I liked the idea of supporting a local business for what I needed instead of going to a big-box store. That said, you might pay a little more for some items. I'm also thinking of calling to see if they offer knife sharpening--another local hardware store I know does this. I came in to buy a smoker and thought I did my research on the subject. Dan gave me pros and cons of all of them, and we came to an agreement on one that was best suited for my needs. Everything was transparent and answered professionally. To make the experience even better Dan delivered the smoker the next day almost to the exact time he told me in the store.
