We came here for the Valentine's Day experience and were pretty satisfied, although there were a few points of a feedback I think that could make the experience even better. First, I think the location is gorgeous and vibey with ambient lighting and candles everywhere. The music is calming and serene. I really enjoyed the bathhouse and thought that it was extremely spacious with 4 hot tubs of varying temperatures, a saltwater flotarium (my personal fav) and a steam room. Also, our massages were great--maybe we got lucky but Diana and Sean were great massage therapists and did an excellent job! I also loved the amenities in the locker room-- from the Dyson hair options to the other things like combs, moisturizer, mouth wash, etc., they truly had anything you could need to get ready after your experience. A few points of feedback: 1) A sauna would be nice! 2) The massage table face hole was extremely small for my husband (and I've noticed a few others stating the same. I personally didn't notice.) 3) It would make the experience soooo much better to be able to pick the order of when you experience the baths/massage. I'd much rather do the massage first, because when it came time for our massages we were wet, weren't offered towels to dry off, and then had wet robes and suits to put back on after the massage--yuck.

I visited AIRE Ancient Baths in Chicago back in 2019, and while that location was much larger, the UES location does a wonderful job maximizing the space available in NYC. From the moment we arrived, everyone from the front desk to locker room attendants to the spa staff was kind, attentive, and professional. I love that they offer hot mint tea and flavored waters throughout the experience. We were provided a locker with our own robe, water shoes, and bath mat upon arrival, which made everything feel extra comfortable and seamless. The baths were well-maintained and clean, and the overall atmosphere felt incredibly peaceful. We did the 90-minute Ultimate Couples Experience, and it was truly relaxing. The only small thing I'd change is that I wish the shower temperatures were a bit warmer, but that didn't take away from the overall experience. My favorite was the saltwater bath - I managed to fall asleep and take a nap to the music they play under water while I floated! I loved how tranquil the entire experience was. I genuinely forgot I was in NYC for a while and I'll definitely be back.

AIRE Ancient Baths offers an unforgettable experience. I went with one of my good friends on a Saturday evening. Evening spa experience? YES Please! The service was exceptional, with warm, welcoming staff who made me feel so comfortable the entire time. The massage I had was deeply relaxing, and the entire space is serene and beautifully designed. This was truly a rejuvenating escape in the heart of NYC!

I absolutely loved this location. Although it's smaller than the Tribeca location, it lacked in nothing. From the moment I walked in the staff took care of me. James at the front desk was so nice and made sure I understood how my morning would go. I had an amazing 90-minute massage from Shaniza and it was the best I've had in a very long time. The baths were relaxing with not many people so it was perfect (quiet and relaxing). The locker rooms were also very well kept and I appreciated them having hair products for natural hair available. If you're thinking about it, trust me and book it along with a massage.

My spa experience was pretty good, the highlight for me was the baths and the mint sauna room. They have a no phone policy so I couldn't get any pictures or videos inside. The massage was fair I've had better massages that cost way less but my masseuse Zeel was very gentle. Customer service was pretty good, Claudia was amazing helping the ladies in the bathroom. It's worth it if you care mostly about soaking in the baths or doing a plunge. Overall nice experience

Today was opening day for the general public, and I must say that the staff did a good job of communicating with us guests and making us feel like our experience and input was valuable. Fun fact: this location was previously a storage facility for the Museum of Modern Art. This newer venue has a different layout than the one in Tribeca. Either way, I could write a love song about the Floatarium, my favorite feature in BOTH NY locales. The branding, robes, lighting, baths, menus and ambiance are consistent with Tribeca and I suspect, the other national and international Aire Ancient Baths. Hearing about the body painting simulation of the "Monet" experience body treatment- offered exclusively at this location- has peaked my interest... maybe next time. Nearby: Roosevelt Island, Trader Joe's

Gabriella, Sean, and Aaron made this a wonderful birthday experience. I only write reviews when the service and product are note worthy and the Upper East Side facility/team excelled on all fronts. Came as a walk in for my birthday and they were able to accommodate an amazing massage and use of the baths which were phenomenal. Added bonus that it was not cramped or overcrowded like my experience at other establishments so thoroughly a great experience on all fronts especially the attention to detail like the heated robe, water shoes, and swimwear post massage along with the swimwear being dried and packaged once you've finished and hit the showers. Overall great experience, will be back!

Had a 10a reservation for a 60-min experience. AIRE is beautiful! From the moment you walk in, you can just feel that you're in for a treat. You're given a few bands that assist the employees in identifying which experiences you reserved. We started with the baths -- dimly lit, quiet with just the sound of the waters, and absolutely no cell phones! I was only able to grab pics of the entrance because they have a strict no phone policy beyond the changing room. The baths were so soothing and relaxing. I absolutely loved it. After our bath experience was over, the next stop was our 60-min massages. While the massage was almost perfect, my gripe is the order of events. I expected the massage first and then finishing off my morning in the baths. Imagine, you're soaking wet -- yes, you dry off before you lie on the table -- but it's still an icky feeling that I didn't like. It would have been good to know during the booking process that one has the option to choose the order. Anyway, that aside, I would definitely visit again. Very relaxing and a beautiful establishment.

The wording here is also grammatically incorrect, it should say "online support" not offline.

I never received my booking confirmation via email. For such an expensive service, that is absolutely unacceptable. Without it, I was left wondering if I needed to contact my bank. I spent over 40 minutes on the phone, waiting for someone -- anyone -- to answer. No one ever did. At the same time, I tried using their online chat service. I watched my place in line go from two to one... and then the agent went offline. I tried again, reached number one in line, waited another 10 minutes -- and again, the agent went offline. I took screenshots. Out of options, I called their Tribeca location -- the phone situation there was exactly the same. No one picked up. For a business that only opened three months ago, with just a handful of global locations and a large staff-to-client ratio, they are already demonstrating an extremely lazy approach to communication. I've also noticed that across several of their locations, they do not reply to negative reviews -- a red flag that they are not managing customer feedback or protecting their reputation. To be clear, I've visited their London and Chicago locations. I had a similar issue at the Chicago location, where the online agent was also unreachable -- though after several tries, I was at least able to get someone on the phone. I did not experience this problem at all in London. Perhaps this is an issue with the U.S.-based staff -- I can't say for certain. At this point, I strongly suspect the staff here have a "not my job, not my problem" mindset -- which is incredibly disappointing for a brand trying to position itself as a premium service. Based on how my interaction with them tomorrow goes IF I do have the appointment I booked I will leave a separate review on the facilities and service however, this one will remain as a fair warning to those who like to plan ahead and like communication options in the event you have issues of any kind.

I always go solo. :) so yes it's very relaxing!

If a reservation is for a specific time, do we need to show up at that time or anytime within that hour?

I highly recommend that you show up 10 minutes before the exact time. If you show up late, that cuts into your time.

I've only tried the float therapy here so far. The float rooms are located in the bottom floor down this very steep staircase, but inside it is nearly completely soundproof (or as soundproof as one can get in the middle of Midtown...). The experience is very relaxing, as you get a huge private room to shower and then float in. The tubs are also really big so you don't feel claustrophobic. I appreciate the amenities as well, like lotion and little packets of Vaseline to cover up cuts. You get plenty of time to shower before and after your appointment so you do not feel rushed at all. Staff is very knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly. They do not try to upsell you on stuff and kind of just leave you to do your own thing, which I really appreciate.

Then the glorious hour was all mine. You strip, shower & carefully step into the float room (8-10" deep). Make your sensory adjustments and off you go! Your mind does the rest. About 20-25 minutes in I forgot where my limbs were or that I had them...my imagination started running (I had sound & blue light on and mostly eyes closed). I saw organic shapes & moving flower type shapes with feminine faces emerging from each one followed by a series of uncommon floating terrains and then just a drifting twilight consciousness. Never asleep though. All in all pretty wonderful & definitely an experience I'll have again in the near future.

The guy at the front desk was very welcoming, he greeted us as soon as we walked in. He told us it would just be a few minutes while he got the rooms ready for us. He was very thorough in explaining the process and offered us waters and showed us where we could get some should we need more during our time there. The place was also very clean. They provide robes, towels, slippers, pretty much everything you need. I did the two part experience, starting with the sauna and finishing with the float. I started with the sauna where which was 45 mins then moved to the float which was 1 hour. The only issue I had here was that the sauna room was too small. I was unable to fully lay/stretch out on the bench, which would've made for a much more relaxing experience. Instead, I had to sit the 45 mins with my knee bent and the bench was hard on my butt despite them having a towel down. The float was by far my favorite part of the experience. It's right across from the sauna room. The guy again comes to take you there and explain the process in detail. There's a shower for you to use before you get in the float and to get your body ready and acclimated to the temperature in the float. There's float has light and relaxing music, both of which you have control of if you want it or not. I turned the light off initially but it was way too dark for me lol I felt trapped so I opted for lights on. The process was so very relaxing that I even fell asleep for a while. I was woken up by the audio telling me the float has ended and thanks for floating. It also tells you that it will begin the cleansing process soon so you should exit the float. As I was showering and getting ready to leave, I saw it going through the cleansing process which was good to see. Definitely recommend this float if you are stressed or just need a mental break. It was good to just be in there with you and your thoughts to reflect and detach and then eventually, truly relax!

This was a nice experience. Hubby gifted me a visit to Reset Float for an hour in their sensory…read moredeprivation tank. He purchased the experience from Groupon. I was initially worried because of a past claustrophobia event during an MRI (I'm not usually claustrophobic but I freaked out during my scan and had to be calmed down). Hubby and I had time off together and decided to take the trip to LI for my session. He booked one for himself as well. When we arrived, Raymond checked us in. He explained what we should do in preparation for the session and provided us wutg wax ear plugs. Each room is single occupancy with its own shower (with soap and shampoo), towels, slippers, and bacitracin (if you have any scratches on your skin). It would be best to not book right after shaving or if you gave open wounds, because you'll be floating in a high concentration of Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate), which could be irritating to cuts and abrasions. They provide the bacitracin for you to put onto any scrape you may have, which alleviates the sting. Once in the room, you disrobe and shower. You must be clean before entering the tank. The tank is like a clam shell, you climb in and use the "pillow" under your head to keep your head afloat. You're completely naked in the tank and you just float. Napping has exponential benefits while in the tank. Once you set your session, the tank does all the work. You can listen to music, adjust the sound, or just stay in the quiet room. I fell asleep a few times. Because of the high concentration of MgSO4, you're floating and have pretty decent buoyancy. I have locs, so I brought my own swim cap - I would suggest bringing one of you don't want the liquid saturating your hair. Raymond examined how to put on the cap, with the hair on the very top of your head, and the side of the cap covering your ears. I would say, however, not to cover your ears because it creates a spacc for the liquid to seep into and for that reason, I was a bit unhappy with what happened after my session. Once the float is done, the tank let's you know. You exit the tank, hop in the shower, and clean yourself. Once you leave the tank, it begins it's self-cleaning process. The water is swirling around and around and I'm guessing they use UV to help clean it. I did not realize that there was soooo much salt in the tank. I thought I did a good job cleaning myself off in the shower, but because the water got into my swim cap some, once it dried, everything that still had remnants of the water, dried white. Once we headed out, Raymond had water waiting for us. That was refreshing. You should not have a heavy meal or drink a lot of fluids ahead of your visit. I was wearing a black dress and the drips from my hair would dry on my dress and then turn white. You really have to rinse yiursf off very well. It would be best to schedule this kind of experience on a day when you have nothing else to do. I will say that for the actual experience, it was very relaxing and felt amazing but the aftercare was a lot, especially with the salt drying. I would do this again, but definitely will not be going anywhere else afterwards.

He had planned an evening of theatre, but I absolutely enjoy a chill evening+homemade brunch and wellness activities. He's been to AIRE prior, and I've had many massages locally in LA prior and always opt for the hot stone massage, this time couples massage which is what we did. It was cozy, relaxing, decompressing, and aromatic! Esp, on a snowy, 16 degrees outside wintery kinda Xmas holiday season. What a delight! We began our evening walking from the West Village, then upon entering Aire being greeted with warm tea my absolute fav drink besides an iced matcha. We were given wristbands and headed to our keyless entry lockers to robe up and descend into the jacuzzi, sauna, and cold plunge pools. It Feels like entering a gorgeous gothic cave. Strung abt are hundreds of real candles+exposed brick walls. Something we don't have in earthquake prone LA. Truly a romantic, and relaxing ambiance. After the messages, we grabbed our green juices and headed up to shower and dry the hairs on our heads with all the best products and Dyson hair equipment. Not lost on me. Thanks for a wonderful HBD evening, into night. What a beautiful, relaxing, healthy experience. It's the best, truly! Merry Christmas guys.

I've been back to AIRE dozens of time since my original review in 2013 (both TriBeca and uptown,…read morebut mainly TriBeCa location). For the most part, we have always enjoyed our experience - it never felt super crowded and the pools were always nice and relaxing to enjoy, as well as the steam room located in the center of the pools. It's a beautiful space. Massages continue to be mixed however --- my husband always wants a harder massage, while I ask for a lighter touch. He claims they never go as hard as he wants. My last massage there was fantastic. They renovated the space last year, and have run some promos recently and on our last visit it was noticeably more crowded, more than I had ever experienced before. I can only guess it is due to these two factors. We had an hour long massage, which I was extra happy about because I would've been frustrated being in those packed pools for the full 90 mins (massage was good, see above). The steam room was packed, some pools filled with large groups of people, etc. And it was tough finding space at the vanity to get ready afterward, which I'd also never experienced before. Add to this that they were fixing one of the new plunge pools while we were there, and during our massage they twice dropped tools resulting in very loud sounds which echoed into massage rooms which were located nearby. I don't think it was a wise choice to have that work done while guests were there, considering the setting of tranquility they are trying to create. Considering all the above, we have decided to take a break from AIRE, at least the TriBeca location. I brought these issues to the attention of management there and they have apologized with a discount.

Wow! Love this place!! Made appointments for my boyfriend…read moreand I for the floatation therapy, nuratec, sauna, and cryotherapy today. Right when we arrived we were greeted. Very friendly staff! Both ladies were great. Very informative and helpful. I love the aromatherapy and the complimentary tea and water. The tea was delicious! I love that everything looked so clean. We felt safe! Everyone was masked. The floatation therapy was incredible! Each pod was clean and the showers were unique! Love the whole experience!! The infrared sauna was great too! 149 degrees. We detoxed. The large sauna was perfect for us. The lights were also a cool feature. The "full body" cryo was okay. Negative 249 degrees F. The nitrogen didn't reach quite as high as the full body one I did in NYC. So I probably wouldn't come here for full body cryotherapy again. Felt great from the waist down but didn't get much higher. My boyfriend loved the nuratec on his legs. They have legs, hips, or arms. He said it felt great. It's similar to the machines at the pharmacy that take your blood pressure but for your whole leg he told me lol. I would try it! We were told it's like a massage using air. It's pretty cool! We will definitely be returning here for some more treatments. :)

I feel like I need to warn y'all. Do not buy any service form this place…read more They are willing to steal your money and hide it behind *credits* I was gifted a float and massage. Couldn't do the float since my skin was way too sensitive and the system was literally burning my skin. Did the massage that was great. Even tipped $50 Figured I'd come back later another day. So I ordered another service. This time I paid for its Fast forward one week, I emailed to cancel. I will be leaving the area and can no longer keep my appointment that I made for two months from the purchase date. They refuse to issue a refund and want to keep it as credits. This is not how you do business or treat customers. Also their "lounge" is non existent. Just a bunch of empty computer boxes. There was no where to sit. Not worth the price they charge for any of their services.

Sure, that might sound a bit unusual...to do a float in someone's private home, but, hey, that's what makes it such a New York City experience, right?
