I also agree fully with the reviewer that wrote about the relentless phonecalls and disturbances throughout each session. I have since been listening to and reading the works of far more advanced (and warmer) sex therapists which opened my eyes to just how far off the mark this particular therapist is. Sadly, I think she is outdated, but escapes being noticed as such due to her direct 'style' of therapy. I think it disguises issues the therapist herself has and has yet to deal with. Just my two cents - hope it helps others on their journey to find a great therapist!

TLDR- it's fantastic…read more This is a long review... I have been to many therapists for trauma work but no practice has helped me the way Therapy for Women has. I broke up all the reasons I think Therapy for Women is amazing below. The values: This practice is based on mutual trust. You're therapist will happily share bits of their own life experiences. This always makes me feel less alone in what I am experiencing. Additionally, the open conversations make sessions comfortable/feel less like a doctors appointment. Therapy for Women also makes a point to let you know that you can switch therapists at anytime. Besides therapy won't be effective if you aren't comfortable with who you are talking too. In the office: The atmosphere is calming and quiet. Therapists have white noise machines at their door so your conversations will never be heard by someone passing by. If you are finding it hard to share something most therapists have art supplies, cards, fidget toys or board games that you are able to play during the session. The sessions are flexible and can be tailored to what you need. This is especially great for people like me with ADHD. The online portal: This might not be something many people think is important but the online portal is so simple. The rules, expectations, and prices for the practice are shared openly once you become a client so there is transparency. If you are ever confused about something or wondering about your last bill it is easy to look up past records and chat with your therapist directly. Price: Therapy for Women does not accept insurance (this is my understanding/ I'm not sure if there are specific exceptions). Sessions are relatively expensive since insurance doesn't cover the cost. However, Jen is a therapist I could stick with for years and I feel it is completely worth the extra cost. Over all: I really think this practice is something special and I am SO happy I found it when I did.

Please do not go here. Attempting to fit mental health care into a busy life is extremely…read moredifficult. A family member went here for months and, given extreme life circumstances well out of the ordinary, was unable to attend one session. She called and explained the situation, but since the situation arrived less than 24 hours before her scheduled appointment, she was still forced to pay her normal copay amount plus the amount insurance would typically reimburse all out of pocket. Life happens, and given that this was not a normal issue for her (no prior no shows during her care) and she called and told them her issue ahead of the appointment, it is completely unacceptable how they handle this. Attempting to better your mental health is a difficult task and the organization that offers that help should not be adding to your burden. This place cares much more about their bottom line than it does about helping its patients. Edit: They can give whatever reason they'd like to excuse their policy ("help as many people as possible"), but it is still a poor policy with no room for leniency or individual discretion. Instead of the company absorbing the cost of a missed appointment due to a true emergency, they choose to hold the individual, who is already seeking mental health care and currently undergoing an emergent stressful life event, personally/financially responsible. The policy itself, not the customer awareness, is what seems very flawed to me and I hope they consider making a change.
