We've used Air Temp and Luis multiple times over the last few years. He's always prompt and responsive when we call with issues. He's worked on our wine cooler AC and our house AC unit and has always done an excellent job. The last repair was looking like a very expensive replacement, but Luis was able to pinpoint a very small, hard-to-find issue and repair it. This saves us thousands of dollars. Great service. We called Luis and he has been helping repairs at our temple and in our home for years. He had fixed our old 14 year heater then installed a new larger heater at our request. I'm so grateful to have found "Air Temp". Called 4 other places and never received a call back from any of them, except Luis. Its very hard to get good, honest service people these days in any of the trades. Over the years Luis has fixed my air conditioner, heater and refrigerator a number of times. The man defiantly knows what he's doing. It never takes him very long to figure out what the problem is either. Unlike some service people that stand around wasting time, looking like they're trying to figure it out to pad the bill. Luis is a great mechanic. Absolutely terrible repair and customer service. Luis missed a couple appointments and was so late that the kitchen was closed when he finally arrived. He said he fixed our freezer and it didn't drop below 50 degrees and night and we lost almost all our product and when I called him so . he could return and complete the repair has told me our freezer gave him a headache and hung up on me. I got fast and nice service from Luis. He fixed my furnace in 20 minutes.

My sub zero refrigerator drawers stopped cooling. The first repair guy came out and the next day the temp was 11 degrees warmer. Called a lot of repair companies and got a lot of quotes that were all over the place and they were booking out a week. The only authorized sub zero repair is Box and they charge $98 just to come to your house and that fee is not put toward the repair. And they are expensive. I found Air Temp on one of my many calls and they charge $50 or $55 to come out (can't remember) and if the repair is done, that goes toward your repair cost. I called at 12:30 and was given an appt for the same day between 1-3. Luis came out at 2 and diagnosed a freon leak. He recharged the system and I am back with a working refrigerator. (for $195) I could have replaced the evaporator coil for $500+ and would have had to wait a few weeks for the part, and Luis gave me the choice. He thought the freon recharge could last a few years and he said the new coils are not the same quality as what Sub Zero used to use, so they are not lasting as long. My freon recharge is warrantied by them for 6 months. Luis was quick, efficient, knowledgeable and very nice. Highly recommend, especially for Sub Zero owners. They serve the entire Bay Area. read more

Extremely poor customer service from field tech. Lied and said no one was at home, but came to my home 1 1/2 earlier than appt time. My husband was home and in the garage. When told him that, tech Louis said home is too far cant make appt., call another company in the phone book because he has too many appts and my home is too far. Finishing with the fact that there are other HVAC companies that need business. I work in the healthcare service industry and was extremely disappointed with the customer service given to me. Definately will tell all my patients, coworkers, family and friends about this company. Louis is doing a big dis-service to this company. I will definately yelp, facebook, twitter the lousy service from this company. No one ever called to apologize. As a result, I had to wait another day for heat in my home. read more

Well, after getting hustled to the initial work, the frig stopped working and they came out and said something else is wrong with it and wanted another $200 in addition to the original $275. That is $475 and you can get a new great refrigerator from Costco for $850. Did not do the work and will buy a new refrigerator. Changed my rating from 2 stars to 1 star read more

The kind of company that gives all Repair Techs and firms a bad name! I called two weeks in advance to set an appointment. The time window for the appointment came and I called to check on ETA but had to leave a message. Window came and went and I called and got Carla, who said that the tech had a "personal emergency" and would not be able to make it. Of course it would have been nice of them to call but emergencies do happen. Rescheduled appointment for the following Monday and I re-arranged my personal schedule to be at home. The day before the appointment get a voice-mail from Gloria that they don't service the San Jose area and that we should call someone else! 3 weeks after booking the appointment and after a no-show, they decide that they don't service San Jose! Luis was great. He came the day I called and fixed our sub-zero fridge in a couple of hours. He was able to explain the problem, how he planned to fix it, and what the next (more expensive) repair would be if this on didn't last for more than a year. He also suggested a simple maintenance/cleaning procedure that might help avoid the same problem in the future and told us we could call him for advice (no charge) about the cleaning when the time came to do it. My furnace was old and needed to be repaired. I called on a Monday, had Luis stop in on Tuesday and he and his crew had a new furnace in by 11:30 AM Wednesday. They were careful not to bump anything bringing equipment in/out and made sure to use drop cloth anywhere they walked on the carpet. During the installation they also noticed one of the ducts had come loose from one of the heat vents in the ceiling. They fixed the problem (a loose connection strap) for a marginal fee. My house now has heat, a better thermostat and a few less blankets on the bed. Great job by these guys... read more

Would never recommend them. We had a service technician come and fix our refrigerator motor. Then he broke the light in the freezer and wouldn't confess to it. When he came out the second time he told us he did do it but he wasn't going to fix it. The company wouldn't return any our calls. read more

So far, so good. They were quick--dispatched Mark w/i 2 hours of my call. He diagnosed the problem and gave me a run down of what was wrong. Was able to get the compressor on our 20 year old sub zero up and running, but warned us that this could be a temporary fix, and told us he'd have the part on standby in case we need it tomorrow. read more

After reading good reviews, I called Luis on a Sunday. Our freezer is too cold and our refrigerator is not cold enough. He called back within a couple of hours and we set an appointment for Monday 2-4. Perfect. Except he didn't show up and didn't call Monday. To make matters worse, had he just told me he wasn't coming, I could have made an appointment with any of the other four companies that returned my call Monday morning. Very frustrating. read more

After 3 repairmen sent by our insurance company came and just gave it a dirty look, Luis checked out our fridge and was very honest that it was cheaper to replace than to do the expensive repairs. Called on Tue booked appointment for 5.30 - 7pm Wed. Was specific that I don't get home till after 5.30pm. They haven't shown up. Called and they show it booked for Thu and between 5-7pm. I woke up one morning and my refrigerator was not as cold as it should be. I did not think much of it, but by the end of the day, I realized that something is wrong. The next morning I called a refrigerator company and I was told someone would call me back. An hour and a half went by and no call back so I decided to call another company. I called Air Temp and was assisted immediately. I made an appt. for that day and met Luis, one of the owners, at my house. He was right on time and I told him what was happening and he went right to the freezer, opened the door and said the motor was gone. He said it would cost about $260 to repair and since my regrigerator was not that old, I was moving towards fixing it. He told me he had the motor with him. I then told him to come downstairs because I was also having a problem with my heater. My heater was 55 years old and apparently what I thought was wrong, was wrong, and he told me the reason my safety valve was tripping was because the heater was getting very hot and that he told me not to turn the heater on again and that it was a safety hazard. I pretty much agreed with him since the safety valve was tripping every time I used my heater. He said it would cost a lot to fix it and that it was not worth it. He gave me a price to replace the heater. Well, heaters are not cheap, but I knew I got 18 years use out of my heater that was now 55 years old and that I knew I needed to fork out the money and repair it. Luis was very fair about the price and we agreed on a price to repair the fridge and replace the heater. He came to my house the next day with a new heater and by the end of my work day, I had a brand new heater installed. I am happy to say that both are working very well and I am so glad I finally replaced the heater. No more going downstairs and resetting the safety valve. I highly recommend Air Temp for any of your service needs. They are very responsive, courteous and reliable. I also referred them to my sister who had her ice maker repaired and she is very pleased with the services.
