I didn't expect a longer wait time when I had an appointment so be prepared for that.

Like they sent us an email but my wife accidentally deleted all her emails by mistake. Aw go figure. She was really into decluttering big time lately. She said that's a gift! Heehee. She wants less screen time anyway. Aw what a silly lady. This past visit the patient police employee assisted us with the alarm registration as my wife went online at home but could not figure out how to renew that darn alarm system & she didn't want to wait any longer than necessary or pay the 50 dollar fine in March like six years before. If you observe what she did online you would understand what I mean! So my wife filled out the form/application at the nearby table & chairs. The lady whom I didn't get her name said it would be taken care of now. Yay! Got one thing done & out of the way! My wife checked it today online & confirmed it was renewed until 2029! My wife received the confirmation email in her spam folder too. Like what? Normally we use their EGPD Volunteers for house vacation watch & drop off donations when appropriate. This visit was absolutely necessary & my wife was thrilled it was taken care of!!! I'm sure we would return again in three years again to renew in person than do it online which was not apparent to do. Like why don't they make it clearer? Almost like another computer task we did recently online for our travels which was another drawn out story. Aw so annoying my wife says! & the Mercury wasn't in Retrograde yet. FIND ANY OTHER RECRUITING STATION…read more SFC Isabel is out of his mind, and the 1SG of this recruiting station has no control of his NCOs. For reference I am veteran with 8 years of active duty service. I am currently advising a family member on how best to join the military. After cornering my family member and berating them just for talking to Navy recruiters, both SFC Isabel and the station 1SG kept pressuring them to take a contract they didn't want. At one point, and I quote SFC Isabel stated "you know what, I'm f**king done with you." I advised my family member to take some time to consider best options moving forward, and not make a decision immediately, because this was clearly a red flag situation. SFC Isabel immediately became livid. Getting out of his chair and in my face, and got extremely aggressive and confrontational. Trying to intimidate me, discredit my service, and dismiss my advice. Yelling profanities, and the level of general disrespect towards a family member of a potential recruit, directly in front of your 1SG should be grounds for an article 15 under UCMJ. However the 1SG remained silent and did nothing to de-escalate the situation. I will be pursuing further action through the recruiting battalion chain of command, the Army Inspector Generals Office, and local congress representatives. I will update this review with any outcome, change, or attempt to rectify the issue on the Army's behalf. These NCOs are a discredit to the Corps of Non-Commissioned Officers and fail to uphold the standards expected of them.

I've always driven by this area and never really thought about checking it out until one day, a…read morefriend and I decided to find a nearby place to walk and stumbled upon this hidden gem. I always see events being hosted at District56 on social media, so I honestly thought it was mainly a community space where people hosted events. I had no idea there was an actual park back there too! It's a pretty decent-sized community center with an aquatic center, a large park, and a beautiful pond. My friend and I were actually really impressed by the layout of the entire area. I really like the modern style, and the area is fairly clean and well maintained. The park itself is kind of hidden behind the buildings, big trees, and parking lots, so if you've driven past it like I have, you probably wouldn't even know there's a community park back there. It almost feels like entering an amusement park because you have to drive into the parking lot and make your way toward the park before you really see everything it has to offer. There's a huge grassy field, and I absolutely love the pond and seeing all the geese around it. There's also an aquatic center with big water slides. I haven't actually been inside the aquatic center yet, but from the outside, it looks pretty clean and spacious. One of my kids' and my favorite things is the splash pad outside the aquatic center. We especially love how the water features light up at night, which makes it even more fun and enjoyable in the evening. This has become one of the parks my kids and I visit pretty often in the Elk Grove area, and we never get tired of coming here. It's such a nice little hidden gem for walking, letting the kids play, or simply enjoying some time outside.

I recently hosted a party with friends here. We ended up using this covered picnic area that is…read moreadjacent to the restroom, playground, as well as the outdoor workout area. I had my partner call in to ask if we could reserve the picnic area, since we were pretty set in hosting our party there. They told us there was no need for reservation, as it was first-come-first served, which is cool, but also made us nervous at the same time because we had to ensure that we got there early enough to claim the area. We went there on a Sunday morning at 7 am, and it was available for us. We took several weeks to scope it out. The covered area has 6 picnic tables, as well as trash/recycle bins, BBQ area, and an electrical outlet box towards the main walkway. The outlet was very helpful for us to have our speakers. There is light inside of the box so you can see what you're plugging into. Something to note is that the tables are kind of dirty looking, so you may want to get some table cloths to cover them. The surface area of the tables are about 32 inches wide and 92 inches long. I would recommend definitely getting table cloths bigger than this surface area size, and also bring tape! It is also totally possible to hang banners at the top of the covering, but make sure you have someone tall enough to reach the beams. As for the bathrooms, they are fairly clean for a park and are spacious. There is a lot of nature which makes this park so unique. There is a lot of duck poop in certain areas, so beware! This park gets pretty busy in the evenings during the summer. The other features of District56 is that there is plenty of free parking, lots of field space, and there is essentially a senior community center with a cafe, and a recreational swimming area. As for the workout area, it is pretty nice because the have structures in which they provide guidance on how to use it, and also different level platforms. The recreational swimming area/aquatic center--you can host parties here, but it is limited in the hours you can reserve. Admission prices are pretty reasonable. On the day we went, there was a party earlier in the day, and they opened to the public around 1 pm. There was a line already forming about half an hour before opening time (lots of families), which was surprising. We perused the area, and it seems pretty nice, as there are lots of lounging areas under umbrellas. The thing that is kind of unfortunate is that the senior community center is closed on the weekends. This is important because if you're looking for a public restroom, you won't get access to that or the aquatic center unless you pay admission. Therefore, you have to walk all the way back to the park for a public restroom. I wished they put a public restroom right i between the community center and the aquatic center. All things considered, this is probably one of the nicest parks in Elk Grove!

The office was empty when we arrived, so we were seen right away. Iris, the clerk who helped us, was friendly and efficient. She stamped our form, made a copy, and we were done in less than 5 minutes! So glad we came early. The office is a nice suite and the location is easy to get to. Quick, smooth, and stress free process. Highly recommend if you need to take care of business in person.
