Family oriented with kids and parents all there to hang and train. Snacks and some play areas for kids and a beautiful bright matted area with amazing pictures from Ryans career fighting and cornering the most recognizable faces in the game. The instruction was absolutely incredible I cannot recommend Ryan and his academy more. Definitely check it out if you are in the area I wish I could train here more! - Nick Lamagna

Started with BJJ, but then switched to capoeira which they enjoyed more because of the acrobatics. The coaches and staff are really supportive and patient with the kids. The gym is pretty big and they have cameras so parents can observe from the lobby. Parking can be tough if you don't get there early, but there's room on the neighboring side streets which aren't too far away. Typically there's always people leaving between classes so I have always been able to find a stall. The prices are reasonable. Upfront costs may seem high, but it includes the uniform and which they need anyway. Otherwise it's a great price. They also offer discounts for siblings, military, etc.

I am 48 years old, and I haven't had formal martial arts training in over 10 years. I moved here back in 2020 during the pandemic and because of work as well as unhealthy choices, my fitness took a toll. I'm fact my overall well being took a toll. I was headed towards a negative path in my life and when you are faced with adversity, you have 2 choices: 1. Let adversity consume you. 2. You make changes. My problem was I didn't know how to start making those changes. Enter Elevate MMA. One day while driving in falls Church for groceries, I saw a banner for an MMA gym. Something intrigued me. I learned immediately that the gym is operated and taught by World Class MMA fighter and World Class MMA Coach and UFC veteran Master Siyar Bahadurzada who has trained alongside some of the greatest fighters in MMA history. At that point, I had to learn more. I met Master Siyar in person and I talked to him about my short and long term goals. He listened to me and assured me that as long as I come in and commit to training and give it my best, I will see the results I want. He is 1000% right. The only way you will know if something is possible or impossible is if you give it a try. Never accept any limitations that have been placed upon you. When you learn to be out of your comfort zone, that is when change happens. That change will produce growth. Master Siyar is true martial artist and he is passionate about what he does and how it affects people. His teaching style is phenomenal as he is patient, gives clear instructions, and as long as you give it your best, he will take care of the rest and build you up from there. I invite you to come in and experience Elevate MMA for yourself. I have been here now for 3 weeks and already, I have lost 4.5 pounds, I am getting stronger, and building my confidence day by day. I am so proud to be a student of this school. Elevate MMA offers something great for everyone. So I leave you all with this: "The way you do anything is the way you will do everything." If you are determined to better yourself, then I will see you at ELEVATE MMA. Think about it, take action, and own it! Let's go!

The instruction is top notch and you will not only get a great workout, but you will learn life saving techniques to get yourself out of trouble. The gym is pretty basic - think no a/c or heat. Train like you fight. They offer Krav Maga, Jiu Jitsu, and Filipino Martial arts (think stick/knife fighting - which is my favorite :)). It's no nonsense, get it done type of training. This isn't training for martial arts sports, you're training to end the fight and get out of the situation. In addition to the classes (almost 7 days a week), you can participate in sparring on Saturday mornings. No invite needed, just show up and feel what it's like to fight someone fighting you rather than a willing victim that you get during the week during training. There is gear you can borrow for the day, but I highly recommend getting your own as soon as possible. There really is no other way to learn to fight than with someone that's uncooperative. This gives you a chance to try a new things that you've learned to see it in action in real-life. You'll love it!

I love the instructors - they are patient and kind but require that things be done the right way; all while making it really fun, especially for the younger kids. I also love the values and disciple that tae kwon do encourages. Plus, it's a fun way to get to get exercise and safely hit things which all kids love. But more then that, it teaches "might for right" so that it's ok to hit a target but not your brother. ;o) My boys have actually used the confidence they have developed from Jhoon Rhee to stand up to bullies and I feel better knowing that they spend time learning "stranger danger" and how to deal with a bad guy. It may seem like a lot of money on an annual basis but I think the investment is worth the results. Especially if you break down the expense per class, it is a very reasonable cost. I highly recommend Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do! I am trying to write this review again since Yelp has filtered my previous review. I am personally upset by this as clearly I am a real and legitimate person with a real and positive opinion about this fine business. Please always review Yelp's filtered reviews since that seems to be where the best ones are to be found.
