Moved into one of their new construction homes and thus far it's been a seamless process. Great quality for the money spent.

We tried purchasing a custom built house by AHO. We looked around and it seems that they stepped up the construction a bit over the years. However, they didn't pick up their​ customer service. Sales representative was rude to us along with our agent on multiple occasions. There is a way to conduct business and that isnt it. We will be taking our business elsewhere. read more

I posted a decent review about Aho because they built me a good house. Now I am writing a second review to make a few points. First of all, as I mentioned in my first review yes, we did have some minor repairs after we moved in but we had a warranty from Aho and all of those issues have been fixed, we did not pay anything for those repairs, which is great. Second, there are no perfect builders or perfect buildings; of course, there will be some things that need fixing it happens everywhere. As long as you communicate with the builder and make a punch list and as long as they fix the things that need fixing and go honestly about doing it then it makes them good in my book. Yet again, I give them a five star rating because each time I called them about something they came and fixed it. Yes, I did spent some time on the phone but it was all well worth it. Third, I give them a five star for the atmosphere in the office; people there are always nice and friendly. The forth point I'd like to make is this, when we were in the process of building our house, we did a lot of homework and leg work. We went and looked at their models, we talked to them about different options, we did not want to be stuck with basic options a lot of our things that were put into this house were upgrades. After the house was built we added additional cabinet in our master bathroom above the toilet for towels. It looks nice. We did a lot of research on line about insulation materials that Aho uses and they are great. Granted it is not a duplex so I can't speak for how well that would work but I can tell you that it works well for the actual house. I have friends who are renting an Aho house and as far as I can tell that house is fine, it has been there way longer than mine and it still looks good and like new. read more

I have now lived in my Aho home for 3 years and 10 months--I'm definitely not content with my home. After reading the other review I realize that it's not just my house! I have substantial cracks in my texture, in some places chunks have just fallen off the walls. In addition to the cracks, the screws/nails are visible through the texture and paint. There's a ledge in my kitchen area and it isn't fully painted--although you wouldn't know unless you got a ladder and looked but it's the principal...why would you leave the wall only partially painted?! On to the windows, I have 6 windows and 3 of them aren't set correctly. There is an obvious gap in my front window where it's supposed to close. I can clearly hear the cars drive by and people talking because of the gap and I'm sure it has an effect on my heating and cooling. The other two aren't as bad as the front but they're crooked. Floors: I can feel the metal from the tack strip stab me in areas where the carpet transitions to the vinyl. Caulking was deteriorating when we purchased the home and at the time it was just a couple years old. The recessed lights in my kitchen are loose and have small cracks around the perimeter. The hole for the fan in the bathroom was cut too big or not in the right spot because the fan that is supposed to cover it has a 1/4 inch hole on one side. This is my first home and when I purchased it I didn't know what to look for, it was only shortly after that I started to notice all of the flaws. Honestly I think the house is OK, it appears nice but the details were obviously neglected. Regarding the actual staff at Aho, I spoke with a gentleman once as I had a question about my home and he didn't know the answer but promised to get back to me. He didn't bother to ask for my phone number so I offered it and before the call ended I knew the guy wasn't going to call back just by his attitude. After working in retail for many years I know how far a good customer service experience can go and after that call I dislike Aho more so. Needless to say, the next time I look for a home--which will be soon--I will steer clear of any home built by Aho! read more

AHO did a very poor job on my dads new home. Siding was cracked in areas painting was done very poor foundation was cracked. Unfinished walls upstairs walls had Poor texture. There was over 20 things on the punch list and still nothing been done to fix the issues. read more

Every now and then there's a bad apple in the bunch so just maybe the "Rental" which is reflected on had some flaws back then. These days after watching the AHO Construction company for over a year I've Bought in with 100% certainty that I've found the very best in the Washington area. I am soo happy with my Aho Built home I barely know where to start. My husband and I went to the model home in Pasco and was so surprised by the welcoming environment and the representative that helped us was so polite and not pushy at all. I have to say I was a little bit apprehensive when I first toured the model home and looked into purchasing a home because I had heard some negative remarks about Aho Construction - In fact most of what I heard sounded like the comments below. Needless to say we have been in our Aho Home for a little over 2 years now and I absolutely love it. I was able to pick out all finishes both inside and out. We have had a great experience with our home and have not had any troubles. Aho really made the building process easy for us. This is the second time we have gone through the building process and let me tell you Aho was hands down the better company to work with. After reading the comments below I felt a little offended because I live in an Aho Built home and the complaints are a little ridiculous. Let me shed some light on a few things. First off EVERY brand NEW home will have cracks in the dry wall no matter who built it, there is natural settling in the foundation and the ground. It doesn't mean your home was built poorly it just means the ground has shifted due to the natural settling of the earth. Not to mention it is an easy fix. Nail pops are normal again the settling of the ground can cause these nail pops. Lastly in my experience with the last two homes I have had built - there is always a final walk through were it gives you the opportunity to look at things closely and request things to be repaired or fixed properly. After all we are all humans and do make mistakes. When reading the reviews for anything you purchase you must remember that the majority of people only leave a review when they are unsatisfied. I hope that if you are looking at purchasing an AHO Built home you take in consideration that the people who are complaining below may or may not take good care of their home since purchasing it and You do get what you pay for ... if you spend the extra to get the nicer finishes you will experience less problems down the road. ANYWAYS - Like I said I love my new home built by Aho in Pasco. They have improved their quality so much and I am very pleased with my home. I would highly recommend taking a look at one yourself - before listening to some of these bad reviews. read more

We have moved into a newer home in one of their newer developments. I've also walked through some of their homes as they're being built. I see missed strikes in the plywood to floor joists (nails missing the joists, not coated with glue as well) and I see that they don't stagger the plywood subfloors (you need to cut every other sheet of 4x8 by half so that you don't have one long straight seam). In our own home the finish work is bad (nail heads were not sunk and stick out), we have squeaky floors and bumps under the carpet (from crap mud work) we've also had warranty work done on interior pieces because they are so cheap. Most of the glass is scratched and not sealed properly, and when they finished the crappy job of putting asphalt shingles on the roof they didn't sweep it off (tons of roofing nails all over the finished roof). read more

This home was not what I was expecting hearing all the good things aho people had to say about there homes being top notch when I first walked in the home there was cracks and holes that weren't sealed up right and just painted over a few of my cabinets were missing chunks the top of my cabinet doors weren't even painted my kitchen tops had bumbs everywhere one off my doors was missing a big chunk on the bottom and they just tried to paint over it some of my siding was bowing out and a lot of my siding looked like it had been dropped and they just painted over it and now the paint is starting to come off I can see lots of screws or nails from the drywall coming out and cracking my paint the caulking looks like a 4yr old child did it I have 3 places where my floors are squeaky both my tubs have huge scratches my ceiling is starting to cracked also they've sent some employees our here to fix these mistakes they've been here about 3 times and every time all they do is caulk and paint making it look more bad and now that I have a crack in my ceiling it's taken them a month and they still haven't sent anyone out to fix it the only reason they get 2 stars is because the electrical and hvac work was top notch besides that I could have round up 4 random guys and built a "quality home" just like them I very disappointed in the craftsmanship and quality and now I have to put up with this for a while because they keep sending unqualified guys out to fix these mistakes that just caulk and paint everything I guess you can put some of the blame on me for signing the contract but this was my first house and with all the good things I had heard from aho I didn't think I would have to be looking at every inch of this house I take a lot of pride in my work I just figured other people did the same I purchased my home in sunnyside last year just want to help people out before they get tricked into buying a home like me I also forgot to add that the landscaping was horrible I have holes in my lawn that I'm constantly having to fill because they didn't pound the dirt before they rolled the sod on and the sprinklers are horrible the water my car and neighbors yard more then they water my own yard some of the sprinklers are sideways and there pipe is about 2in in the dirt I've hit it multiple times trying to plant stuff read more

Poorly built home!! Stay away if you can. So much has had to be "repaired" and you have to ultimately argue with the guy that calls you, "Billy", to get anything repaired. He just constantly tries to blow you off like you are making a big deal out of nothing. We had a door built in the wrong location, bubbles coming up from the linoleum, holes in the carpet padding that you can feel when you walk around your house barefoot. We tore out flooring only to find gigantic gashes in the subfloor and all they did was put squares of linoleum in the whole to try to fill them instead of filling them properly. Cracks in the walls, screws coming out of the drywall all over the house, chunks of plaster all over the floor that you can feel under our "upgraded" carpet padding. the front walkway was poured crooked and had to be repoured. Major texture repairs. One of the bedroom closets was built too small and you could not fit a standard hanger in the closet. Someone had left things in the window sills when the paint was still wet and we have marks in multiple sills. The fireplace allows a TREMENDOUS amount of cold air to come through. You can not even sit in front of the fireplace in the living room when it is off because it is so cold. The tile is literally like ice. We have had just so much wrong with this house since the get go I could never recommend this builder to anyone. These homes are certainly not built to industry standards! read more
