I haven't been to a dentist for some time and always dread going. Either due to surprise charges, insurance issues or feeling like I'm being pushed to get something unnecessary. But I loved my experience here; everyone was pleasant to me, made me feel comfortable and I felt like I received over and above care. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Ahn and Dr. Perez. I have been coming here for 7 years. The dental care is exceptional, and so is the way they interact with patients. I had some dental emergencies come up the other year and they got me into the office and taken care of right away. Dr. Ahn helped me get rid of a salivary stone in my cheek after my medical doctor had no idea was the issue was. It was so painful my jaw felt locked and I couldn't eat. Dr. Ahn fixed it by taking the time to inspect what might be going on. When my front tooth chipped, Dr. Perez took me in right away and fixed it. The staff are always very nice too. They also referred me to a great endodontist when I needed a root canal. They really take care of their patients. You know you're in good hands when you're there. Ahn and Perez are a fantastic team of dentists and in general. I first came to Ahn and Perez in 2018 and have not plus can't imagine choosing any other primary dentistry let alone any other to want to visit instead. Truth be told, as of right now I have gotten to know and become tremendously more acquainted with Doctor Ahn since my initial visit than I have Doctor Perez. In fact, since my initial general cleaning appointment, I have only truly met and been able to run into Doctor Perez once throughout my entire experience so far as a client with them, which is in all honesty and completely not anything that should be a help against Doctor Perez. I believe the reasoning behind that is simply that whenever I get my appointments scheduled happens to occur while Doctor Ahn is working and hardly ever when Doctor Perez is. However, just becoming acquainted with Doctor Ahn alone has made my entire experience as a client with them completely worthwhile. The only disappointment and downside at least when it comes to me is that I genuinely wish they were able to be more flexible when it comes to which insurance they accept. Although it is genuinely not all that surprising in the least that they do not at least currently accept any sort of AHCCCS plan, it is still unfortunate regardless as I am sure it has been for a variety of previous and/or potential clients who come here and in general elsewhere. However, that is just the regular cycle of life when it comes to those of us who do not at least at that particular moment have access to private health insurance. Therefore, I would one hundred percent and of the course, schedule regularly (id est. as necessary - the traditional every six or so give or take months) which Ahn and Perez but especially due to my own personal and unfortunate situation of struggling to maintain steady employment (along with a steady private insurance plan to go along with it), I unfortunately only find myself able to schedule a general check-up, cleaning, and/or et cetera. with Doctors A and D whenever I have access to an insurance plan that they are willing to accept (potential and those who are considering checking out this dentistry should note that although the doctors and even their website is not completely clear nor specific in regards to which insurance plans are accepted should be aware that they generally are favorable to whatever insurance you have as long as it is a PPO). However, I must unashamedly admit that the service Doctors Ahn and Perez provide in regards to my dentistry needs has found me being willing to pay even completely out of pocket to book specifically with them. However, when you put into consideration that they are the official dentists to Arizona State University athletics, then you can't be all that surprised or even blame me too much being that I am personally a proud Arizona State University alumnus and proud Sun Devil for life. But overall and in the end, I highly recommend checking out Ahn and Perez and at least ensuring that scheduling at least an initial appointment to obtain your impression of them, their facility, services, and/or et cetera. overall would be completely and genuinely worth it. I have been coming to this office since the early 90s, along with the rest of my family ( who had been loyal patients for decades prior ). I remember way back when the previous dentist announced his retirement and that Dr. Ahn and Perez would now be the ones to treat us ... this transition of care was as seamless as seamless gets .... Their energy speaks for itself as it always has .... They lead with integrity while staying grounded - showing empathy all while empowering their patients. This office feels like home & they have always treated me and my family as an extension of theirs ... During times of dental emergencies they have always come to the rescue - beyond expectations of what you could ever ask of any dentist - THEY CARE . It's not talking the talk - rather - WALKING THE WALK. After turning 27 I was bumped off of my parents insurance & was terrified of what that would mean for dental bills . They made sure I was taken care of even when I was avoiding their calls to check in ... They checked in with my family to make sure I was okay & that is the kind of love that we need more of in this world... After my first appointment back in 3 years I now feel silly for not keeping up with my regular visits out of fear of cost .... which really was irrelevant because they're here for a higher purpose & it reflects in their work & a bill that won't break the bank - insured or not . I chose this dentist because they're walking distance from our house, and I know Drs Ahn & Perez through my former place of employment. As far as the whole dental experience, this place was fine, but I'm a freak of nature that loves going to the dentist so unless I walk out the door with bleeding gums, I'm gonna be content with the exam and cleaning. However, my problem with this office is that they don't take our insurance, and they neglected to inform us of this until AFTER they had already done $400+ worth of cleanings and exams on myself and my husband. A receptionist should know which insurance policies they accept and they should be up front in telling you if yours isn't one of them. I had my appointment and then my husband had his THREE WEEKS later. PLENTY of time to call and say "Hey, by the way, your insurance won't cover all the services since we're not one of their providers." Seems a little shady to me. So, if they take your insurance, great! Book it. But be SURE they do before you let them do your exam. read more

Dr. Ahn and Perez are wonderful! I went to this office for a couple of years while I lived in Tempe. The front office was excellent about reminding me of my appointments and about answering any questions I had regarding my care or about insurance. I read the negative review about insurance and am blown away! I was a student on my mother's insurance at the time and have overpaid for health care in the past, but Dr. Ahn and Perez always made sure I knew what my insurance covered and answered all my questions. The actual dental care is also fabulous. They are excellent at explaining things well and making you feel at ease. Dr. Ahn even cleaned my teeth a couple times on days the hygienist was out and was excellent and so nice!! I've met a few dentists who won't do a cleaning -- not Dr. Ahn :). I believe what makes a great healthcare provider is empathy, understanding, honesty, and superb medical knowledge. Let's face it, nobody likes going to the dentist. At least nobody i know. Over the years I've had many a crappy dentist so I was glad when a co-worker recommended Ahn & Perez and they actually turned out to be good! Ahn & Perez are a married couple and their practice is very friendly. The office manager, Terri is always very nice and pleasant. Almost makes going to get your teeth drilled not so bad. They are willing to work with you on payments. When I had a crown put on they let me split up the payments so it didn't hurt my bank account quite as much. I was really nervous for the crown work as I'd never had more than a filling in the past. The process was (relatively) painless and Dr. Perez worked quickly. They even have a TV in front of the chair so you can watch a movie with headphones on while they work on you. I kept my eyes shut but even being able to listen to the movie helped take my mind off my teeth. I go back every 6 months for my cleaning and I never leave with my mouth in pain from being stabbed in the gums like I've experienced at other places. I highly recommend Ahn & Perez if you're looking for a dentist in the Tempe area. read more

Their staff is amazing and both Dr. Ahn and Perez are so sweet, always taking the time to make sure your questions are answered. They make you feel right at home, as if you were one of their family. This husband and wife team are expensive and conduct unnecessary procedures to run up your bill. Dr. Perez did such a horrible root canal job on one of my molars that I lost the tooth and now the bone wont heal...therefore I cannot get an implant!! It seemed every time I went in, they would spend too much time "measuring my gum line" and not fixing the problem(s). Dont waste your time or money on these so-called dentists. read more

I was pleasantly surprised with my first visit to see Dr. Ahn. I have had a couple of bad experiences with dentists, but I am here to stay. Dr. Ahn was friendly and spent the entire appointment with me. My last dentist recommended $4000 worth of work which I declined and started searching for a new provider. Dr. Ahn and Perez are very well educated and wonderful dentists. I was not born with healthy nor strong teeth so I have had many dentist and work done over the past 38 years of adulthood. My husband, mother in-law & I have all been patients of Dr. Ahn & Perez for over 10 years. I read the negative review from a patient not being informed of insurance coverage by the front office and I was blown away! Adults, living in the 20th Century, should know they have to be their own advocate in all health care issues. Insurance Companies tell the consumer it is their, the patient's, responsibility to inquire and ask questions regarding acceptance of your insurance carrier by the doctor you choose to see (Health or Dental). The patient (adult) has the responsibility to be an informed consumer and ask any questions they have. During my 9 years as a patient I have had years with insurance coverage & some years without insurance. Dr. Ahn and Perez, as well as their office staff, always make sure I know what my insurance coverage is and answer all my questions. They have been willing to work with me on payments. Dr. Ahn and Perez I believe are examples of great healthcare providers. When I ask what dental work needs to be done first in order to have a healthy mouth they discuss what dental work can wait and what things need to be done now. read more

My wife has been going to Drs. Ahn and Perez for years and she cannot say enough good things about them and their entire staff! Lynette is the absolute best for teeth cleaning. My wife has gum issues and Lynette is so skilled and thorough and numbs her problem areas before starting. Recently, Dr. Ahn was kind enough to see my wife immediately when her mouth pain wouldn't go away and Dr. Ahn was thorough in her treatment and recommendations. She personally called my wife's busy endodontist's office while she was there to request that she be seen asap and even called the endodontist himself with to fill him in on her condition. I have been gong to Drs. Ahn and Perez since moving to Arizona 8 years ago, and can only say wonderful things. Their office staff are very pleasant and very accommodating, and the doctors always take great care of me. I have very thin enamel that chips pretty often and they are always great about getting me in ASAP so I don't have to walk around with a snaggle tooth. These dentists are great at explaining medical issues in a way that you can understand. They are honest and very smart. They don't take my insurance and I still go there (lets face it, dental insurance doesn't reimburse much, so it's only like a $15 difference for me to go out of network for a cleaning). I have been going to Dr. Ahn and Perez for 8 years. They are gentle and my experiences have always been pain free. They are very knowledgable, professional and friendly. They take the time to get to know me and to thoroughly answer all of my questions. They have always worked with me with my dental insurance and clearly put having satisfied patients ahead of making money. Once, after a misunderstanding about what my insurance would cover, they wrote off a large bill that I would have been responsible for paying for myself. In 8 years they only ran behind once, and to apologize they sent me home with a Starbucks gift card. I once ran into their previous receptionist at a grocery store in Gilbert, and while I was trying to place her face and remember where I knew her from, she approached me and greeted me by name!
