Wow, I was on hold waiting to schedule an appointment and the reviews popped up! I am shocked and…read moresadden to see so many people rate this office so low. I have been coming to the Bowie Office Probably Over 10 years! I have to admit, there are times when I have had to hold for 10 minutes but I have never experience the rudeness or disrespect. What I have experienced is calling my doctor at the beginning of Covid19 because I was very sick. However because I did not have a high temp (my norm runs about 95, I was at 100 for me, it was high.) I was not considered a priority at the ER! I called my Dr. at MPC in Bowie, who told me to come to the back door, took my temp, took the nose swab and sent me back to the ER with a note! I was told, don't read-it, give it straight to check-in. I don't know what it said but I was finally tested and had Covid. I know, when I was a new patient and saw my Dr. I was given labs early afternoon which included blood work. My doctor, read my labs and left a message that I needed to come back to the office and she would wait for me. I got the message after 7pm but went by. I was pre-diabetic and she wanted me to have medication on the cruise. See she remembered a previous conversations about me trying new deserts when I cruise. I can call my Dr., send messages for my mom, dad or myself and get answers or appointments. BTW - she/they treat my parents and my husband. There have been changes with the staff but I have no doubt, it will be corrected. They take great care of us.

It takes forever to get your prescriptions/referrals correct and then you have to wait for months if you need an authorization. Some of the front desk staff are very unprofessional! I have left several messages regarding different issues that I am experiencing and no one ever returns your calls. I am not sure who is doing the hiring for this location but someone needs to do better screening and hire people that love their job because the people that I am speaking to are not professional. There are a couple of people that have tried to help me but for the most part, this office needs help and they need to do better.

I booked an appointment with Robin Codjoe via Zocdoc for 3:30 today…read more I provided my insurance information, photos of license via zocdoc last week, when booking. I contacted my former primary to fax over my records with them to provide my history. Their office sent a link asking me to update information for my appointment. You're unable to get to that portal with incorrect information to see anything further or update anything. I put in my zip code and date of birth (required info) and could not reach whatever they wanted me to populate. I later discovered it was because the zipcode they had on file was INCORRECT. Someone had entered generic information versus leveraging the license address or anything else from zocdoc. I received no phone calls prior to the appointment, no emails or texts with any information other than the link that I could not access due to what THEY put in my file for zip code. No communications from their office sent via email or text stated anything about grace periods for arrivals, etc. and only mention my appointment time of 3:30 I showed up 10 minutes early (3:20) so that I could fill out any further information they may need. I was advised upon arrival that I was told I needed to arrive 15 minutes early (in what communication ??) and that I had a 5 minute grace period to try and fill out my paperwork. I begin populating their tablet with my info, which included having to take photos of my license and insurance card all provided by zocdoc a week ago). The front desk calls me up and asks if I'm finished. I advise yes. They then tell me they'll ask the doctor if I can keep my appointment. I'm then told I have to be rescheduled. I understand wanting to be prompt but to have weak communication going out to new clients, not leveraging zocdoc for information and then penalizing the client by canceling even though I showed up early does not reflect the grace, care and understanding I want in a medical provider. I will not be coming back to receive service and this team should really reflect on areas they can improve to also effectively support potential clientele. Respect of time goes both ways.

Dr. Siegel, and after his retirement Dr. James Wang, took great care of my family's medical needs and made referrals to the appropriate specialists. Recently, service at BIM has deteriorated badly. The portal website is opaque. I cannot tell how to get a message through to my doctor. The telephone is terrible -- no one answers the phone. Doctors are notoriously bad at responding to messages, and BIM is now the worst of the worst. This country has the WORST MEDICAL CARE of any country on the planet. It is shameful how doctors make so much money and accomplish so little now. Government regulation is now fast asleep at the switch. I hope that this complaint wakes up BIM, at least, to restore itself to the high standards that it once met.

This was the epitome of another instance of ableism in mental health. When I e-mailed initially he…read moreagreed to do my medication management, then he found a passive-aggressive way to go back in his word during the intake. I would only be granted the privilege of treatment were I willing and able to retrieve decades-old medical records from throughout my entire medical history, including that which was provided by no-longer-in-practice providers (that are only required to keep medical records for 7 years), some of which are probably long dead by now given their age(s) at the time of treatment. He was not even willing to do his own legwork and have me sign releases so that he could retrieve this information himself, nope expected me to be his personal gopher. Not how it's supposed to go or how it has ever gone in the past, very low bar here. I'm not sure what I can even say about a man that feels the need to announce 4 times in a half hour that he's "going to be extremely transparent" before saying something; no one who is remotely honest overall EVER feels the need to say that. They just tell the truth and they don't expect a medal or a plaque for doing so. It's not newsworthy because they do so by default. I told him that best I could do was supply a list of meds and notes as to what the experience was like, and he fired me as a patient. I guess his reaction to my statement of needing firm boundaries was to attempt to meddle in my entire medical life, including his over-focus on things like vitamins, that are not even his area. The whole thing felt like an invasive procedure from the get go, and some of the questions themselves were definitely brewing some legit animosity as the session progressed. There was a constant invalidation (and plenty of droning/lecturing which dealt in various unsubstantiated garbo when someone only takes their narrow academia into account just to try my patience a little more) when I wasted my breath explaining symptoms and conditions to him, and he was completely out of touch with regards to therapy not working out. Welp, mental health is not even trained in autism, and they often fall down on what they are actually trained in. And it's a newsflash that going over 20 years under a wrongful diagnoses isn't exactly a picnic for the patient??? When I pushed back and said something along the lines of "Oh looks like I have to prove myself to someone or I must be lying" after the unreasonable and impossible demand of all those medical records, I was met with the gaslighting of "Sorry if that's how you're taking it". Well when his entire attitude was pervasively dismissive, know-it-all and confrontational, that's on you not me buddy. Maybe man up and accept some accountability. And maybe accept the fact that therapy usually only works for those that have the mental equivalent of a common cold; come down off the high horse and realize that what's wrong with patients that object to it, is that they are just more rational and informed than the rest of your patients who trust you blindly because you're a doctor. And after over 20 years of misdiagnosis, either that's my fault or I must be making it all up without endless corroboration (that is not even possible to obtain). I think I liked it better when we were all entirely in the dark, as this is definitely NOT an improvement over those circumstances, before you even get to other conditions such as a multitude of concussions. Right and the thought Vitamin B and "environmental issues" were the crux of why I have sleep problems. He could not even understand why this creates a situation of necessary boundaries and trust being at a bare minimum. Especially since the tele-health carpet-bagging began during the pandemic, mental health is even more in the dark than ever before. Yeah those appointments previously accounted for around 1%-2% and now they are up to over 40% of all mental health appointments. A gold rush tends to make quality go downhill. I have encountered various forms of patient-blaming rhetoric from mental health on quite a few occasions, but this was the very first time the provider did so preemptively. Usually it's vague generalizations with a very negative connotation, like "You're too complicated", and I start thinking "Oh I guess I should have been born more simple for your benefit, but God wasn't thinking about catering to your inadequacy when he made me". Yeah. LMAO I also have to explain my jokes to people like this, or just like he did about telling the truth, I have to announce that it's a joke before one of them jumps the "danger to himself or others" gun. I am glad Dr. Glorified Title fired me as a patient. I have had enough overlords in this lifetime who live with the delusion of grandeur that if they do it, it must be 'help'. Of course that works out even more poorly when they don't even have the first clue about your condition(s). I think I just dodged another Cluster B bullet.
