The ordering process was very easy as all of the items were listed on the glass. The staff was quick to pointing out what each item was and adding things to the bowl. Employees are very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The restaurant is always clean and there is usually plenty of seating available. There are no fountain drinks sold here however, can canned and bottled beverages are available. Welcome!" when entering. I ordered the Poke Bowl - Two Scoops ($14.95). I selected blazing salmon and kimchi shrimp for the scoops. And I selected the white rice base, house sauce, sliced cucumbers, edamame, roe, imitation crabmeat, and seaweed. The ordering process is simple and quick. All the ingredients are clearly labeled too. Imagine Subway but with way fresher ingredients and kinder service. The food came quickly. Concerning the food's quality, I was genuinely surprised me. AhiPoke has many locations, so I expected something passable; however, this West Covina (Eastland Center) location tasted very fresh. Surprisingly, I felt very satisfied with my meal. I eagerly devoured the plump shrimp and soft salmon. The vegetables tasted fresh and the rice was fluffy. Regarding staff, the 7PM staff was uniquely exceptional. They had large smiley faces, and they quickly offered to explain the ingredients and offer recommendations. Very unusual for a food chain but welcomed. When customers weren't approaching the counter, staff suddenly began cleaning. Very committed. AhiPoki's (West Covina) ambiance is probably its weakest aspect. Although the poke-themed wall art is appealing, the place felt cramped despite the many tables. Chill music echoed in the location, but I was mesmerized by the random construction ladder standing by the corner. Thankfully, the AhiPoki (West Covina) is very clean and well-ventilated. From the tall ceiling, several ceiling fans spun around. The location is nestled in West Covina's Eastland Center Plaza, so there's plenty of parking. I am so disgusted I'm reporting this place to the health department! I am a full time student and cannot afford to miss school. If I get sick from this I am quite literally suing. Great food, great quality poke, and amazing customer service. The young lady who helped me was kind, friendly, and very welcoming. However, there was a sign in the window that said "Sign up for our app and receive free avocado," so I signed up while waiting to order. At checkout, I was told I needed to redeem the reward in the app. When we checked, I learned that simply signing up does not actually give you the reward--you must first join and then start collecting points before becoming eligible. Unfortunately, this felt misleading, and I ended up having to pay for the avocado I thought would be free. That was frustrating and took away from what would have been a perfect experience. I ate here a few weeks back and the food was fantastic and so was the service! I went back again today and couldn't have been more disappointed. I can't comment on the food quality as I ended up walking out. The service was HORRIBLE!! The employees were so concerned with making all the online orders that they left the rest of us that came into the store waiting for a ridiculous amount of time with no acknowledgement. When I finally get to the front a new person comes up and tells me it's going to be a little bit before we can get to you. Looking for a Poke place in the area and this popped up and the Yelp reviews were positive. Ordered a teriyaki chicken plate (Teri sauce on the side) and 2 3 scoop plate and 2 orders of the spam musubi (4 total). First things first - the scoops are super small. The 3 scoops are equivalent to 1 regular sized ice cream scoop. You get the most fish, when you order the regular fish where they mix it in the bowl. All the pre-mixed ones you get mostly fillers (onions, bits of avocados etc etc) The base layer of rice (or greens) is a thin layer. Skimping on the rice...and the sides. Those are the cheapest part of the meal. The server, accidentally put green onions on my plate - didn't even offer to remake it. I just ended up having to pick it all out when I got home. The tuna, while mixed in the garlic sauce wasn't very flavorful at all. It was at best mild. The chicken plate - surprisingly had a decent amount of chicken. However, the teriyaki sauce on the side, they forgot it. I told the server twice and then when the cook asked me if I wanted sauce on the chicken, I told him on the side. Well, it went in 1 ear and out the other. There was no Teri sauce. The spam musubi's were ok, had just enough teriyaki sauce on them. Server only packed 2 forks for the 3 medals and no napkins. Overall - it wasn't worth the price we paid. The fish was lacking in flavor and the service wasn't very good. Missing sauces and not enough utensil's and no napkins. I was feeling poke and this place happen to be along my drive home. I'm grateful I stumbled upon it. Food: 5/5 I got medium bowl that came with two scoops of protein. The poke was fresh (I got salmon and tuna) the sides were plentiful, and the sauces were pretty good. They gave pretty big portions that were more than enough for one meal. I am a poke LOVER. I have been wanting to try this place for years but never made my way in until today. I chose the 3 protein half and half. The serving size is generous but something wasn't right. First, I got three different ahi's because that's how I roll. I got the spicy tuna, lava ahi, and plain ahi. The sauces were not very saucy and the fish tasted not so fresh. In other places for the toppings sometimes avocado is included in the price, here it is not so I opted out. For 18.some id probably not get poke from here again. I would try the cooked bowls though. Overall, nice clean store, service was decent, but the poke was lackluster. If you love poke the way I do, you probably won't love this place. If you are not picky, have at it. read more

We've been here maybe 5 or so times, but the last visit really caused some issues for me. Me and a friend both got food poisoning from the food and that will be the unfortunate end of our visits to any of their locations... It's really unfortunate that this happens but there are food regulations and safety measures supposed to be in place to prevent things like this from happening so I can only assume they are allowing ingredients to expire and allow them into peoples food. Ordering was pretty easy. This poke place has different flavored proteins that I don't really see other places do like the blazing salmon and kimchi shrimp. I think I have eaten really great poke in Hawaii and know what great poke taste like. The price point needs to be decreased because for $18, I was expecting better quality and taste. Super friendly staff. Want to give them 5 stars just for this. I cannot understate how refreshing it is to feel welcome as a customer these days (most places have teenagers working who IG or you and act like you are imposing on their day) ... I will say the bowl I got was mediocre. This is only the second poke place I've actually ever tried. But the other place I tired was AMAZZZING. Flavor explosion in my mouth. One of the best things I had ever eaten. So I had hoped and expected to have a similar experience here. What I found is that this place had less topping options and gave way smaller portions of the protein (tofu in this case), it just didn't hit the same. Also, the other places mixed the bowl up for me, so I didn't have to try and do it without spilling everything everywhere on my tray. I don't think I will come back here again - but I can see why it would still be really good for other people ... who like the toppings they have better than me. This was the first (and likely last) time visiting Ahipoki. Highly disappointed in the very loosely advertised term "fresh" ahi. It's not fresh at all. It's previously frozen. The portions are small. For $17, I expect a lot more protein especially since it's cheaper grade previously frozen ahi. The rice is just plain white rice, not sushi rice. Do not expect anything close to the poke bowls from Hawaii. read more
